Yeah I played the Wiz and Ish Smith was killing me. Every time I cut him off he would keep coming until he was in front of the hoop or under it. If I blocked his shot he'd get the rebound and put it back up over a much taller defender.

Re: CPU always going inside the paint gotta stop smh
I just beat the Warriors by switching to a 2-3 zone, then back to man to man when they started hitting 3s. Apparently it confused them because they only scored 11 points in the 4th quarter and I pulled away and won by 20.
Curry took 20 3s. Before the game I put every slider for shot tendency at 0 except 3's at 80, post at 10 and mid at 10. Be interesting to see if non Warrior teams take a lot of 3s with those settings or it was strictly based on Curry, Klay, etc. But I had to do something when 2 minutes in I'd already watched Klay pass up two wide open 3s to drive towards a clogged paint. That was with attack the basket at 30.Comment

Re: CPU always going inside the paint gotta stop smh
I'm using 35 for attack the basket and 75 for look post players. 100 for three points attemps, 40 inside, 10 close.
The CPU takes (average) 25/30 attemps per game. Not played yet against Rockets and Warriors.
I suggest not low the inside shooting too much otherwise the CPU kicks out the ball after an offensive reboundComment

Re: CPU always going inside the paint gotta stop smh
Definitely fixable with sliders/rosters. I have the CPU shooting 40+ 3s and holding them below 50 PIP.Comment

In all honesty, having to more or less rebuild the game every year to get the CPU to play reasonably realistically is starting to wear on me.Comment

Re: CPU always going inside the paint gotta stop smh
I really think there's something to this.
I've said for years that 2K plays differently in the early morning (Eastern time) when you'd expect there to be less traffic on 2K's US servers (west, mountain, & midwest timezones should, as a whole, have less users on)
Compared to 2K in the late evening (all timezones active).
It's understandable that most folks only play during certain hours, so they only experience the game one way. But I picked up on it years ago when I would try to get a game in at the *** crack of dawn vs a late night. It just felt like a diff game. (this is all offline NBA modes)
I never tried playing the game disconnected from the 'net on this gen (used to on the 360 to avoid patches), but it would make sense that it gives a diff feel.Comment

Re: CPU always going inside the paint gotta stop smh
still trying to figure out the right mix. started the game like i did the Warriors game with 3 at 80, post at 20, attack, inside, mid, and close at zero. Bucks are taking a few too many 3s and Giannis isn't attacking enough, just hanging out.
So I put attack, inside, and close to 10 each. IMMEDIATELY the Bucks start going into race horse basketball, running after every change of possession, whether a made basket or not. Still some drive and kick, but I'm really trying to find a happy medium where those are still around, teams don't shoot too many 3s and the other side doesn't attempt a fast break every single possession.
So I go in a slump at the same time and I go from trailing 50-47 to down 23 in 5 minutes. 5 minutes. I decide to sim to the end and with those settings on sim, apparently the Bucks threw up a 3 on about 75% of their shots the rest of the way.
I may be beating my head against the wall. Maybe I just need to wait for the right roster or maybe it's my playing style that somehow invites the CPU to think racing 5 guys down court at breakneck speed after every change of possession is in their best interests. I try to slow down my offense, keep the pace down.Comment

Re: CPU always going inside the paint gotta stop smh
I changed all offense attack sliders to zero, and three point slider to 100. CPU still attacks basket almost every time. Playing human versus CPU.
Does anyone know what the problem is? Seems like it’s been happening since last patchComment

Its the left stick dribbling. The cpu can take almost any perimeter player and dribble left right left right while sliding you towards the rim, without loosing the ball or fouling. Jj Redick, gerald green, Caldwell Pope, doesn't even matter the player.Psn: Alabamarob

Re: CPU always going inside the paint gotta stop smh
To combat the driving to the basket, you really have to edit the rosters. That's what I did and the game plays a WHOLE lot more realistic.
Basically I edited everyone's layup, drive (all types), ISO, 3pt spot, 3p contested, and pass out tendencys ( I edited everything else but these 6 tendencies tend to affect the driving to the basket the most).
Also, playbooks have a lot to to with this as well.
In a nutshell, editing the sliders is like getting liposuction to loose weight in where as editing rosters is like working out and eating right... I think you all may know which one is better for you.... sliders is a quick fix but it doesnt get to the core of the problem.

Re: CPU always going inside the paint gotta stop smh
As far as rosters, I just posed an example in another thread of Poirier on the Celts being a 42 3 point shooter but having 3 point tendencies spots well above 60 at the top of the key and 2 other spots. In myleague he's tossed up well over 150 3's in 46 games and hit at 18%
Seems like tendencies are drawn out of a hat sometimes. I'm not familiar with him as a player and maybe the 3 point rating is the issue, maybe the tendencies, but real NBA players don't take a ton of shots they aren't good at.Comment

You guys are all understanding what i've been going through since this gen and maybe especially for the last 3-4 years that the games offline are actually felt a lot online and it definitely makes a difference about the connection.
I've been loosing my mind on it. During peak hours you can also feel the speed of the game changes as well as the animations blending gets messed up big time...Comment
