I think it’s more realistic to think about new features rather than fixes to old ones. Using new NIL agreements to enrich the pre-draft aspect of MyNBA would be great, as would integrating the Olympics every four years.Comment

This is the unfortunate reality, when you're hyping up a new game the thinking is you want to tout new features to drive sales. NBA2k is far from the only game where new features are added beyond the ability of the AI or quality assurance to keep up and the experience is never as good as it could be. After not paying more than $30 for a 2k in many years I'd pay $120 for a 2k24 where their entire pitch is "we fixed all the broken stuff, tuned the systems well, and made the AI good", but I guess I'm in the minority.Comment

Re: I am a MyEra/MyLeague diehard. Here are three things I would like to see in 2k24
Random update. I passed the scoring record with Lebron and there was zero mention of the record from the broadcasters nor anything graphic to acknowledge it.
As a longtime fan of doing Franchises and MyLeagues, I feel the current, next-gen version is pretty loaded. Same things I would like to see added and/or improved.
- I'd like to see more animations for big milestone moments. I play as the Lakers and in this season I've been passing a lot of milestone moments with Lebron. I haven't gotten to the scoring record yet but I've moved into either the top 10 or top 5 in some categories as he's done in real life this season. It'd be cool to get some type of graphic pop-up or have the announcers acknowledge the milestone. A lot of times I pass these milestones and have no clue until I check the NBA Records section and see that he's moved up. In MLB The Show, for example, if a player is approaching 300 career homeruns, the announcers will mention that he's getting closer with each homerun. They'll say something like that's career homerun number 298 or 299. Then when they do reach a milestone a graphic will pop up saying "career homerun number 300" and there's sometimes an animation of the player coming back to the dugout and his teammates clapping for him.
- I'd like to have more control over G-League rosters, even if it's just the team that is associated with your NBA team. Before I start my MyLeague, I'll manually move players from the Free Agent pool and move them over to the G-League team that they really play for. After I start the MyLeague, I noticed that if I sign a player that plays for the G-League to a two-way deal or 10-day contract and I release them, they go back to the Free Agent pool and can't be placed back on a G-League team. I know it's something very minor but I'm a realistic freak when it comes to MyLeague and I love keeping things as accurate as possible with rosters.Comment

Just got 2k23 and wondering if there is a way to add a created draft class when creating an online league? I'm using the modern era and was able to use a created roster when setting it up, but haven't found a way to import a draft class. Thanks for any and all answers!Pistons & Sixers

Re: I am a MyEra/MyLeague diehard. Here are three things I would like to see in 2k24
My list in no particular order
1. Polish. Particularly with the commentary, I get tired of hearing them talk about my 20 year old Dwight as if he is 34 years old
2. Improved presentation across all eras. The awkward silences before tipoff in Kobe era are especially annoying.
3. Dynamic player models
4. (most important) A revamp/redesign of all things coaching.
4a. For starters I want real life coaches entering the ranks around the same time as they historically did
4b. Improve coach tendencies, especially those that would influence the change in pace that occurred across eras. I don't know how to mimic the increase in pace in my save that we've seen over the last 15 years
4c. Probably separate but improve AI so that ai coaches utilize different strategies (fix current coach settings, and give the AI an ability to put best on best)
5. Draft history. Either put it under league history or on the scouting menu, but give us the ability to look back at the full draft history for our league.Comment

Re: I am a MyEra/MyLeague diehard. Here are three things I would like to see in 2k24
1. Ported draft classes from 2k23 to 2k24. Please port all draft classes for Xbox Series X and PS5.
That would save me and other draft class creators so much time and it makes a lot of sense.
2. Improved CPU MyEra/MyLeague GM logic. I would like to see these teams think like real GMs. Not trading future unprotected first for Amal McCaskilla which ends up being Kevin Durant. Let's really dig into improving the logic of the CPU to where it's like real life.
3. Some added presentation. I feel like it's been minor upgrades over the last five years. I do like the 80s, 90s, and 2000s TV style but i would like more presentation like maybe a TNT styled weekly show that covers the games of the week, top draft prospects, teams that are trending up or down and jokes on the teams trending down from Shaq or Kenny. I would also like to see more presentation for the NBA Draft. It's pretty bare bones.
I am surprised how at this stage (Feb), this mode isn't buggy, keep that up. That's unusual for 2k as I usual drop this game because of bugs by this time of the year. That's been a big win.
Others may have more in mind but I feel like just these additions would add hours of game play. I still feel like CPU MyLeague AI is still the biggest flaw of 2k franchise mode and it always has been. If this can change and it becomes hard not to dominate this game mode, that would be nice.Comment

