Curious where else they might apply it - little things like bringing the ball up, different run styles, heck maybe they'll even eventually go as far as giving Dennis Rodman signature rebound styles haha..... could have some pretty good potential..
Im not sure I understood the tech as being able to take grainy footage from 1995 and do that. I could be wrong though.

Be nice if errant passes were included for some non steal turnovers.

I think that signature shooting/dribbling etc. is not enough anymore. Everything else is what can make it an ultra realistic game - it's the running, walking, falling, mannerism etc..especially if each player will move differently, like in real life. That's the next step in animating a realistic basketball game.

I guess this is the step for more realistic animations.

I'm a be honest, this just sounds like marketing buzzword mumbo jumbo. I would love if it were true and actually turns out how some are hoping. I'm not going to get my hopes up in the slightest.

I loved the my eras addition last year but getting a kobe 2k built around his legacy instead of jordan is all I can ask for. That is worth a purchase in itself but I know they'll add some things here and there. Not really with the belief the game gets overhauled but hope yall get what yall want

New Tech is not for PC. That's the reason for all these new word play to entice more users to consoles.

I get PTSD with the term "New Technology" to this day, thanks to NBA Elite 11.

It’s just a back of the box paragraph for now.

Not sure how we can scream revolutionary or “marketing tactic” either way

but I understand what time of year is.

                      This could be huge.

I ain’t gonna lie I always wished they could animate players from past footage. This could be an amazing accomplishment if done right.

I hope the new "tech" helps with layup animations. We've never had fluid layup animations in basketball games. And when i say fluid I mean like this...

I’m just glad layups were back as a valid finishing technique in 2K23

I liked layups for the most part this year. Especially the quick scoop layups. I wished we had the option for shot aiming on layups vs timing. It made driving a lot more intuitive to me.

Since real nba footage is like a dance of offence and defence, I suspect that this new technology will produce a variety of life-like interactions between players and general movement improvement.

And obviously they're not talking about the signature moves but all the other animations that are common for all players and make the players move robotic.

Another possibility is that all those team specific plays will be recreated to make a big part of the gameplay more realistic at least on the eye because when you control the ball the cpu moves all the other players and those movements will be canned from real nba footage. But when you control the player you won't be able to animate like that.

Either way it will surely improve the core gameplay of the nba game and not the park This mode will not change it's gameplay for obvious reasons.

Re: NBA 2k24 New Technology feature

I'm surprised by the amount of people dismissing this technology.

We already saw what it can do with the jump shots in 2k23. Some came out better than others, but I would say nearly all of the new jumpers were captured using this technology that they look to be expanding on into 2k24. I don't think it's any coincidence that our one confirmed mo-capped set of animations by Devin Booker were probably the worst of the bunch as far as feeling like they were done at game speed.

You can even compare the new pull-ups and step backs they added to Book's and you see and feel the difference there as well. They just need to add more to some packages to get rid of the generics that are tied to some of them.

I see people talking about running and walking styles and we got some of those in 2k23 as well. Much like the pull-ups and stepbacks though, they need to flesh these out. Some just have a walk, some just have a jog and for a bulk of them, the sprint animation looks and feels the same.

2k23 was a great step, really excited to see how far they go with this in 2k24.
