re: NBA 2K21 Last Gen Impressions
It is still not where it should be though. More calls needed. Defending side has to feel the threat that if he jumps or runs to the shooter fast to close out, he gets the call!Comment

re: NBA 2K21 Last Gen Impressions
I agree, more calls are definitely needed, but what I like is that you can punish the defenders for close outs & errant jumps much more consistently this year. Your not held in place by forcefields and do a quick burst to the rim. That's why I'm shocked at criticism of the motion...its night and day from 19-20. Not a bunch of glue on the perimeter.
When you guys say the contest radius is too large....on default sliders in 2K20, its rare that quick space creation moves like step backs/ dribble pull ups can be pulled off without showing up as 50% contested or higher.
Not seeing this as the case in 2K21 so far.Comment

re: NBA 2K21 Last Gen Impressions
Overall the gameplay improves every year
Things I’d love to see next gen:
1. More offensive fouls such as charging. Like it or not it’s a big part of the game (smart, Lowry) and not reflected in 2k
2. More of the in between hesitation moves. Lots of guys will get past their man.. slow down with their butt extended behind them to ward off the defender before speeding towards the basket. In 2k there isn’t as much of a stop and go or hesitation game. That’s how guys like Kemba, Lillard, etc play
3. I still would wish for “simulation” “arcade” play styles. For single player guys sliders are always an option but due to the number of patches and gameplay tweaks I often like to use 2ks base settings. A sim setting may help wjth things others don’t want to deal wjth (offensive fouls being one example)Comment

Is the damn game fun thats all I want to know.
This new age generation of nerds that need perfect quantum physics in a video game makes reading comments unbearable.

re: NBA 2K21 Last Gen Impressions
Yes. Much improved from a basketball standpoint in terms of realism.
I had a blast with 20 and I’m having even more fun with 21. If you want a fun, realistic , offline experience, this is your game.
If you just want to run and gun and dunk online, it’s also your game. I’m having fun.

re: NBA 2K21 Last Gen Impressions
Just some random clips of some things I appreciate-
Love how I can let Lou Will be Lou Will off the bench and not just another spot up shooter. This was pre hotfix PNO.
I'm probably caged in after that pump fake in 2K20.
Knew he was switching and jumping in this one. Love the control over the finishes.

The way they could implement this is by renaming Casual/Arcade mode to “Realistic” and Simulation mode to “Totally Lame BS Mode Where You Can’t Shoot 70% From 3 Like Players Do In Real Life.”Comment

re: NBA 2K21 Last Gen Impressions
I gave up years ago on sports games ever being sim; it ain't gonna happen, there's just to big of an audience to cater to and too much money involved. No company is going to market exclusively to just a small segment (sim crowd) of a gaming population."Behind every fortune is a crime"Comment

re: NBA 2K21 Last Gen Impressions
Some things i noticed. This is on HOF vs the cpu.
1. The user defense and weight is perfect. Cant just turbo around on defense.
2. Can make shots if you focus and prepare to shoot before shooting.
3. Layups with the shot stick is legit and fun.
4. The cpu will actually turn the ball over, for the fist time in years.
5. The CPU makes to many contested layups.
6. Even when you place your defenders in off ball gap they are pressing up on the perimeter and getting beat on back door cuts.
7. The cpu defenders warp around screens and are to "sticky" on defense.
8. There needs to be more fouls called on jumpshot contests.
9. The cpu smothers the 3 point line and gives up the paint, and offensive board.
The mechanics of this game lead me to believe that the user vs. user games will be excellent. However, playing the cpu on default is still not very realistic.Psn: Alabamarob