Port roster saves across from one year to the next. As a creator, that's all I ask. Everything else is secondary.
Months of roster work, every single year, all goes to waste the second a new game arrives. The entire, back breaking process starts again.-----------------------------------------

Re: I am a MyEra/MyLeague diehard. Here are three things I would like to see in 2k24
The scouting and drafting system for auto-generated classes is so bad. I’m tired of 5’9 23 year old point guards and small forwards with no 3, no “D” and no athleticism. Everyone comes tatted up like Chris Andersen or doesn’t even look remotely human facial wise. The “name pool” needs an update too. How many Barry Carrolls and Morris Sr.’s can there be?
Their tendencies don’t match their attributes either, point guard posting up like they’re Shaq and 25 3pt centers shooting like Steph. Their peak starts and stops are too short, they stop progressing at 23 and start regressing at 28. They don’t develop well either, after 15-20 years there’s usually only a couple of players with overalls in the 90’s.Comment

This is a big one for me. After a few years in a league, seeing all the terrible random stock generated players completely deflates my desire to continue playing that mode for long. It's that bad IMO. I know we can use custom classes but that shouldn't be an excuse to not improve it.Comment

- Too many players who are abnormally large (every draft class seems to have multiple 7'1/270+ guys), plus too many undersized guards
- Wingspans and physical measurements never properly correlating to athleticism and defensive ability
- Tendencies that are seemingly random or attributes that don't make sense (ie - shooting guards that can't shoot threes, players who can shoot but also can't shoot free throws, point guards that can't dribble etc)
- Assigning really old gear and animations (you shouldn't get a modern prospect come through wearing 1970s Chucks, or someone with Dick Barnett's jumper, Don Nelson's FT routine etc). Also every second prospect wearing knee high socks!
- The tattoos. Oh lord, the tattoos. It feels like every white guy is Chris Andersen
- The algorithm for facial features is often messed up - so you get dark-skinned players with Caucasian features and vice versa. They also seem to assign Caucasian hair types to dark-skinned players a lot
- Hairstyles. There are some really cool styles in the game now, but draft classes still seem to use the same 5-6, most of which look ridiculous. I don't think I've ever seen a prospect come through with braids or cornrows, for example, but five years into a save and the league is full of players with a haircut like a middle manager in finance
- Nationalities. For some reason in current gen they've mixed up all the names and nationalities, so you'll get Dale Jones from Lithuania, Tom Smith from Brazil, Jens Matthaus from Puerto Rico etc. Then you'll get a collection of African American college players with foreign names, even though they're not eligible for the world team. It's just so half-baked
- Not properly representing the most common international nations that produce good prospects. I have no issue with there being a Mexican, Brazilian, Nigerian or Rican lottery prospect once in a while, but they pop up every year, and usually more often than French, Argentinian, Italian etc players
College and international stats are also messed up (you'll get a draft class full of bigs averaging 12+ rebounds, scorers averaging 28+ ppg, point guards averaging 10+ assists in college or international play, which just doesn't happen), however I've noticed after the first year in current gen the stats don't even generate for draft prospects anymore.
They've thrown a couple of tweaks in recently (tattoos, sons of former players) but they're just gimmicks rather than anything of substance.
(I get they're likely not going to put much effort into this sort of stuff now as there are so many draft class creators and it doesn't make them money, but for an immersion-head like me, the generated draft classes are just terrible and require so much manual editing to keep the game world immersive.)Last edited by sirdez; 07-10-2023, 12:22 AM.Comment

Re: I am a MyEra/MyLeague diehard. Here are three things I would like to see in 2k24
The addition I would like to see concerns the arenas in both modes. For MyLeague I often like to edit the courts by down loading a retro user created floor, however, in doing so this forces me to change the arena. Hate when this happens and my arena appears to look like Madison Square Garden. Would like the ability to keep my arena.
For MyEras including more authentic retro arenas.Comment

I would like to shoot and score with Reggie Miller or at least go coast to coast with Sir Charles Barkley but both those are wishful thinkingComment

They haven't changed the algorithms for their generated draft classes for years now. I use the generated classes as I want a unique experience and also don't want to know which players have high/low potential etc, but they badly need some TLC.
