Re: Matchmaking in Rec is awful.

I'm still trying to figure out how we ended up with a system where the only way to rep up at a reasonable rate is to spam alley oops on every single offensive possession.

Somehow in 2K20 you can make 20 threes on 25 attempts and only get 25% as much rep as some guy who either caught or threw 20 alley oops while cherry picking all game long on fastbreaks that are being generated by blind chucking 90 foot outlet passes as soon as the ball touches the rebounder's hands and will consistently hit leaking teammates in stride with less than a 5% failure rate.

It's sad watching what this game turns into when it's being played solely to get rep percentage points. At least more than one offensive style should be viable instead of the gameplay revolving around throwing as many alley oops as possible.

Why do so many prefer beating up on randoms, rather than finding some real comp? My guess is that people are extremely soft now a day, so any win is better than any loss.
      they cant handle comp.

easiest way to win is to group up and play against randoms.

why do you think that some people dont want randoms to be seperated from stacks.

no more that much easy wins ....

the game should reward iq rather than chasing stats for rep. thats the problem with the rep system.

          Yup.

Not sure if you were in the conversation, Loso, but I was against online badge grinding when they added it in 2k18 foreseeing exactly what's going on online.

I made a paint beast, upgraded to 85, went into rec solo, played 8 games, won em all.

Triple doubles, 40pt games, 30reb games.

I had no badges... big man got it easy lol.

Btw you get so much more rep as a big, every game was atleast 0.6% on the bar.
On my guards i get 0.3-0.4 on average

jumpshot 38 + gold catch & shoot + silver corner specialist will be enough to unlock those corner three hot zones as long as your three point rating is at least in the high 40s.

Then once you get the hot zones (it only takes 10 attempts at 40% shooting accuracy) you can swap out gold catch & shoot for gold hot zone hunter and you'll be greening all your open corner threes.

That’s exactly what I was going for my 3pt is at 48 and 62 midrange.

I don’t have js38 though. I use my own jumper (based on testing from 2klabs)

I only get 4 with my 2 Way Finisher. Silver Quick Draw and Silver Corner Specialist does the trick. 3 Point is currently at a 49. Game is trash lol. In no way shape or form should a build with a low 3 ball have a chance of greening yet here we are.

So, that's what happening? I've been playing quite a few games where the other team throw mostly alley-oops, and have a GCL to keep me out of the paint with their 3PT shooting.

Simply put, the 2k community is toxic. 3/5 games is zone, 5 out, screens, and zig zagging. I don't understand the mentality to play the game like this. We gotta get ahold of the devs to fix Rec, it's been going on for far too long when it's just 2 doors is all that's needed. Let the sweaty tryhards go against sweaty tryhards. NBA 2k21 would instantly be more fun for solo players

My best way of revenge is not quitting. I try making the game as slow and as boring as possible. They're gonna have to grind for rep going against me because I don't quit

When my man stops guarding me to double you and you're STILL not passing the ball, then I got a problem with that. I played almost two quarters where I literally camped out on the lower block which would have been an easy two points every rip. When should I quit, so you get the benefit of my avatar? That promotes even more selfish behavior ESPECIALLY if they happen to win afterwards. You're not going to freeze me out of the game like I'm some bum on the sticks.

Then I was getting irritated with the other team, because they sucked. My selfish teammates almost pulled off the win despite my protest. The other team FINALLY figured out that my team no longer had a rim protector (I had 5 blocks before I stopped playing), and scored at the rim which lead to me having to inbound the ball...which I didn't.

He tried to be cute in his message and tell me that they almost won without me. My response was "Yeah, but had you passed me the ball, the game would have been no contest, you would have had a nice statline overall, and you would have gotten more rep as a result.".

Someone made a joke about this, but I find it to be mostly true. You don't want to piss off your big. When that fool stops playing, it's about to get ugly on paint defense and rebounds. I think most bigs understand that they're not going to get the ball every possession, but damn....the line is drawn when we can't get a pass for an easy dunk after watching your stupid *ss try to break a double/triple team.
I've been VERY lucky this year as a big. I don't know what it is, maybe because I can score and shoot 3s, but guards usually pass me the ball if I'm wide open. Once I green those 2-3 shots guys get excited and keep feeding me. They sometimes even pass it to me in the post which is RARE. I've lead teams in scoring with 20-30 points a good number of times. Green/Blue & Green/Red pie Charts are probably the best big man builds.

If you're a big and can't shoot it's gonna be hard getting people to pass you the ball.

COVID basically brought it on even earlier than usual.

You forgot the weekends after about 4:30pm. Think you're gonna sit back and relax enjoying some fun basketball games after a long day of work? You're out of you damn mind. You'd better be ready to play. What's worse about weekend nights is the adult crowd gets on with their buddies. These are the high IQ/Pro Am squads so you can imagine what happens when you're on little Timmy's team

Every weekend night, it never fails

Yesterday I went into the rec with some guys from my friendslist. Most of them play together in different games. They also dabble in proam.

They lacked a 5th. I could bring whatever build I wanted, whatever overall. The lineup was a jumbles. It was just for fun.

They were elite 1 and 2.
                            I’m SS2.

First 3 games we didn’t even make it past the first half. We weren’t tryharding. No zone or 5 out. Just solid pickup basketbal, the way i’d always wanna play it.
People just quit. We we’re in the mixed queue with plus and under 92

So we changed it up. Everyone brought a +93build and for some reason, we still ended up playing against teams that mixed over and under 92.
We had 2 more games where everyone quit out before first half.
Finally the third game we had a team that stayed. They were all allstar 1 and 2’s. Still mixed overalls though.
They stayed and got destroyed 114-32.

And that’s without any sweating. No zone or 5 out. Our lineups had 1 rebounding wing. The guards were a scoring machine and offensive threat. One shooting and one inside big.
Pretty balanced but no 2-way build spam.

6 games and it was boring as ****.
