I am kind of noticing this and also find its too hard on default to get to the paint. I am wondering if some of the sliders can help. I have lowered lateral quickness some and seems to help with the beating guys of the dribble some maybe to much. So that I think can be improved with sliders. The speed difference I am not sure about and I have been playing on all star not HOF or anything.

Re: Speed Difference
I have no issue with how fast Capela was moving. Bigs were too slow and now they seem fine. My issue is Conley should be faster with the ball when sprinting in the open floor. I could see if Young had slowed him down and Capela caught up but the issue is still Conley not Capela.Comment

Re: Speed Difference
This has been a issue for at least 3 years.
The issue isn't Conley, it's any player that is in transition. 2K has implemented unnecessary animations to greatly reduce fast breaks. This happens to the CPU also, players will have a fast break and stop running.
There is a crossover dribble that happens (since 2K17) to allow the CPU to catch up.
Acceleration can help somewhat.True bout my business, Mane!Comment

Re: Speed Difference
This is probably the issue.
The bigs seem a lot faster because the speed with ball rating is playing out like this. Makes me believe that this is a bug, and the quick guys are actually running super slow with the ball. This would explain dudes getting ran down on the break.
You can also look at the small difference between 62 and 99 perimeter defense. So my “guess” is that a 62 perimeter defense player is going to be step for step with a 93 speed with ball player.
I doubt they want to increase the speed with ball effect because then the game would be moving entirely to fast. The right move would be to space out the perimeter/lateral quickness ratings to make the 62 guys move a lot slower.
But of course this is a non developer guess.Last edited by alabamarob; 09-12-2021, 10:02 AM.Psn: Alabamarob

Re: Speed Difference
There’s an issue with Speed w/ Ball for sure. It’s like every player is being forced to not hit top speed when sprinting with the ball. Faster players can still explode off the dribble to get around a defender, but straight line dribble speed is either bugged or intentionally capped to allow defenders to catch up.
Just call a quick iso with any player and sprint around the perimeter, and you’ll notice they all hit a jogging speed and then stay at that speed instead of putting their head down and sprinting.Comment

Didn’t they add a stamina drain for that situation though with overusing turbo or spamming moves? If you were sprinting around perimeter (I get your testing) wouldn’t that happen?
I did hear czar say in a video the other day that if you hit turbo going around screens the defense will speed up to get through. So he suggested not using turbo until you want to attack off it. I’m wondering if the same happens in transition as well?Last edited by vannwolfhawk; 09-12-2021, 02:31 PM.Basketball Playbooks

Another defensive nerf or bug? Hmmmm … Lol

That would be my guess, which leads me to believe this is a bug and not a deliberate design decision.Comment

Re: Speed Difference
I'm not sure it's a bug. I traded Ben Simmons to the Trailblazers in MyNBA. I'm playing on rookie with the only change being maxed out foul sliders. I have been able to go coast to coast after grabbing a board 3 times in about 7games. Ben was a whole cheat code in 2K21 and I tried dang near every slider and movement set. I kind of feel like it's good where it's at, granted I havent played yet with a speed demon like Deaaron Fox.

Re: Speed Difference
I see that they made the Speed with Ball sliders 5 points lower this year, compared to Speed without ball, that is definitely not helping the issue. But I'm liking the gameplay so much that I'm gonna wait before I touch movement sliders.Comment

Re: Speed Difference
I must admit I am struggling playing on All Star.
The PNR is impossible to execute. The CPUs big defenders exhibit lightning speed in coming back to protect the basket.
Playing defence is fun and rewarding but the offence side of things is a frustrating experience at the moment.
I understand why they have tightened up the defence, but this is at the detriment of fun and realism.Comment
