Struggle with reading comprehension there chief? I CLEARLY said that the opportunity to take huge chunk of the market (nba videogames) is astronomical. All they have to do is find a way to develop a product worth switching for. NBA live used to run the NBA basketball game world. EA is a billion dollar company. They have all the resources readily available to make a great product. But as we've seen lately, the development team is just not up to par.

Okay...let me say it differently. NBA Live is CLEARLY not the game to take advantage of that opportunity.

It always amazes me the amount of expert video game developers we have here at OS...

I'm more amazed that people believe that having money means problem can be fixed immediately.

Personally, I'm in the camp...if one of the lead developers hints that the problem can't be fixed until the next title, then I just leave it at that. Let's not fool ourselves. Unless they come out with a surprise patch that doesn't address art this late in the release, NBA 2K21 is what it is at this point.

So I'm assuming that all the players in the generated draft classes still have very slow releases then? Starting to look like they aren't going to bother fixing that.

I can understand the people who didn't get the memo, so to speak, being pretty upset that such a foundational aspect of basketball defense wasn't going to be functional for the whole cycle, but I feel really fortunate to have gotten the info so early, it was sobering, but it made my decision not to purchase much easier.

May be off subject, but I know Bolmaro received a scan a couple of patches ago. However, he's not in the main roster. Anyone know of a way to find the scan and export it? I'd love to import him into MyNBA with the scan.

True. Maybe I have a negative perspective on the PnR, but I feel like it's been broke for several years in the sense that it's so easily abused. Also, I just run the freelances and quick plays. For me, being able to call for a screen is not a big deal to me. Defending it is just a chore though.

I don't know if the pick and roll can ever truly replicate real life. In real life you usually have to have amazing court vision to see all the options available after the screen
However in 2k you as a ballhandler have a view of the entire court.

People need to stop making this excuse for 2K. Of course they can put effective PnR defense in the game. Make defenders actually react to the drive instead of literally standing still and watching, for one. Make the AI capable of realizing “Oh, Curry has the ball so I should probably switch on this pick so he doesn’t get an open 3”, or “Simmons has the ball, so I should drop down to protect the paint instead of coming out to contest the 3”. Simple.

Also make help defense into something more than “corner defender abandons a great perimeter shooter to try and protect the paint while the rest of the defense just leaves that shooter wide open”. The AI should know how to prioritize which players to leave open when rotating to help, and there should be a second/third/fourth rotation on the perimeter so that we actually see plays that revolve swinging the ball around to multiple players working for an open shot.

It's actually fun to use with layups, just needs to be tweaked for jump shots. They're just going to improve on it and bring back in a few years as a new feature.

Good. I so hated shot aiming. It just made shooting with RS so much harder overall and unresponsive at times.
