    Re: NBA 2k21 How’s Your MyLeague/MyNBA..?

I started a new myNBA with the Spurs. I knew I lack shooting and I wanted to get rid of Dieng and Lyles. So i made the following trade.

Dieng, Lyles and Raynolds to the Rockets for Eric Gordon and DJ Wilson.

I am playing using CelticLG's roster and schnaidt's sliders. Will update after a couple of games

    So here's my starting Five.

It's 2035 and the Mitchell Robinson era is coming to and end in New York. It has been an era of wild success, with 7 championships, and this last season still saw them make the finals, though they lost to Portland in 6 (my West team). Some might question blowing up a team that just made the finals, but Portland is a young team on the rise, while Robinson is 37, Randle is long retired, and NYKs primary scorer, Rod Finley, is now 32 at the tail of his prime.

We trade Finley (89 OVR) and our PF Sullivan (85) to UTA for pick 5 and a horrific Bagley contract to make salaries work. UTA has a 92 OVR PG and it makes sense for them to use this shortcut to competitiveness. Robinson sadly leaves in FA, though I suppose I should have offered him a a bunch of money to retire here while we tank. We draft a young stretch 5 Lopez at the 5th pick and begin the rebuild.

Over in the West the Blazers are riding high off a championship with their new young core (we'd done a rebuild a few years prior after Lillard's retirement). However rookie contracts are running out and there are far too many guys who need to be paid. We trade away our oldest star, 31 year old PG Perdue (88) who was making 42mil, and expect to pay about 35-38m/yr to our SF Klein (87). But he instead signs a gigantic 4 yrs 190m offer in RFA that we are forced to swallow.

Then to make matters worse, our other priority, resigning our glass cleaning C KWill (83) goes sour, as he rejects our 25m offer due to being upset at lack of involvement in the offense. You're a defender/rebounder dude! Because of the Klein contract I cannot offer the 36m it would take to appease him (and wouldn't really want to pay that for an 83 OVR). He takes a 25m offer from a different team and leaves with a lot of bad blood all around.

So in the end we lose both our starting PG and Center and have only the MLE and min contracts to work with, all in a all a total disaster. Ironically I blew up the Knicks on the assumption Portland would come back just as strong, but they could probably have given this weakened Blazers team a good fight!

How patient are you guys with your teams after a big deal? I made a big trade in the 2024 offseason to pair up Cade Cunningham with Donovan Mitchell in Vancouver. I enjoy playing with both a lot, but they're each doing best with the other one missing or on the bench. Im starting to think that a 20-10 guy at PF would be a better fit alongside Cunningham and rising star forward Palionis, who could handle the ball a lot more. I will definitely let the season and especially the playoffs play out, but I like the idea of trading Mitchell again for a PF better then trying to force it with three more or less ball dominant players...

Not very patient, if it doesn't work out in the playoffs I usually change something. Assuming I can identify what went wrong, and there's a reasonable deal to be made that could fix it. Sometimes there's no good move and you just hope to get luckier next year.

            Re: NBA 2k21 How’s Your MyLeague/MyNBA..?

The 2024/25 season is a really strange one for Vancouver. The addition of Donovan Mitchell was supposed to make them a contender, but there is a concerning lack of chemistry. The 34-18 doesn't show the problems inside the team. The fit in the backcourt between Cunningham and Mitchell doesn't seem to be there and the defense is awful. Vancouver has a bottom 10 defense in the league, a problem the flip of Garuba for Hunter didn't fix. Bench scoring is another concern, so is rebounding. The Kraken are bottom ten in both points off the bench and defensive rebounding. However, Vancouver should be almost a lock for the playoffs despite an injury that keeps Cunningham off the court a couple of weeks. Sophomore Ernestas Palionis improved a lot and provides scoring alongside Mitchell who will earn his first All-Star nod since 2020. Thats enough to get into the playoffs but I can't see this team make a deep run.

So, how to fix the many problems? It's a frustrating realization, but the duo of Cunningham and Mitchell propably doesn't have a future. It seems better to break it up as long as Mitchell is still fairly young and has a lot of value. Cunningham is the future and already one of the leagues best guards. But he needs the ball, a lot. And as he hasn't improved as a defender, so the better fit in the backcourt should be a 3&D guy instead of another ball dominant guy. Luckily, someone like that is already on the roster. With Mitchell gone, DiVincenzo could return to the starting lineup. He didn't work out as a 6th man anyway and he is a better defender than Mitchell.

But not all solutions will come from within. The two main needs I want to adress is a pick&roll partner for Cunningham and someone who can provide scoring and create his own shot off the bench. A trade of Mitchell should at least fulfill one of these needs. A good fit could be John Collins. The pick&roll game with him and Cunningham could be lethal. He also can provide rebounding and some defense which should take a little of the defensive load off the shoulders of Makur Maker.

The current team is by no means bad. The core of Cunningham and Palionis with Maker, Brandon Clarke, DiVincenzo and Darko Ristic is very promising. But Donovan Mitchell isn't the final piece I hoped him to be.

Started a MyNBA with the Lakers and played the Clippers in the opening game. Was winning until Scheroder threw the inbounds pass to Pandemic P (Uncle Shay's nickname for him not mine). Then Pandemic P shot the game winning three to beat me. The crowd at Staples erupted. Could have been mixed though considering Staples is the house that Shaq and Kobe built.

Can anyone here recommend some good MyLeague sliders? I’ve messed around with them a bit and feel like I’ve gotten them pretty close to how I want them in terms of progression, regression, and trades. The thing that’s currently killing me is contracts. They’re mostly okay, sometimes young players want too much money but ultimately sign with a someone else on a one year deal. The thing that’s really bugging me is that teams will let their good RFAs go unrestricted in order to sign lesser free agents. I feel like I can sign most good young players besides, like, Luka if I wait out the CPU to sign an aging vet and rescind their qualifying offers. Is this fixable with sliders or is it hard coded behavior?

I'm playing the full 82-game season with 9-minute quarters. I'm shooting for a sort of hybrid NBA/NCAA feel to my games. Foul outs at 5 and scoring 100 is a good night offensively. Most of my games are in the 80s and 90s.

I was racking my brain trying to figure what setup I wanted. I settled on 82 games and 6 min quarters. I set the league to play 6 min quarters too. The way I play my stats line up to the rest of the league. I know it’s short but now that I started I’m having fun with it. Got four games in yesterday. I am an expansion team. The only problem I’m having is getting the CPU to make some baskets.

First game I played on All Star, second Superstar, third HOF. Winning the first two easily and third game I won on last second shot. Fourth game I really bumped up CPU shooting sliders. My shooting pct is fine... 43 to 48% in the four games. CPU is only shooting 35% against me. If I can just get their pct up I’ll be ok. Now I haven’t played any power houses yet. First two games were against the Bulls, third against the Condors(Hornets real life roster), and fourth was against the Pacers.

Evened up my season with the Lake Show. 1-1. I’m looking to unload Kuzma and possibly Drummond and see what the best available deals are for both of them.

I'm 24-16 in my Hawks franchise. We've won five straight to move into fifth in the East. Only made one move so far, trading Rondo to the Rockets for P.J. Tucker and a second-round pick. The Rockets still have Harden in my franchise, so they're still trying to compete.

I keep starting over because I can’t settle on length of season and game and whether to be Knicks or my own expansion team. But yesterday I restarted a 30 game 12min expansion team season. I had a fun game against the Hawks. Back and forth throughout, tied at HT with the Hawks eventually beating me 111-105. Trae Young was Trae Young… 27pts 10 assists.
