Re: NBA 2K20: The Little Things

    Two random things I've noticed:

    - Joel Embiid rang the bell in Philiadelphia before tip-off

    - players use their off hands now, doing those slight push offs to create seperation, either when dunking or attempting a layup or dribbling and trying to get by someone

Haven't noticed this yet. Do you know to choose between 1 hand or 2?

Yep, just hold LT/L2 + RS Up for one hand and just RS Up for both.

As an old school NBA fan I can really appreciate the job they did on the legends faces.

Man!!! Larry Bird, Kareem, Michael, Magic.... photo realistic.

The WNBA inclusion was done top of the line.

Really really cool to see AND play. It truly does feel different than the men. Women’s hoops the way it should be.

It just became my favorite women’s sport to play on console. Move over WWE 2K and UFC.

One little thing I wish would come back from years ago. The CPU would control all five players after a made bucket until you moved the LS. Allowing you to make on the fly adjustments without getting completely out of position on D. Am I just too old to multi task?

Challenging a foul. Didn't think this was added, cool to see it.

I can't imagine why they would even do that. That's pretty disappointing. I trust 2K, though; I assume they had a good reason.

Simcast Live - which runs in real time if you set it to 1x - actually represents the normal game playing out, not a sim. And that means when you see something in that top-down screen that you want a closer look at you can actually watch it play out. Both the pause menu's instant replay and the score summary/box score highlight features will show the actual on-court action from when Simcast Live was running.

Cool little thing for the "coach mode" types.

This is an old little thing (as in, it's been around for a while) but a part of me figured it'd have been removed or overlooked by now.

Anyway, for anyone who hasn't used the 1998 Spurs before, they play in a generic arena but that arena has the classic Alamodome curtain with all the team's banners and retired jerseys up to that point.

I feel like they totally could have gotten away with not adding any detail to the Spurs' arena itself but instead it adds a huge element of immersion. We can probably thank the 2K12 team for that but glad it's still there.

I assume it was in favor of increasing details elsewhere. To me lighting and overall player and Jersey detail increased after the patch (1080p ps4). But that was hands down the best hair in the game lol (not counting braids and regular fade cuts) reminded me of Clay Guida in UFC 3 but the air fro version.

I'm not sure when the last time I've been able to successfully back-tip someone in 2K.

In addition, I thought the grazing dunk and celebration looked like quintessential AI at the end too.

Fighting for position under the glass when the ball is up. I happened to notice Shaq muscling people around like rag dolls to get position.
