Re: I am a MyEra/MyLeague diehard. Here are three things I would like to see in 2k24

I agree with all the things being said in this thread but I’m surprised nobody has mentioned how bare bones stat keeping is in this game and some other things I’m gonna talk about.

The team record tab where you can look at franchise statistical leaders doesn’t even update. Also, When someone breaks a record it shows the full date and just makes it look so cluttered.

How about the fact that we can’t even retire jerseys? Guys like Haslem not having their jersey retired makes no sense. You have to win everything while on the team or you have to play 15+ seasons and consistently average 20. And even if they are retired they won’t even be with the other jerseys. I do give 2k credit for having certain crowd npc wear old jerseys.

How about letting us keep the created logo we made on the crowd jerseys!? Oh and while we’re on the topic of crowds, what is with the smokey vibe after editing an arena?

I am a realistic stat keeping/history nerd. Why can’t we view all of the rewards in the awards tab? And what happened to keeping track of Finals MVP, stat leader? The entire player viewing card needs a revamp. Take a page out of maddens book when it comes to presenting the player and their attributes, stats and awards tabs.

LET US SEE OLD PLAYOFF TREES AND DRAFT CLASSES!!!!!!!

how about a moments pop up thing, for example: while simming in mlb the show, there are moments that pop up that asks the gamer if they want to partake in trying to lead a comeback or hold a lead or something. This would be a great addition for people like me who enjoying building their league and watching how it unfolds.

they need to do something with the team rivalries, it’s just a gimmick and means nothing. Commentary doesn’t change, crowd isn’t intense.

With social media and podcasts playing a huge role in the nba today, there should be more presentations in terms of that.

ALL STAR WEEKEND IS ABSOLUTELY HORRID. the 3 point contest is unplayable. The dunk contest is cool in terms of controls and dunks. But the presentation and scoring system is so bad I guarantee nobody even knows what I’m talking about.

CPU staff hiring and just MyStaff in general is terrible. Never have any money to sign a good coach. And the coaching logic is so unrealistic and the fact that it affects sim, makes the player have to edit every single coach.

The crowd, we need more life we need more sounds, more chants.

All in all I expect nothing from 2k, I just play it for basketball.

I've been screen-shotting my playoffs each season. Would be nice to have that built in.

That would save me and other draft class creators so much time and it makes a lot of sense.

        2. Improved CPU MyEra/MyLeague GM logic. I would like to see these teams think like real GMs. Not trading future unprotected first for Amal McCaskilla which ends up being Kevin Durant. Let's really dig into improving the logic of the CPU to where it's like real life.

        3. Some added presentation. I feel like it's been minor upgrades over the last five years. I do like the 80s, 90s, and 2000s TV style but i would like more presentation like maybe a TNT styled weekly show that covers the games of the week, top draft prospects, teams that are trending up or down and jokes on the teams trending down from Shaq or Kenny. I would also like to see more presentation for the NBA Draft. It's pretty bare bones.

I am surprised how at this stage (Feb), this mode isn't buggy, keep that up. That's unusual for 2k as I usual drop this game because of bugs by this time of the year. That's been a big win.

Others may have more in mind but I feel like just these additions would add hours of game play. I still feel like CPU MyLeague AI is still the biggest flaw of 2k franchise mode and it always has been. If this can change and it becomes hard not to dominate this game mode, that would be nice.
#3 has been asked for so many times in so many sports games I'm not sure it will ever happen.

The staff overhaul that was the big feature in 2k22 is a big disappointment. I'm not sure what the assistant coaches are supposed to do exactly. Do they help players gain attributes faster or do they give them boosts during games? Staff members don't gain or improve badges or attributes. The budget to sign staff is really low, you can't even sign the required positions without giving out the minimum wage.

I usually simulate the regular season before simcasting and jumping into playoff games, so the moments system that was suggested earlier would be really good for making me care more about seeing some regular season action. I'd like to help player score a career high or come back from a big deficit in a game I probably wouldn't have paid much attention to.

I would also like to see something similar to the "breakout player" system in Madden. The ability for a well-performing young player to gain some increases to their potential by accumulating a certain number of stats in a game would be cool. Have a total of a certain number of combined PTS/AST/REB/BLK/STL in a specified game to increase their max potential would be a welcome addition. You could turn players such as O.J Mayo or Jonathan Bender into the players people thought they could be. The untapped potential camp from the previous games is my most missed feature and I would love to have players increase potential without going in and editing them.

The ability to override/approve jersey retirements would be a welcome addition. Sorry Melo, I don't want to see Jokic wear some random jersey number after you retire. Seeing guys on my team spend 15+ years there, win a bunch of rings and not get their jersey retired brings a tear to my eye occasionally.

I would also like to see some smaller but still important bugs addressed as well. You can't offer extensions to players with expiring rookie contracts. CPU teams don't offer extensions to their players anymore which leads to players leaving for a different team in free agency every 3-4 years. Restricted free agents always accept the qualifying offer after getting a big contract offer (unless you go to the off-season menu and simulate past moratorium) Teams never sign their 2nd round picks that they've drafted.

I’d like to see some type of pop up or recap of weekly events, big games, records broken, hot streaks, etc.

I know we have the ticker at the bottom, but I think something simple to throw it in your face would help with immersion.
