Re: Harden wants to break 2k.
I def count bron's 4th I mean it's not like only he had 4 months off plus it's like teams had 4 extra months to figure out how to stop the Lakers, all their momentum from the reg season was gone so fresh slate, and he STILL won. It's even more impressive than a normal 'chip really. Overcame all the adversity and hardships to be the last one standing in a craazy difficult year, proving he is the best in the league stillComment

Re: Harden wants to break 2k.
Imagine saying the 2016 Cavs was a poor mans version of the "Heatles". LMAO. That Cavs team was so deep. Their offense was lightyears ahead of the Heat teams LeBron played on. Do you even watch basketball?? Norris Cole was the 6th man. Dude isnt even in the league anymore. 35 yr old Battier, 36 yr old Birdman, 34 yr old Rashard Lewis. Like what bro? Look at their per 36 min stats. On top of all that.. they came back down 3-1 vs a 73 win team. That last Heat team got beat down bad by the Spurs, who were definitely a good team but nothing compared to that Warriors team.
Lebron on the Heat vs. Lebron on the Cavs, which version was better? Obviously the younger, bigger, faster, better post-scorer, better shooting, DEFENSIVE JUGGERNAUT version of Lebron on the Heat. I mean seriously, that version of Lebron ALONE even compared to his 2016 self is enough to make the Cavs inferior to the Heat.
Then the #2 player, Wade vs. Kyrie. Wade is also the clearly superior player here.
And the 3rd wheel: Bosh vs. Love. C'mon. No contest. Remove the rose-tinted glasses from Love's iconic defensive possession at the end of the game against Curry. Bosh is the clearly better player and a MUCH better complement to Lebron's game.
Then compare the supporting cast of both teams: A bunch of old players and young burnouts, supposed "3 and D" role players that forget how to shoot open 3s in the finals. And don't even make me talk about JR Smith...
So yea, the Heat and the Cavs were remarkably similar teams. The Heat were just, easily, the better version of the two on average.Comment

Re: Harden wants to break 2k.
Curry and Klay, Lillard and McCollum, Bradley Beal, Jokic
Also if Westbrook, Blake Griffin, and Demar Derozan hadn't been traded they would've gladly stayed on their original teams until retirement.
Truth be told, this is exactly the reason I haven't watched the nba in years. I used to have league pass and talk about the game religiously. The moment KD went to the Warriors, it was the last straw for me. I didn't like where I saw the Nba headed, so I just quit cold turkey.
Rockets in the 90s were making "super teams" left and right, with getting Drexler and then later getting Barkley. Lakers and Celtics in the 80s were doing it too.Comment

I wouldn't call Olajuwon, Barkley, Pippen, & Drexler in their mid 30's a super team by any means. Durant joining Curry, Klay, & Draymond ALL in their primes and Lebron joining Wade & Bosh in their primes is a super team.Comment

Re: Harden wants to break 2k.
Yup.
People tend to disregard the players ages when talking about super teams.
Comparing players past their prime to players about to enter their prime is just silly.

Re: Harden wants to break 2k.
Barkley joined Houston at age 33. Kevin Durant is currently 32 coming off an Achilles Tear. Barkley had led Phoenix to the championship just a few years prior.
Harden is 31 and has never led a team to the NBA finals.
Hakeem was just 2 seasons removed from winning back to back championships. The same amount of seasons removed from winning back to back that Durant currently is.
I'll give you that Drexler was end of career but was still putting up numbers. I also recall at the time people were complaining about Houston being a super team before the 96-97 season. Drexler's numbers though was on par with the 3rd option of modern superteams. 18ppg is like Bosh, Ray Allen status.Comment
