Just let us earn a lot of VC in the mode and I see no problem. That would give people a lot more incentive to play it. I played it last year and got bored but If I could earn say 1000 VC a game maybe more I'd play it a lot more often.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I don’t follow the WNBA at all, but I’m really looking forward to giving it some run in 2k22. If you think about it, being unfamiliar with the personalities in the WNBA means that in 2k it’s like having an extremely polished fictional league, complete with cyberfaces, etc., and fictional rosters can be fun because you’re not as hampered by realism concerns (“LeBron would never sign in NoLA wtf?!?!”).

Didn’t play WNBA in 2k21 because it wasn’t as feature-rich as I wanted (understandable; it’s new), but I’m looking forward to seeing what’s new in WNBA franchise mode in particular. Hopefully it’s identical to the men’s league in functionality.

Thumbs up. I’ll add that video games can be a great ‘gateway drug’ to sports leagues. If improvements to the WNBA in 2k lead to more people playing it, they’ll gain familiarity with the league and have a better chance of tuning in to the actual sport and becoming fans. I’m not a WNBA fan but I’m hoping that 2k will make me one.

On the gaming front, 2K has the NBA fan market on lock. We're not not going to buy the game and they know it. In addition to marketing the WNBA, which the NBA wants, they could also squeeze out some new sales to a new demographic. There's growth potential there. It's like that 2K league thing. I couldn't care any less about it but 2K or the NBA sees something there. I'll probably dabble with the WNBA before not touching it again. If nothing else it's a value add.

You’d think at this point they’d market themselves as a separate product. It’s been 20 years and they still need the NBA to subsidize them.

It’s been a failed business venture for 2 decades now, the nba needs to stop catering to the woke crowd that doesn’t support their league.

Parents are "amazing" and are better, smarter, and more mature than everyone else who doesn't have kids because they got someone pregnant or got pregnant, and did what they're supposed to afterwards. Got it. Here's your trophy. That type of entitled arrogance is an epidemic.

WNBA can open a new fanbase and potential customers to the series and it does 2K no good if they don't continue add and improve to the mode.

I don't see how having a blog about it is "shoving it down our throats." The first blog was about "Seasons." Was that also being shoved down our throats? We are getting blogs for My Career, My NBA, The City, and My Team. So I guess all those modes are also being shoved down our throats because 2K is dedicating time to talk about how those modes have been changed and improved.

I don't understand why some people seem to have issues when modes they don't care about get attention. I'm mostly an offline player but I understand there are other modes in the game that other players are interested in. I simply focus on the stuff I care about an ignore everything else. It's that easy.

Not so much the blog post, more so about the existence and attention the mode itself gets when there's 1000s of other things in the game they should be paying people to create. Every developer and designer that works on WNBA is one less they could be paying to work on the modes that actually matter. Probably the stupidest ROI for 2K I've ever seen. No one plays WNBA in 2K22 or watches the WNBA, so it's basically just a public service feel good story or the WNBA's last ditch attempt to create interest in their failed version of the sport.

How bout this scenario -- whatever mode you play the most gets ignored for 5 years while WNBA gets 100x the innovation and resources. In that scenario, with your logic, no one should care. You may say "2K has enough resources" but there's literally never enough for any company. More is always better. There's a ton of things they could put that money towards -- better servers, better innovation like VR, etc etc

Until they spice it up it's going nowhere on basketball talent alone. It basically needs to become the XFL but for basketball for people to watch lol. I'm glad it exists so that both sexes have a professional sport to strive for, but as a product that generates fans and revenue, it's been bad for awhile.

                            I quit 2k21 around in January/Febuary when I knew for a fact I wasn't gonna get a PS5 or Xbox Series X.

Was the WNBA ever playable online in 21 next gen? Is it playable online in 22? If not, then what's the point of any of this if we can't use the real players online?

It's not a separate product, though. It's all the NBA. The league is a business so they must see some value in the WNBA. Who cares if the NBA subsidies it? The NBA is worth billions why do I care how they spend their money.

The Euroleague has some of the best players in the world and pays millions. It's fine. 2K had the Euroleague for a few years and dropped them. As sloppy as they were I actually enjoyed playing with the different players and I started following the league. I'd have never done that if not for 2K. I'm guessing the vast majority of 2K players didnt care or touch the teams. That's fine, too. It didnt cost them a thing. The WNBA isnt any different.

I have learned though that when I see stuff like "shoved down our throats", "feminist" and "woke" the type I'm dealing with so I roll my eyes and ignore em. Not worth the time.
