Tall ball > small ball
That worm badge is a real killer if you have a height or strength advantage

I always make at least one post scorer every year and this is one of the best years for them with all of these people making super short/skinny MyPlayersLast edited by jyoung; 10-11-2021, 01:09 PM.Comment

Re: I Love The Post Game This Year
I made a 6’ 7” 250 lb SF with 75 Strength, and it works like a charm. Now I see how Rodman was able to dominate big men on defense and crash the offensive glass. Height means nada if you have the proper skillset.Comment

Re: I Love The Post Game This Year
I think this is the most balanced my player builder that 2K's come up with so far.
Every height from 5'7" to 7'3" is viable but will come with its own set of strengths and weaknesses that can be taken advantage of.
The days of being able to leave multiple ratings at 25 and still get away with it are finally over. Every attribute category in the builder matters enough now that you can't just leave certain less popular ones blank unless you want to have a huge flaw in your playing ability.
And as someone who's always enjoyed playing with taller characters (to more easily make passes over the top of the defense), the buff to bigs' jumpshot speeds and nerf to the interior contest system (hands up D isn't good enough in the paint anymore) plus all of the new finishing badges they've added have finally made inside scoring and having good shot blocking timing relevant skills in the online modes for the first time since 2K19.
From what I've observed during my grind to online rep level 40, the people complaining about pick pocket/interceptor/chasedown artist being overpowered tend to have terrible playing habits or just aren't using the right build/badges/animations.
My passes rarely get picked off because I have 90 accuracy and equip bullet passer/needle threader/special delivery/dimer all at gold.
And I've played alongside plenty of PGs who don't get pick pocketed often because they aren't running headfirst into defenders like a basketball version of Mike Alstott and aren't spamming right stick moves whenever a lockdown's mitts are within reaching range.
But there have been plenty of games where my 99 block rating and hall of fame shot blocking badges have felt powerless because some slasher on the other team has HOF fast twitch/limitless takeoff/rise up/posterizer plus a smartly setup custom dunk package.
The only complaint I have about the online my player portion of the game is how easy it is to repeatedly zig zag back and forth (using only the left joystick) without losing any speed or very much stamina. But that style of play (and all types of screens) can still be defeated by a switch-all defense, which is what most NBA teams run nowadays, anyway.Last edited by jyoung; 10-12-2021, 09:07 PM.Comment

I'm telling you guys. I've been playing with this stuff. But this is a totally different game. If your patient you can read your defender and kill them
I've been hitting people with this one for the last week and half. They are so confused lol
I haven't had any and one like this. But still nice.
And this one is pure sexy!!....

Yup my only grip so far is the constant zig zag greenlight show.
Everyone is greening 3s left and right lol.
Just remove handle for days and make stamina count and it would solve a lot imo.

Re: I Love The Post Game This Year
The one move i wish they would bring back is the running hook shot out of the post. The last couple years it was limited to Ben Simmons layup package, but i want them to include it as a post move for everyone.Lineup:
PG) Gary Payton
SG) '95-'96 Michael Jordan
SF) Sapphire Scottie Pippen
PF) '95-'96 Dennis Rodman
C) Hakeem OlajuwonComment

Re: I Love The Post Game This Year
But I'll say this though. How many players actually have a running hook shot in real life? Standing hook yes. But a running. I feel you might find players do it once in a while. But definitely not as much a Kareem or Ben Simmons. So we really need everyone doing the running hook when they don't in real life?Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: I Love The Post Game This Year
That is the one thing that is missing. The only other person that has it Kareem obviously.

EDIT: I read your original message again and I may have misinterpreted your statement. If your point was that everyone shouldn't be attempting the move since we basically dont see it in real life anymore, then yes I 100% agree. That would look pretty stupid to see the AI trying to pull that off with players that never do it. But I do think it absolutely should be a move accessible to everyone, the same way regular hooks and fades are.Comment
