No excuses they even got Lakers Authentic Organ for crying out loud
Someday I want an ESPN 30 for 30 on NBA 2K's audio debacle. There has to be a reason why they've had to take such a long and winding road toward having adequate sound design.

As recently as 2K20 crowds would still randomly go dead quiet in the midst of 8-0 runs. And I'm not sure they've ever sounded as realistic as NBA Live 10's did in that clip above.

Also, RIP to that beautiful era when 2K allowed custom arena sounds.

You’re not going to find the cheese as quickly on regular rosters.

When you make a myplayer with 95 ball handling and several dribbling badges on HOF, and your dribble sigs are size up x, with cross over x, and hesitation x, you will see the cheese very quickly.
        ... But hey VC sale!!

Yup once you see the badges and the animations, you know its a wrap lol.

And if people cant cheese they will cry on twitter and get it patched in anyways.

Odds are game will be great out of the box and the be a **** show once the 1st or 2nd patch roll out.

Last few years game feels very nice on release for offline play. After a couple of patches 2K ruins the game for offline play generally and it starts to feel generic. We had this in 2K22 and 2K21 as far as i can remember. So i wouldn't be surprised if the game would be released in great shape but I personally would like to see consistency over the upcoming weeks after release to see if 2K can stop ruining offline gameplay with patches that benefits online play

              Good impressions from Shake though…
I remember when 2K22 launched and offline players were saying it’s the best 2K of all time, they proudly said “we will not be patching out or changing the defense. Enjoy.” It was after all their ENTIRE ad campaign (better defense). Then a week later they patched it out bit by bit lol.

My 2K22 still plays like launch though honestly. I had to realllllly tweak and strength sliders to get it there but mine plays pretty perfect. 20-30 free throws a game often too. Makes me think of not getting 2K23 since my 22 Is so satisfying, and I hate to Start this whole process of tweaking it all over again. But the Jordan upgrades, attention, and especially if he gets signature updates will make it hard to pass up.

All the previews/ comments including this one I’ve seen seem to distinctly mention an upgrade in face quality. You can point to it being that “new game” feel but it’s interesting that they mention that in particular…

Slow to those who didn't create the best open shot available and shot a contested shot instead. I was killing folks in NBA 2K11 with the shooting. My proudest moment was dropping 30+ points on 52% shooting with Danny Granger and that shot chart looked BEAUTIFUL.

Sad part...you would be considered a bum and "trash" by the community if you shot 52% in today's game.

This is interesting dialogue in this thread though. In a way, we have accepted or assumed that NBA 2K is going to be a good game on release, but it seems our negative "energy" is more towards the gamers who can't accept the new changes.

Like I stated before in a previous thread, my frustration has been more towards the community than the actual game. Yeah, I would like to see some changes here and there, but I've been mostly satisfied with the product. Disclaimer: My expectations for "realism" is lower than most meaning I don't care THAT much about accurate stats, accessories, signature moves, likeness, etc. I just want to play basketball and be able to recognize players on the fly while the game is close to real life as possible.

The thing is shot creation was better in 2k11, it felt more free

The hop steps, step backs, etc actually separated and created distance, and weren’t slowed down or sluggish, so even if the shot speed wasn’t super quick you could still get it off, and the contest system was different too.

In 2k22 there’s step back shots and spin jumpers where you end up in the same spot you started basically

It was 100% the contest system.

In 2K11 we still had to visibly cycle into new animations to do a moving shot, lol

Other than the fact they’ve removed the force field they used to create, the step backs weren’t any better, We have many more space creation options now

The issue now is that the block button instantly gets guys off their feet and straight to the ball. You see step backs blocked straight up, which you never see in real life

If we are moving back toward slower jump shots like 2K20, There has to be a contest system change or we’ll be back at guys running past you and getting quality close outs

I just hope they split gameplay into “Competitive” and “Simulation” so they can patch and tune the two separately. MyPlayer/Park modes would be on “Competitive” while other modes can choose between the two. Patches to Park modes would only tweak the “Competitive” mode and patches to offline gameplay would only affect the “Simulation” mode.

This way everyone can complain about the issues to their specific mode of gameplay without affecting those playing the other version. Win-win.

They say 2k11 is the best because of Jordan is only half the truth the other truth is Dynamic gameplay was real and the shooting separation was Dynamic and made sense

I use to light dudes up with Carmelo tripe threat shot Creation and the shooting motion was near perfect not too fast not too slow
Shot meter didn't exist then but wasn't necessary either

For me, this is the main issue as well. Unfortunately 2K caters to the money making modes of their game. If the player bases there complain, the patch is inevitable. I have been religiously saying this but if you want to keep that launch feel of the game, make sure to create an unpatched version of the game on an external.
