Its 2021, I would think most people here would already know that arguing with "TheReal2kInsider" is basically useless. Dude makes a living on insulting people unnecessarily in the forums, like hes the know-it-all of the 2k community. Its literally been years and I wouldnt be able to count in 2 hands the ammount of times I've seen this dude being ignorant towards people in this site, and the mods dont do anything about it. I think it was 2 or 3 years ago he and another guy turned a thread into a stupid discussion about one being better at life, having more money, being more educated than the other, over a ****ing game. The thing went on for like 10 pages.

But then again im just accostumed to this happening in here, Ive been here for 15+ years, had another account i forgot the password when i was a teenager. I guess theres a lot of new people here who are not yet accostumed to how things go on in the threads.

If you're not a fan of the game just put it down there's no need to repeat what these guys say verbatim on every message board.

For whatever it's worth, there's plenty of folks out there who don't buy the game but remain invested in its quality over the long haul. I like dipping back into the forums every now and again to see where things stand and to maybe offer my two cents in certain feedback threads (like the classic accessories thread) in hopes the game gets to a point that'd warrant my purchase again in the future.

For a lot of folks here, I imagine they're big NBA fans and want a great basketball video game, so that's what they're hoping for. And when that doesn't happen (in their opinion), it's understandably frustrating. I saved money by not buying this year but honestly, I'd rather have a fulfilling basketball game.

There’s a difference in someone who’s genuinely interested in constructive criticism in an effort to improve things and people who just love the bashing culture that has been created and love to emptily complain........ to repost something a YouTuber made like that is not helpful and just pointless honestly

I think that's something alot of people in pretty much every video game fandom tend to do at times; they get so invested in something that they forget how to take agency over their own free time and interests and after a while end up sort of "drifting along" doing something they no longer enjoy just because its familiar, which is a bad thing.

In retail, it was fairly common to deal with a certain type of customer.....they would come a few times a week, buy maybe 1 small item, and loudly complain about how bad the store is and never has anything they want the entire time to anyone that would listen. Yet twice every week, year after year, there they would be like clockwork, making a purchase and hollering about how they're "never going to shop here again".

If a game habitually upsets you and you can't do anything to fix the situation, don't be "I'm never going to shop here again" guy. It's ok (and better for your health) to put it down and go do something else you enjoy for a while then come back to it later.

same thing used to happen when 2k NBA first released on PC. Patches were slow to come and the communication between 2k and users were quiet.

This could be for a number of reasons. fixing issues on a new platform may be a bit more complex, and the tools used are still being developed. developers/testers may not be up to speed with the tools. There is definitely a learning curve

lack of man power. supporting a game on multiple platforms requires alot of man hours.

I doubt 2k has abandoned the game. I say once 2k is 2-3 release cycles in on the new gen consoles things will smooth out.

I’m just going to assume they’ve moved on to 2K22 earlier because of the pandemic. I don’t think PNR Defense is getting patched this year either.

Honestly outside of an OP dribble move or jumpshot they don’t really patch gameplay like they used to, ever since 2K17. They dropped a ton of gameplay patches that year and it really messed up the game, particularly passing speeds. The community complained a ton and they’ve toned down on the patches since then.

This is kinda where my mind is at too. NBA 2K21 is definitely not the worse game that I played. It's alright by personal standards. Majority of my problem this year was the new shooting mechanics. Beyond that...I have some complaints, but nothing "super major". Mostly stuck with PNO, because I still haven't worked up the desire to play REC and deal with the OP PF builds.

All of this is the result of lack of competition in the sports gaming market.

Sigh...there are PLENTY of other sports games in the market...if you're talking specifically NBA Live, well...they had their chance and BLEW it.

You know whats sad (at least for me) Next gen 2k was a huge reason I got the series x. Not the only reason but huge. I thought well I enjoyed 2k20 so upgrading should be awesome. Nope lol. D is so terrible. Why can I just run around a defender for a layup or dunk?

Myleague been the same for years. I played nba2k20 myleague alot using my imagination to try to make it more immersive. Kinda boring but no new bugs. Mynba bugs bugs bugs. Draft classes superhuman with 99 physical attributes everywhere, attribute progression not working and gleague 99 player potential. Its a shame. Next gen 70 dollar game with Next gen 500 dollar console and this is what we got with no communication.

Also freakin Microsoft or 2k hasn't enabled quick resume with the game.

The difference is, I levy my complaints towards the studio/company, rather than specific employees.

Do try to understand the difference.

I've met all three of the people referenced. They're real people, and some of the hardest working people in the industry. Sorry if I won't stand idly by while some peon tries to pin overarching issues on a handful of people that are doing the absolute best they can with the hand they're dealt.

If you think singling out the bus driver for being late is going to get you to your destination faster, much less fix the systemic issues that may have lead to a blip in service, good luck with that.

Beluba is a big boy, he's a grown man, I think he can handle himself. Ronnie2k probably gets too much of the brunt of the mob noise tbh haha. Beluba is probably making $300k+ per year, I think he can handle some "criticism". He's the Gameplay DIRECTOR, with that, he holds some responsibility for how the game plays or if it fails. Badges OP? Arcade? Terrible gameplay balance? His fault. Enough of the excuses, everyone always makes excuses for the guy. I think the guys likeable, we want to root for him, but he's fallin off, he's let 2K turn into a Casino with a side of basketball. "Well it's the higher ups callin the shots". Psshh, great, but Beluba car salesman bs-es us every year with some pretend commitment to 'basketball' and 'realism' by 2K and that this game is a simulation or that they gaf. I'm sure that's marketing, but it doesn't make me trust the guy. These "sim" blogs every year are mostly bs and they cater to Sim Nation when they need us and then flip us off after our money is already spent, til the next launch.

They need Rob Jones back desperately. That guy actually kept the 2K accountable to Sim Nation and basketball.

They also need to start more of being called out, til the disappointment with the product is undeniable, instead of apologists appeasing them. Only then will this game start going back in a better direction. Right now, 2K is complacent af. That's what a monopoly creates.

1) It's a monopoly, there are no other basketball games on the market

2) For many, it's love of basketball not love of whatever 2K's alternate version of basketball has become

3) Complaining means people CARE about the game / product / sport. Apathy is when 2K should be worried.

4) Feedback is literally how companies get better and come back with better iterations...
