The perfect game would be if we can start a “modern” MyNBA mode and can select court + presentation each game like we do jerseys. For me that would be the ULTIMATE GAME CHANGER since I like building all time rosters and having the greats of every era play together.

I love to see everyone excitment about MyNBA Era.
You guys are going crazy with all these What If Scenarios
When i learn about it my head almost exploded
As a roster editor, i think im gonna 1st of all add the missing players of those 1991-92, 1983-84 and 2002-03 seasons. Oh, this is gonna be fun, i wish i could start editing right now lolComment

Re: Rewrite NBA History in NBA 2K23 with All-New MyNBA Features
I was wondering about this too lmao....Kobe never had an "era." I'm sure they only singled him out because of his death...
The one thing that really is odd is the choice of starting year for the 90s and 00s. Why 91-92 when that’s a year after the Bulls won their 1st trophy? And Kobe’s I’d argue should start in 99-00 or 00-01 at the latest. 98-99 would’ve funny too, Scottie in Houston & Rodman in LA
But if they do, I really hope 2K adjusts his player model to look bigger and have facial hair. I've always wanted them to add the Dream Team MJ with the goatee but that's highly doubtful.Comment

Re: Rewrite NBA History in NBA 2K23 with All-New MyNBA Eras
My first thought was The Show man. I would DIE for a “Yankees Dynasty” era in the late 90’s as a starting point w/ the core four. Oh man. I’m salivating over the thoughtMLB New York Yankees
NFL New York Giants
NBA Brooklyn Nets
NHL New Jersey Devils
EPL Manchester United
NCAA FB Pittsburgh Panthers
NCAA BB Pittsburgh PanthersComment

Re: Rewrite NBA History in NBA 2K23 with All-New MyNBA Eras
This I think will be the issue unless someone recreates each year with 23 or 30 team control, they then go year by year creating draft classes, drafting players, creating players, fixing rosters, etc. Then hopefully we can save and share those scenarios for certain years with 2k share scenarios. But we would need every draft class created. I think this will be great half way through or towards the end of the cycle and for years to come once creators can create all the drafts, CAPS, & each teams real rosters and players. Which is all good. It sounds like the 3 starting points will be most accurate to play with then like you said it will end up a mess in 3-4 years or even in year 2 if having the real life rosters are what you are looking for down the road.
It would have been cool if they could have done that year by year to get it all accurate to each year, but obviously that’s a huge undertaking and probably not even realistic to have each team draft the same players and have the same rosters as they go year to year like they did with the rules changes, relocations, and uniform changes, etc…
But again, if we can share these my nba file scenarios by years then by the end of the cycle this could be a game we always come back to for classic fixes once edited. Unless and I hope they add year to year carry over saves and this mode can grow in years to come. I’m not complaining and it’s awesome addition and no way expect to have all that in this year. It’s an awesome idea and mode! But I don’t think it is what most here will want in say 1987, 1995, or 2005, etc… At least not til creators get to it.
On another note, they HAD to have updated the draft classes with more players. There's no way they roll out a mode like this with the same 25% (or less) complete draft classes they've had the last few years...right? Although it was kinda scary that Stax mentioned drafting Ewing in 85 if you don't get MJ in 84.....that makes me feel like Olajuwon is still not in the 84 draft class.Comment

Re: Rewrite NBA History in NBA 2K23 with All-New MyNBA Eras
I'm wondering if we actually gonna play as guys like
Clarence Weatherspoon
Latrell Sprewell
Mike Gminski
Jeff Ruland
Harold Miner
Wayman Tisdale
Alvin Robertson
Dale Davis
Bob Sura
Bobby Phills
Loy Vaught
Voshon Lenard
Theo Ratliff
Armen Gilliam
Orlando Woolridge
Lonnie Shelton
Phil Hubbard
Ricky Davis
and so on. I doubt they finally added Sir Charles and Reggie.
Boy I'm gonna play my own music for the eras via USB
83/84 Michael Jackson, Whodini, Run DMC etc.
90/91 Technotronic, Ice Cube, Snap etc.
02/03 Nelly, Eminem, Jay-Z etc.
I'm sure there will be generics, but they better have my man on the roster...Bernard King with good knees paired with Ewing??? I'm more excited to play with the Knicks than I am the Bulls and I am a Bulls fan lol.Attached Files"Dunks are tough, but when a 35 footer come rainin out the sky...it'll wire you up"Comment

https://www.polygon.com/23310207/nba...tarting-points
Some other interesting tidbits/elaborations:
Crew went through extra lengths to eliminate non-era-specific oddities in arenas.
Boenisch noted that the arenas themselves have era-specific looks. “I’m sure you saw from the screenshots, and the Jordan Challenge trailer, it really grounds the environment,” Boenisch said. “There’s nothing weird; [the viewer isn’t] seeing, you know, AT&T 5G in 1983. It doesn’t make sense; it’s dumb. We made sure none of that happens.”
The all-star jerseys were clarified.
Serious basketball fans are likely wondering if this or that historically accurate detail, like switching from two referees to three in 1988-1989, or non-expansion divisional realignments, will show up in the game. There was also a six-year stretch (1997 to 2002) where players wore their individual uniforms in the NBA All-Star Game, instead of a single uniform. Boenisch says the answer to all of those is yes.
Drafted players will theoretically develop as they did at the time, with hints that the team went deep in attempting to adjust the ratings and badges of all those involved.
But he and Visual Concepts also anticipated a lot of skepticism from the core, franchise-playing base of the NBA 2K series. Team finances will change according to the era, including changes to the rookie contract scale. As to that, introducing historical draft classes and famous players in their rookie years means adding players that have to develop the way they did at the time. Disrupting a draft by taking a player out of historical order means the rest of the draft should still play out realistically.
“Creating a roster for every single year, re-rating guys, doing the badges; creating draft classes, doing the badges on those guys, testing their potential, making sure they develop correctly — it’s a significant amount of work,” Boenisch said. “Sitting there, tweaking and tuning those, and simulating and adjusting, and simulating again. It’s an incredible amount of work.”Last edited by VDusen04; 08-19-2022, 07:35 AM.Comment

For some reason I really feel like the Wizards won't have MJ on that "Kobe era" roster...

Re: Rewrite NBA History in NBA 2K23 with All-New MyNBA Eras
Why wouldn’t MJ be on the Wizards?
Sorry but have to comment on the unrealistic, silly and outrageous expectations people have. Players should show age?! Rosters should be accurate for each season automatically? All teams available outside of this mode?! All socks, shoes and accessories correct? Hairstyles for 1000s of players should change as they did in real life too?! Come on now…Comment
