Re: According to this leak, PC getting old gen version of 2K24
Madden 24 for the PC version is going to be cross gen and it's going to be NEXT GEN as well(which I'm looking forward to). 2k is just a lazy company that doesn't want to deal with the PC cheaters online.Last edited by Goffs; 07-08-2023, 05:41 AM.Comment

They probably still feel there isn't enough top gaming rigs out there to justify upgrading the game to current gen. If you look at the average PC config on steam it's not running it. It was probably a close call and if that's the reason next year might be an almost guaranted upgrade imo.
It's really sad, it's the one 2K I really had to get tbh.Last edited by Vni; 07-08-2023, 06:32 AM.Comment

with Madden 24 . every article that Ive read said, that the PC version will have next gen features, they never mention graphics. Im very weary about the wording.

I have had EVERY PC version of NBA2k going all the way back to 2k9. I don't know where you're getting that info about it being discontinued.
I doubt they are phasing out the PC version. I think the next gen version will come. Took forever for FIFA to finally get next gen.Last edited by Goffs; 07-08-2023, 07:34 AM.Comment

Last gen consoles will be phased out eventually but NBA2k version will be the Switch version since the switch shelf life is still strong. lolComment

meh, I built my computer well before PS5 even came out and it eats 2k. Sure, it's 'current gen,' but you can tune graphics. There are so many games that will actually push your cpu and 2k isn't one. If 2k is pushing your PS5 it's because you're online, probably. Offline 2k, I mean I Can be recording, playing, everything and no lag. And that's ON the ps5.
You can ramp up graphics enough, to true 4k + candies, to make 2k harder to run, but I don't think even the PS5 version is that intensive. It's calibrated to run on the PS5, and they need to calibrate it to run on PC. Pretty simple. It should be a much more versatile 'engine' as I said because PCs are so different. If they kept 'bad graphics' or whatever with next gen physics/ui that would be different, but porting the CG to PC is a bad look... Personally I'd be fine with mediocre graphics as a base setting. I doubt many people who don't have some level of a gaming PC are playing 2k on their PC. They could also make it so that the modes like mynba/sim cast live etc were separate and be like, "Your cpu can't run the actual gameplay, but you can play the management aspect." Still, tho, if people can run new games at all, they should be able to run 2k.
Like I said my PC is pre-covid and I didn't splurge. I did get a 2070Super tho, but the main idea is... if you can run any games that are new, you can run 2k. Hard to see how that fails. Since you can change res and everything, it's all good. Even if people have to run next gen at 1080p, oh well! I don't understand why they haven't ported it to PC, but one of the pluses is, as I said before, I feel the PC version, when it finally does come, is actually 'better' in some ways than the console versions were.

Disappointed! What I really wanted was to play MyERAs mode on PS5 and Steam Deck with cross saves. But at least would have liked to play MyERAs on Steam Deck with 24. I would have been content continuing 23 ERAs on PS5. Oh well…Comment

Really wanted to take advantage of my 4090 / 7950x3d build.... by the time 2k actually makes next generation on PC it'll be time to upgrade againAntonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira - UFC Hall of FameComment
