Even if they didn’t say a word until the day before release, people will still buy it, in fact, people have already paid for it.

For the guys thinking the game will.be bare bones Mike Wang already stated on a 2ktv episode that next gen 2k21 will have all features and modes the current 2k has but a lot more.

He also hinted to there being big feature update dealing with the WNBA possibly a WNBA myleague i would guess, and female character creation was leaked a while ago too so that's a few nuggets of info I have seen that aren't currently in 2k21 on current gen.

If they actually built a new engine from the ground up for next gen expect a very stripped down game because they can’t do that and include a full spectrum of modes/ features......... I assume it’ll be great looking and play at a smoother frame rate but as far as a new game like u lead on about I have serious doubts for that in year 1

I mean this could be true but they had a separate team making the next gen game so I’m sure they were able to give the game much attention. Plus Mike Wang claims it’s not stripped. So I guess we will see.

Seems like a bad business model to make a superior game feature-wise on different platforms.......kind of really banking on the fact that the majority of ppl upgrade systems immediately which I’m not sure is gonna be the case overall

I’ll tell u why because it slims the market......no one will buy the game on the “lesser” platforms if u do that which in turn would hurt the sale numbers overall.......why would anyone pay basically the same price for a inferior game...... makes zero sense

Console gamers outnumber PC gamers, so resources would be best utilized developing for the console market. Developing a "next-gen" game based on the PC wouldn't make sense when the majority of your users are on consoles. PC gamers have always had the advantage of the mod community, so I'm not really sure what point you're trying to make.

Not really. They know what they're doing with this series in terms of sales. It has truly blown up the last few years and nobody would've ever imagined the series would ever reach a number like over 14 million units sold for 2K20 for example.

I suspect the plan is similar to 2K14 in that they're going to go all in on the tech side of things and fully take advantage of these upcoming systems. I think it may surprise some like 2K14 did at the time.

As for the PC side of things, like for a lot of other devs/publishers, consoles revenue outnumbers PC by quite a sizable margin. You can see the split on Take-Two latest quarterly earnings here: https://ir.take2games.com/node/26956/pdf

It shows "net revenue by platform mix" with Consoles at 74% and PC and other at 26%. Now, that isn't just NBA 2K, but other series for the publisher, but the point still generally stands. Bulk of average consumers are on a console, not a capable gaming PC, so consoles receive most of the attention by far.

That would be a pleasant addition. I don't know if I'd touch it, but I would hope they completely overhaul myleague and add many features to that mode as well. not that there was anything wrong with it besides not including additional features, but it wasn't touched for a while.

tbh, I'd like to see a playable G-League, or an overseas component, hopefully they can bring back Turkish league or euro league. they never really did anything with it's implementation besides being playable in play now mode.

Does it really even matter when you get to see it? New systems arent even available. Makes litteraly no difference to get a first look now or in a month. I understand you might be curious like a lot of people but is it really that much of an issue?
