I had a game last night where the computer had 0 with 6 minutes left in the first using 2K Rosters and Mike Lowe's sliders. I restarted the game and the computer was still only shooting only 25%. Also because of all the CPU misses Embiid had 23 rebounds for the game. I bumped all of the shooting success sliders up by 2 for the computer and got a little bit better results in the 2nd half.

I’ve been wondering if it related to the heavily edited ATD roster I use, but if u have issues with default it’s something on 2K……. Very unfortunate because at one time this game was playing unbelievable, now I don’t even wanna play cause the CPU is so bad at times

I’m probably not seeing the brain dead AI because I play with the awareness sliders at 100. My only problem was shot making.

Shot Success - 62 ATD, 60 Default
Shot Coverage Impact - 35
Layup Defense Strength - 65
Jumpshot Defense Strength - 35
Acceleration - 35 (stops superhuman close outs which leads to more open jumpers)

Have done my usual one offs and a few actual NBA Today matchups the last couple of days…default sliders.

CPU has played pretty well for me personally. CPU shot making was definitely the most noticeable issue for a few of the current teams….but the way they got those shots was as dynamic as I’ve experienced since the game dropped. Especially those teams with updated playbooks.

I had a game last night against boston and they clamped me hard and shot really well. I wanted to test so i quit after the third quarter. Same thing. Cpu was a beast. Wanted to try one more time so i quit after 3rd again. Same thing. Clamped and cpu was great offensively.

I finished that game and lost by 14.

Played the next game right after against philly. They were awful. Cpu shot 31% and i won by 40. I promise i didnt play any different. Next game, same blowout. Same next game.

To me it feels like they force momentum and streaks and i just dont think the AI is anywhere near capable of doing it in a natural way that is really needed for it to not feel corny.

Its tough because basketball really is about runs and streakiness so i appreciate the attempt at realism but the runs can feel pretty forced game to game hence why you see the "i shoot like crap every 3rd quarter" threads seemingly every year. I do think the runs in individual games are tolerable but im just not sure it works as a streakiness system for multiple games in a season. Pounding the cpu into oblivion just isnt fun and when you see glimpses of how they can play like my boston game, it makes it more miserable.

Had one of my best games ever last night. Superleague bulls vs kings. Felt very realistic other than some new block cheese etc. Also some cpu players continued to shoot 8/22 but the game itself was good.

Problem is it started off broken which isn’t confidence inspiring. I was destroying them 25-8 then I let off the gas a bit and started taking risky shots to let cpu find momentum and crawl back. Once they did, it turned to a great game. But I had to let them evade their cold streak. It’s all about streaks now. I honestly think it comes down to the first possession. If cpu takes and bricks a bad shot to start the game then you can usually bet they’re gonna suck. Or the opposite if they start sharp and make shots.

The good thing is even when they were getting cooked they didn’t FEEL as dumb. They felt more alive. I’m fine with blowing teams out as long as it feels realistic. Like it did before patch. But not sure I can trust it yet.

I have cpu shooting sliders at 58, offensive awareness/consistency at 65, defensive consistency/awareness/lateral/on ball at 98, shot timing impact at 0, jump shot defensive strength at 10 and I’m on HoF. Also body sensitivity at 80. So I have cpu super beefed up. With those sliders pre patch I woulda got decimated.

I finished the nice game I had going. I resumed the second half where I was winning 47-40 at the half. I ended up winning 102-69. I feel like CPU is passing better and is more aggressive but they just don’t hit enough shots. If they are totally wide open they will hit shots but any kind of coverage and it’s brick city.

I finished the nice game I had going. I resumed the second half where I was winning 47-40 at the half. I ended up winning 102-69. I feel like CPU is passing better and is more aggressive but they just don’t hit enough shots. If they are totally wide open they will hit shots but any kind of coverage and it’s brick city.

Try putting the consistency to 90 for the CPU to hit more shots

I just upped cpu awareness and consistency to 75. At 65 they were still getting way too cold and easy to blowout. Keeping their shooting sliders at 58 for now.

It’s a balancing act trying to find the right shooting and consistency sliders. CPU is so inherently dumb now that bumping awareness/consistency are musts to keep them sharp. I’m gonna focus on that and see if I don’t need to bump their shooting sliders higher than 58.

I like the way I've got the game playing for me. The only thing I did was change sliders that change from Superstar to HOF. Which are raising the CPU shooting sliders and lowering User contest shots. I got CPU shooting sliders at 68 and User contest at 20. CPU stars are killing me and I have to really play good D to stop them. CPU is now hitting open shots against me where as before brick city even if open. My 83 Lakers just lost to the 83 Rockets 115-99 where they shot 54%. Now I'm in a dogfight against the 83 Nuggets. After three quarters I'm winning 80-75 where we are both shooting 49%. Now it's not perfect. Still not enough turnovers (especially non steal ones) and fouls but that's always been a problem in basketball video games. I am happy now. I should note I use real% not meter.

Played my first few games since before xmas and the difference is enormous. Got absolutely torched twice (Lavine dropped 56 including 10/12 from deep) and then had a couple of great battles with the Kings in which I had to really pull out good offense late to win.

CPU offensive rebounding has gone full cheese though, to the point where it feels like the ball is magnetised to them (even guards).

I am really happy after my last game so I shut my internet off so I get no updates.

So since playing some really challenging games yesterday where the CPU torched me for periods, the Knicks just shot 7-43 in the first half against me for 21 points, while the Heat just went 1-13 and I'm up 22-4 after one. A line-up of Adebayo/Butler/Oladipo/Herro/Westbrook went scoreless over seven minutes.

Ten minute quarters with Schnaidt sliders (so superstar as a base), but with shot timing reduced to 0 and 3pt reduced to 62 for both me and the CPU.

EDIT - up 50-14 at the half. Miami shooting 5/30 from the field, 0/10 from three and 4/11 from the line. This is with shot timing turned to 0 and sliders with a superstar base.
