Any word on MyGM/MyLeague (franchise mode)

They’ve done a lot in the last few years, they even added some small features that I’m pretty sure not every NBA fan know about it (draft&stash, cap holds, trade exceptions, etc).

They also gave us the possibility to edit everything, MyLeague is for sure one of the best franchise modes, if you play FIFA or Madden you know the difference.

I think they are getting a little too much hate after all they have done these years, but at the same time it’s very sad to see that a historical mode has not been touched for over 2 years. And for two years they have not even tried to solve the problems of the past years.

I’m not the guy who asks for playable G-League games (don’t get me wrong, I’d love it, but it’s hard to implement) or other crazy stuff, we just want them to fix all the past bugs, we don't ask for much.

Two-way player will become 85 OVR if they spend all year in the G-League, progression and regression are totally unbalanced and unrealistic on default, auto generated draft classes have plenty of problems, the AI always sign 10 centers per team, etc.

Fix this things, maybe add some low-effort things, a couple of cut-scenes during Free Agents mettings or the draft (Like FIFA), maybe let us play some drills during the training camp period or add 2/3 preseason games, and you’ll have a happy community.

I’ve faith in next-gen games, but who knows...

If they had added carry over franchises from 2K20 it would have made more sense. I honestly don’t care if things stay the same. But I want to know how year 1 of MyLeague will be if I buy it. Do we replay 19-20? What are the rosters and timelines? I would think they would have to start with the end of year rosters and start with a draft. I’ve heard nothing tho.

Meh if 2k would've been a decent company, they would've given 2k20 buyers a free upgrade to 2k21 or at a heavy discount, for PS4 and Xbox One only of course. I mean, if all you've done is tweak some things here and there, it shouldn't count as a new game. I think sports games in general should be looking in the near future at a GTA5 type of deal where you buy NBA 2k once for x amount and you have options for updates, some are paid like major overhauls, but rosters just keep getting updated for free.

The OS Q&A did state that there would be more boom and bust potential for rookies. Wonder how that will be tied with the Potential rating. They mentioned injuries and I know I had a good rookie get a serious injury that set him back bigly in 2k20.

The ability to edit the teams real arena is a big one for me. I like to add regional and state specific ads to the scorers table. I just hated having the arenas turn generic and having to "recreate" them. The real areas, for the most part, are well done. It would be cool to be able to edit the arena sounds as well. I play 12 minute quarters so the added authentic touch makes each game feel a little more real. I also like to have ads for the star players shoes.



As for me, IF the Gleague glitch is finally fixed, I'm cool with MyLeague current gen. The on court gameplay is great. I'm not feeling the shot meter but I play with real player shooting anyway. There's still a decent amount of sliding but movement on the whole is good; players feel different. I'm a little more optimistic about MyLeague now.

Honestly, for myself, if we could get the option back to relocate/rebrand every team instead of just 3 offline, I'd be happy. That's the one thing I miss. I loved being able to change every team according to what I wanted. Mainly just the floors and jerseys were what I liked playing around with.

2k and EA games like FIFA , Madden and all the rest will never make single player modes better anymore. Why would they ? We all keep complaining each year that if this isn't fixed or if this isn't added or bla bla then we will not buy it anymore . But we always end up paying in the end like the bunch of suckers we are , EA and 2k don't make anything better and treat us like trash and yet they seem to always have more sales than the previous years . They laugh at us , we are the dumbest human beings alive to them lol There's no competition for these companies so they know we will all be back like the sheep we are . We need to stop bitchin and moaning , and truly actually don't buy these games anymore . Its a lost cause

Good info in other thread. Free agents are all signed to same team for one year at old salary. We don’t start in the offseason and they don’t have the rookie rights until the draft.

So I've been looking through YouTube at the various vids, and while most are streaming Blacktop and the CAP system (both seemingly identical to 2k20, except sig shots now have shot speed of course, and there are some new animations, I believe), I found one that shows MyLeague: https://youtu.be/WjI34UTJY_s?t=5060

Some takeaways:
- No surprise, it looks basically the same.
- You cannot start in the offseason, only in Dec. 2020 (the game's fake 2020-21 season start date), though maybe offseason will be possible once the servers come on.
- No official 2020 draft class anyway. I was probably overly optimistic but I was hoping we'd get a 2020 class that at least included the handful of rookies who have already partnered with 2k for MyTeam cards. Oh well...
- When you start your league, guys who are 2020 free agents are re-signed to the teams they're currently on for a 1-year-deal at their 2019-20 salary... for instance, Jordan Clarkson is on the Jazz with a 1-year $13.44mil contract. Yuck. By contrast, players who are under contract in 2020-21 in real life have their contract appearing correctly (ex., Joel Embiid is listed as having a 3-year contract, 2020-21 salary $29.54mil, which is accurate). What a mess. I sincerely hope starting in the offseason is activated at launch and that there's a way to import custom rosters for the offseason.
