Re: The 7'3 speed dilemma(stamina is broken)
It is funny to me how if you say on here you made a 7ft1-7ft3 guy you get attacked a little. I love playing as a big man. Most of my favorite players were big men aside from my personal goat Pippen lol. But ive always made a big as my MAIN COMP player. I was 6ft11 in 2k17 and even tho i was quicker it was obvious 7ft3 guys were boarding over me and forcing shots on me that would go in even when smothered. 2k18 I went to 7ft2 and stopped it with a slashing rim. 2k19 i went 7ft tall 2 way post. I was tall enough to contest(or i thought) and short enough to have speed. Once again in 2k19 i was forced over even when i had position. When you wanna play good players and you want success sometimes that means you have to go WITH WHAT WORKS. This year I made a 7ft2 Porzingis type build. (Shooting/Defense) I did it because I wanted to be able to stop any forcing down low and counter any other 7ft3 people. I have always been able to rebound, play d, post up and be a good big man, but sometimes you have to adjust to WHAT 2K ALLOWS. Not all of us with 7ft2 7ft3 big men are here to "cheese, be overpowered, make giants, all the negative things i see here... ect......". Some of us do this to be able to compete with ANYONE in the REC or Pro Am.Comment

Re: The 7'3 speed dilemma(stamina is broken)
Yes I'm happy as heck because I am a 7'3 interior force and this is literally how we should move. Defense is better im not sliding all over the f'ing place trying to stay in front of a Glasscleaner now. Paint play is WAY BETTER, you can bump your guy in the paint now because the movement was so slippery pre-patch.
Picks are easier to set, fastbreaks are realistic, I'm no longer doing chasedown blocks on point guards with 45 speed.
Post move speed didnt change at all(you probably have a low post move rating, GCLD?)
This is one of the best updates 2k has ever done because 7'3 giant speed was out of control. I now have a weakness and must learn how to play my character CORRECTLY to mitigate it. 6'11 dudes will blow by me now if I don't cut off the angles. I can still outboard him but I need better positioning.
Don't get mad because you cheesed your way to success and now that things are realistic and you actually have to THINK to beat your opponent. Skilled centers will still be skilled even with this change. It's the lames who wont be able to adjust and will get outed accordingly.
It was cool being a triple double demi-god for a few weeks but I'm elated they did this change. Probably the best 2k to date now.

its because people are thinking or wondering. now why would you go and do that? what person decides to be super slow, super unathletic but just tall? Who does that?
No one.
So why would you choose to make a guy (by his stats/ratings) is to be super slow and super unathletic? Because you know thats not how 2k will actually make your guy play regardless of your ratings shown on the screen. YOU KNOW, that your giant will run almost as fast as some perimeter guys even at 280lbs standing at a towering 7'2 to 7'3. You know that now that you've chosen one of if not THEE tallest height, rebounds will float to your hands like magnets even when you dont box out properly. You also know that guys will just plain blow layups vs you due to that defender badge and rim protector.
You lastly know that you do not have to fear any smaller stature guys that are 6'11, 6'10, or even 6'9 bigs that are lighter, quicker, faster, jump higher, jump quicker. why? because between your giant guys perimeter guy like speed(you can keep up) and the suspect rebounding 2k will allow you to do without doing much of anything...you dont have Any other big build to fear. there is no real counter to your build. And you knew this before you created him. therefore, some people think the only reason you created this build is because you know 2k is unrealistic or BROKEN and you're wanting to abuse that very fact.
at times non of the above is the reason you choose to be one of those giants. but USUALLY that is the case.
Remember Hakeem, David Robinson, Alonzo mornin, etc used their speed and quickness vs the really big and tall guys. you cant do that as well on 2k because speed/stamina is broken(well broken if they were actually trying to simulate realism.)Comment

Re: The 7'3 speed dilemma(stamina is broken)
IMO 7'3 players should be nerfed even more. They are really difficult to deal with whatever the game mode. Boban was really a problem playing against Dallas, and don´t get me started on myPlayer/Rec mode. Height is op in this game.Comment

You cant do anything against them.

Bigs can cover to much ground on defense(they are too fast)
Late contest on laups matter too much.
Random blocks doing pumpfakes.
Leaning shots for guys who have catch and shoot badge should be removed.Comment

let me explain why you get attacked fairly and unfairly for saying "i made a huge big guy".

Re: The 7'3 speed dilemma(stamina is broken)
Thats my point though. Im just countering what everyone else brings to the table. I played against 7ft3 bigs in 17,18,19, and now even in 20 with the nerfs.. I have to be 7ft1 or 7ft2 with max wingspan to eliminate them or else they force over me. I even had HOF Intimidator and Rim Protector on with him bodied and the forces would go in with my 7ft Center(98 overall with 97 interior defense and a 92 block). It makes no sense to me. I do what I have to because these 7ft3 players with no skill other than to hit right trigger n push you out of the way then force get away with it too often if you arent tall enough
I almost went with a Porzingis build this year as well; max height, but a shooter with limited weight/strength.
then I remember playing 2k19 with a 7'0" player underweight, getting bodied just like you describe.
So i made a max height and max strength center.
people can be upset all they want, but i made the player to play a team role. IMO going max height is surrendering to cheese or your role.
But youre damn right I daddy dick people in park if they try that mindless bully ball ****.
2k could just fix onball post defense? seriously check your 2kU; there isnt a page dedicated for post defense.Comment

haha, shoot, I would if they were realistically beasty with contact. I've always been fascinated with giant bball players. I mean I even like to pick big slow guys in fighting games sometimes. It's cool that you can take 1/3rd of someone's health with one attack even though they will never be able to win vs the meta characters.
I'd love to pick a big bruiser though, if it worked properly. I'd even pick like an Anthony Mason not tall not fast guy. If 99 str meant what it should mean and max height max weight certain builds were the only ones that could get it, I'd def make one. Would it be my main, I doubt it... but that's another reason that 7'3 being the meta sucks, I'd love to be the guy who picks the 7'3 guy when no one else does cuz they think he's garbage.

Re: The 7'3 speed dilemma(stamina is broken)
Noticed this too. With my 7' im outrunning a 7'3 on a fast break with the ball in my hands, but without im excatly as fast as a 7'3.
Really, what is so hard to implement speed in a video game correctly. Its a game of numbers, not more and not less...Comment

Re: The 7'3 speed dilemma(stamina is broken)
Its pretty obvious that 2k only patched speed without ball. I see more and more threads on reddit etc. that 7'3 behemoths move as fast with ball as their smaller opponents. Seriously 2k...Comment

It was fine after the patch but something happened friday night where 7'0+ bigs are swift with the ball.Comment
