Does Anyone Ever Change Any Rules In Their MyNBA Franchises

Just wondering if anyone ever does this or do you leave it the same as real life?

I actually made three rule changes in 2k21:

    1) Changed the shot clock from 24 to 38 seconds. I actually liked that because it allowed more time for plays to develop on the floor and minimized the player throwing up a wild shot with 1 second left on the clock.

    2) Changed ball advance from 8 to 10 seconds.

    3) Changed the bonus from 5 fouls to 3 and instituted the 1 and 1. Did this because there weren't hardly any fouls being called.

I plan on doing the same thing this year once I start my Franchise.

In regards to the shot clock change - how much did it affect your final scores ?

I eliminate the lottery, foul outs(since game doesn’t recognize foul trouble). I make the playoffs as if one big league(since I play 30 game schedule) instead of by conference.

I always change USA vs World game back to Rookies vs Sophomores. I like seeing the young players all playing in their respective team jerseys in the game.

I also change the allstar game back to East vs West. The captain thing was cool but in prefer the traditional way, so I change it.

Not much at all to be honest. I will say that, I did a lot of Spectator Mode, watching cpu v cpu games. So, I didn't have a large sample size of what the average scores would be for user v cpu. But, in cpu v cpu it allowed more time for plays to develop which led to better shots being taken. And the scores were never outrageous.

I play shorter quarters (6 min) so I always change the bonus from 5 to 3 and then 1 foul under two minutes. I also change the foul out to 5.

I’m planning on changing the 3 second paint rule to 5 seconds. Ideally I want there to be no rule for how long a defender can post in the paint. It’s unfortunate it’s tied to the offensive side as well. Ideally I want it like old school ball with no rule on the defense side and 3 seconds on the offense side.

As far as I’m concerned real defense can’t be played when the paint is kept artificially open. They changed the rule to make it easier for anyone to drive and score but in a game I want as much challenge as possible. Let my MJ be forced to go over two 7 footers planted in the paint like real life.

I don't change any rules, but I leave it open to rule changes in the off-season through the simulated vote.

Which I often hate the rule changes passed anyways lol. I do like playing basketball as close to as it is in the NBA today, including playing 12 minute quarters and 82 game seasons (tho I do simulate a number of games)
                  Current Franchise: NBA2K22 | Orlando Magic (1-2)
                  Last Game: W @ NY 93-66
                  C. Anthony: 16 pts.
                  M. Fultz: 15pts., 4 ast. pts.
                  J. Suggs: 14 pts.
                  R.J. Hampton: 14 pts.
                  M. Bamba: 13 pts., 14 reb.

I changed a lot of the recent rules

All star teams determined by votes instead of captions

USA vs world converted back to rookie vs sophomore

Shot clock resets back to full duration

Seconding this. Hopefully for next year's game.

                      Screw defensive three-seconds.

Imagine if a hockey goalie occasionally had to leave his net wide open. That's this rule.

Is any one seeing 3 in the key in the game any way? I have played like 25 games and not had one called either on me or cpu

i usually decrease maximum personal foul number to 5 as this is what it should be on 10 min quarters.

Considering the playcalling menu, extending the advance the ball rule to 10 seconds seems a really good idea.

I actually did the opposite and went 3 years. I never got far enough in the Franchise tho for it to matter because it was so late in the game. I'm considering allowing high schoolers in the draft this year.
