    In the last week nobody…

Played against the 90s Jazz for the first time. Karl Malone was a nightmare to defend. It felt like every time he finally missed, he grabbed the board and still punished me.

Finished the game with 38 points and 15 boards, but it felt like it was double the amount.

Everytime he sit I came close, but then he came back and cooked me again.

That's how every fanbase at the time had to feel watching him putting together those games with Stockton. Well, besides the Bulls maybe.

MyEra is the best mode in sports game history and game like that show it. Like watching one of those old highlight clips on Youtube.

One of my favorite things about the MyEra mode is using it as a bridging to deepen my understanding of NBA history.

After Joe Barry Carroll lit me up, I wanted to take a deeper look into his game since all I ever heard and knew about him was that he was the No. 1 pick sent to Golden State in exchange for Kevin McHale and Robert Parish and that he was known as "Joe Barely Cares". I figured he was a lackadaisical draft bust who meandered through a 10 year career as a slightly richer man's Kwame Brown or something.

What I didn't know is that he was a consistent 20+point, 8+rebound, 2+block guy for a significant portion of the 80's, and that his "Joe Barely Cares" thing wasn't so much about his game itself, but a product of the vitriolic response to his decision to spend a year in Italy when Golden State broke their entire bank to match the deal he'd signed with Milwaukee in the '84 offseason.

Looking back, if Golden State had let him walk, which would have likely been the sensible thing to do, Joe Barry Carroll in Milwaukee would have completely altered the decade, because the Bucks were already loaded.

That is a good point. There isn't a game where I don't stop in between to google some of the players involved in the game. I thought I was fairly knowledgable of that time but I already learned so much.

The 83 Blazers just cooked me… defensively! My 83 Lakers couldn’t do anything in a 98-80 loss shooting just 37% and couldn’t get into the paint at all.

Karl’s game wasn’t flashy and he was so fundamentally sound and consistent (and he’s kinda a pos off the court) that he doesn’t get the credit he served as one of the greatest, GREATEST to ever do it. You HATED when your favorite team and players played Stockton and Malone. Two guys so fundamentally precise to perfection and with such little wiggle room for going off script and doing something wild that can screw up their chances of winning, that it dove you crazy. Also made them more boring than wildcard players like Payton and kemp.

If Jordan didn’t exist, Stockton and malone would have won several rings and be considered the best 1-2 in league history. Hands down. Boring, without flash, maybe. But top 2. Already they’re the only two players with accumulated stat accolades such as Stockton being #1 all time assists AND steals, and malone #3 (#2 for years and #1 for PF’s) scoring. That’s staggering for two players on one team.

People gotta go back and see the hellscape of competition and challenge they had to endure in the 98 playoffs. They SWEPT a 98 lakers with a prime age Shaq, FOUR allstars on one team, and young Kobe. In the same playoff run, they beat the spurs with Robinson and Duncan who was a superstar out of the box, 4-1! That’s insane! Then they had to face the greatest player and team of all time in the finals. Arguably the hardest and most impressive playoff run in history if you ask me, even though they ultimately didn’t win the chip.

The latest two players to chef it up on me have been Peja and T-Mac.

Jason Kidd while serving me occasional buckets, did seem to find KMart every single time with a lob over the top last time I played the Nets.

Not even just superstars but every team has a truly distinct style, it’s very cool.

First game of the season. Magic vs sixers. Iverson finished with 62 points. Tmac (me) with 52pt 7reb 14ast. Double overtime. Such a thing of beauty.

Iverson also has this signature jump shot while holding the turbo button during jump shot. Any other players with unique gathers?

He made all my guards on the Knicks look like 3rd graders. He hit this unbelievable 360 layup. If I didn't have Ewing

Currently playing the Nets in the semifinals in my Kobe Era Wizards run and Kidd has been a problem. Series is tied 2-2 but Kidd is averaging around 28 for the series. Seems like in order to make him as good in game as he was in real life they boosted his speed and overall ability to beat guys off the dribble. I'm having a hard time staying in front of him, harder time than I had with guys like Iverson, Kobe, and T-Mac.

And he's a damn pick pocket as well. Keeps taking my cookie. He's holding Francis to less than 15 ppg. In two games Francis scored in the single digits.

Mahmoud Abdul rauf. This guy is cooking me in the finals. Hands in his face, bigger defender, doesn't matter. He's averaging 40 a game. Mj is easier to guard lol
