That's almost impossible.
I think you're thinking I'm saying something a little different than I actually am. All I'm trying to get at here is that the base percentage for a "slightly" release should probably be at or just below that player's regular percentage. It's not all that high a standard, just a simple probability that is already represented at the free throw line. The variance should occur when hitting that so-called "green" window" or missing the release in the direction of straight left or right or, for the button folks, late or early. I think we'd both agree that where it's at in this moment isn't reflective of what's going on when an NBA player takes a three point shot.

It's not a "special, perfect balance," it's just the probability of a made shot reflecting real shooting numbers.

That's crazy, hopefully Mike seems this, I will shoot him a message.

The side steps were NICE in the demo.

That was my favorite part of the demo. I wonder why he took out the sidesteps. They have been in the game for multiple years

Mikes had to fix some dribble irregularities the last couple of years...hopefully this is just one of those things.

              Sure it wasn't blocked?

A common criticism I've heard about the last couple of 2K's is that they didn't feel like the 'modern game'...more like the mid 00's.

I feel like 2K21 is an improvement there.

It wasn’t blocked or tipped by a player?

Loving the movement and seeing some new animations. Pace and space seems on point.

BUT...... shooting is a chore. I understand it must be difficult to tune because of the park guys that are really good at hunting 3's and green releases. But they should get a mode of their own like "competitive" in Madden where the stick skills decide outcomes.

For offline sim guys like myself all of the fun is gone. It's a chore. I can run my offense, get a quality shot and be slightly off or slightly early/late and all of good ball movement goes for naught because the meter is so punitive.

The meter is small and even good shooters in hot zones have to be darn near "green" perfect to hit a jumper. Slightly left/right or slightly early/late hit at about 10% maybe less. That's not "slight". Might as well be an airball.

I guess I'll have to screw with sliders in order to not make the game itself easier but to make the shooting better to where I don't have to thread a needle or get a little line perfectly in another little line for a professional basketball player to hit a shot.

Mike has to make the meter bigger man. I don’t know if my eyes are getting worse but this year and last year the meter have been way too small for and I never had a problem with it in 18 and 19.

Shot aiming not for me. Turned it off and having a blast. So far anyway, unlike 2K20 on PC, game hasn't crashed on me. NBA 2K20 was a crash fest on PC. Definitely like the movement this year and how good the AI is. Dame and CJ was killing me from 3. So far all the teams I played against, the star players played like their real life selves. I noticed they got rid of the reaction attribute. Love that you can edit the WNBA roster in the main menu now.

Soooo you can turn off this clunky shooting/aim mechanic and play without the arcade meter to go back to 'normal' shooting with Real Player% ?

If not, it's a deal breaker.

It felt like that in the demo too. Was hoping it would be a bit more forgiving in the full version

Same. I have a 60 inch TV and I have to sit like, 3 feet away from it just so I can see anything. In the moment, trying to read the defense and go straight into a layup animation, it's difficult to zero in on the meter, and then where the "bar" is, and where my "line" is as well.

It's still early, though. Definitely a learning curve, but I feel like, if you're just starting, don't jump straight into the action. It's not even this All-Star defense that is making me miss, it's just trying to get used to trying to keep track of 2 separate things in the aiming system, as opposed to just one in the timing system.

Head to the gym and get some practice laying it up without the defense.

I’ve learned this lesson a few years back and haven’t bought the last few iterations. Basically it’s become a Fortnite basketball game.
