Dude!!! Thats exactly what I used to do and it was the most fun ive ever had in basketball games. It really felt realistic. You could create real separation with the dribbling, stepbacks (there was a designated button for it and I LOVED IT). And the contest system wasnt as atrocious as today.

Next gen is CPU peanut butter Defense too sticky on you like its winter cuddling season to pull off these moves

Re: Shakedown2012 first Impressions of 2k23 Video
I just hope they split gameplay into “Competitive” and “Simulation” so they can patch and tune the two separately. MyPlayer/Park modes would be on “Competitive” while other modes can choose between the two. Patches to Park modes would only tweak the “Competitive” mode and patches to offline gameplay would only affect the “Simulation” mode.
This way everyone can complain about the issues to their specific mode of gameplay without affecting those playing the other version. Win-win.Comment

I wonder why we haven't got a poll for that dunk meter haha i'm sure this community would vote that out as well. Bring back shot aiming already it was one of the best features in a long while. It got a bad wrap due to zens but those been around long before aiming.Comment

I don't think it is something they're ideologically opposed to. Only thing I can think of is that they either don't know how to do it OR their engine for whatever reason literally won't allow them to have two "instances" or versions of gameplay that can be tweaked separately from one another.Comment

Re: Shakedown2012 first Impressions of 2k23 Video
We re-factored the way sliders work this year and it didn't make sense to keep the game style and difficulty settings different. The thinking was, if you're playing Rookie, you're probably a casual gamer and if you're jumping up to HoF, you're probably looking for more of a sim experience. At least, that's how I wanted to design the difficulties.
If you guys can agree to a good slider set for Superstar and HoF, I'd be happy to adjust the defaults. I can change them in an update next week.
Just let me know exactly what you want in this thread.
Other factors in the game contribute to this issue of course, but I will always consider this a negative design decision by the dev team.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Re: Shakedown2012 first Impressions of 2k23 Video
This was a quote from Mike from when they got rid of the pre-set Arcade, Default, and Simulation settings for NBA 2K17. A lot of people were cool with it, I personally wasn't and IMO it hasn't been the same in terms of easily finding a good set of simulation sliders to play on.

Then on top of that, split the online PvP gameplay off from the online user vs. CPU gameplay so they can cater to the online gamers like they love to do without ruining the offline experience like they have the last few years.Comment

Re: Shakedown2012 first Impressions of 2k23 Video
These presets were a little different than what I'm referring to as they were really just a base to adjust your sliders from, and didn't actually give 2K the ability to make fundamental changes to the gameplay via patches that could specifically target JUST the online or JUST the offline version of gameplay. I agree they should revert the difficulty/slider system back to the old way so that changing sliders doesn't override the difficulty setting to "Custom" (we still don't really know how that even works and if "Custom" from a HOF base plays differently than "Custom" from a Rookie base, or any other difficulty in between). Just give us the difficulty settings with their innate gameplay changes, and allow us to tweak from there.

I think this why nba 2k on Next Gen CPU became so easy to beat a long with wacky Tendencies CPU crash dummies going to the hole most of the time while being Guarded good
I miss 2k16 when CPU would kill you offensively if your not focused Defensively and superstars like Harden and Durant
Would light you up🔥🔥🔥
Now Next Gen superstars have very low IQ
I hope they clean the AI this time in 2k23Comment

Re: Shakedown2012 first Impressions of 2k23 Video
Just an question from a longtime 2k gamer, like most of you... I think his overall message was a good one. I'm excited for the update.
However, I have to ask, have any of you seen the Youtube videos featuring 2k23 concept gameplay? I know these are done on PC with mods, but jeeez. I compared my 2k22 next gen PS5 to some of these videos and thought to myself that the PC mod videos are how "next gen" is supposed to look.
Sure, not everything was great, but the players looked taller and don't have the slight hunch when they stand up similar to NBA Live models. The arena lighting looks better, the arena sounds are more realistic, the courts look and crowds look better, and I couldn't get over how good the actual TNT, CBS, etc. overlays with the commentary were.
I don't have a good PC to play the game on PC which is why I have a Ps5, but it makes me wish I did just so I could hook my game up with mods and a good slider/roster set.
Lastly, yes, I'm aware there is a forum for the PC version. I just was so impressed, I wanted to see anyone else had similar thoughts...
Thanks!Comment

I agree. I miss having battles with the CPU and knowing I have to really be on my toes against a player like Kyrie, KD etc. The CPU hasn’t been that lethal for me since 2K19. They was tough. I think part of the reason they suck so bad is 2K allowing you to see the CPU shot timing. I’ll rather it go back to the way it was even if the cpu was cheating somewhat lol.
