Anyone else experiencing it when you go to the bench the other team scores an impossible number of points and gets a huge lead in only a couple minutes?

I sat out 3 minutes of a finals game and a 9 point lead was a 10 point deficit when I came back.

I ended up with a +/- like 30 higher than my bench in that game (5 minute quaters!)

This happens almost regularly for me when facing good teams. We could have a 12 point lead with 2:36 left in the second quarter before I go sit. At halftime we could be down like 10 which is just ridiculous.

This has seemingly always been an issue but I've noticed it happens when you hit 'sim until you enter game' but when you actually watch the possessions in real time it rarely if ever happens.

I am 33 games into MyCareer. Anyone has the ability to adjust rotations and playbooks yet? I don’t know if 2K took it out or not. I really would like to adjust our horrible lineup and add some 3pt plays since we currently don’t have any.

Appreciate it. I was thinking it was removed. So I just demanded a trade out of Philly. They were so bad at making open shots and Horford at the 4 and Simmons at the 3 was awful. Being traded to the Bucks was the best move I’ve made. Actually got me looking forward to games.

I got my blue/yellow post scoring 7'2 guy up to 84 and got a lot of HoF badges, just getting bonus stuff now. He's got no J, and that was a slight oversight, mainly because I didn't even give him FTs and he gets there a ton. When I remake for nxgn I'm going to prol divert some to FT.


Now, two thoughts of MyCareer for those who want to read along:


I've spent quite a bit of time messing with builds and pie charts. I kind of think in a game like this you are playing yourself if you you choose a build without two sets of Hall of Fame badges, but I guess that's not true if you are ALLMAX 95 in a lot of your main attributes. Still, that counts out the half builds they added in.



Build wise, I don't think that there is that much you can do. Even if you decide "I don't want a 3" which is the ultimate sin in 2k (which I do all the time hehhh), there just aren't a lot of choices. This needs to be taken care of. I really wish, for instance, you could choose pies inside of pies. Metaphorically. For instance, my shot creating post scorer before pies had 85 mid, 68 3. I mean, given how wack the meta is, why couldn't you let a guy who is like 75-72 have a choice of 65 3 and 85 mid. Sell out on a possible three for a CASH mid. Useful for A LOT of builds. And do that with defense, playmaking, etc. Maybe lock out certain badges for each one.


Thought two is that people think the era of super bigs is done. I think in some way the era of max height, max weight bigs might be done, but my guy is gonna get 50 speed. He's not really a lob master, but he's 7'2 and can rebound/block/steal with low stats. I also don't know if a red 6'11 guy or w/e could stop him. I think the key with making tall guys is just not be worried about shooting. 7'3 tends to push you below speed and below the 50 contact dunk req. I don't see any reason to be max weight if it makes you mad slow, either. I think my guy has 80 str.



I feel like you could build a team around that kind of player, and I think that people are really underestimating how massively OP post scoring was, at least at launch, I haven't gotten a good enough bite to tell if it's still bodies. Gonna play now thoe.

Still missing out on around 1600 VC every other game because it just doesn’t add to my account. Thought it was because endorsement meetings were happening after the game and it was glitching the vc, but now I’m noticing it on games where that’s not the case too. Easily missed out on atleast 18k VC from this. Made a ticket and updated it like 2 weeks ago, no one has said a word to me.


Anyone else still have this annoying problem?

I kinda stopped playing career after I won the championship but I was getting it too along with nothing for daily bonuses. 2K support did squat for me so don’t hold your breath.

The shooting has been absolutely ridiculous for me, I can't hit a single jumper. And I mean not a single one. I think I'm shooting less than 10% on wide open threes, probably around 15% on wide open twos. 82 3-point and midrange. Tested out a few different jumpers. I have silver/gold catch & shoot, flexible release, difficult shots, steady shooter and range extender.

Any tips or should I go back to NBA2k20? This has been an awful game so far for me.

The AI defense for the Cavs is horrible

Drummond will literally come from the paint on D and double the PG in already guarding leaving his man wide open

The original scoring machine blue/green SG I first made is long gone. Had cold spots on literally every area of the court at one point

Now I have a 6'7" 2-way finisher SF 84 OVR that I'm liking. Can be tough going up against big men sometimes in the park, but I've got Gold Rebound Chaser & HOF Rim Protector to try and help. I've had a few games with 2-4 blocks ever since adding Rim Protector.

Also working on a 6'6" sharpshooting facilitator (pure green chart) currently a 75 OVR. Plan to use mostly for playing with my friends since one also has a two-way finisher. Liking this so far and shooting much much better now. Also has good potential for defense with like a 7'0" wingspan and 9 defensive badges.

A couple of thoughts

1. WHY are there so many horrid defenders in the park? Like not even ppl whose build is just not made for defense, but like people who literally just don't play defense? Don't they wonder why they're losing?? My friend and I played with at least 3 or 4 teammates who just hemorrhaged points.

2. Could 2K stand to increase the VC you get in park games some? I would like to not have to play so many dang NBA games but I still need VC to build my guys and the park barely gives any.

3. Too bad they still didn't implement some type of matchmaking in park. A couple nights ago, my friend basically ragequit on me with the combo of dumb teammates and having to wait like 5-10 minutes between every game...

this is my main dude right now. I took the low vert phys for some reason, but he's gonna have 50 speed, which ain't bad for 7'2.


Happy with every aspect except I should have gotten about 60 FT. You should see him speed boost out of a cross over haha.

Is there any way to make your NBA team run a specific freelance offense during the games in MyCareer?

I hate how you have to sort of improvise everything and no one ever sets an off-ball screen for me (let alone a double pindown screen type play) so I can never get open without just running around like a headless chicken and hoping the CPU defender gets caught up in some traffic.
