Is this the year where we finally get young models of Steph and KD? Hmm. And really bummed to see no mention of retro playoff / finals logos and presentation.

The one other small detail I hope they implement that wasn’t mentioned is the 2-3-2 Finals format up to 2013. I want to go back and win the championship in Miami in Game 6 like the Mavs did IRL and that wasn’t possible in ‘23.
I really would’ve loved 09-10, but I’ll take 10-11 over 11-12 any day of the week

Glad to see the rumored Lebron Era added in but beyond that, as stated above by others, no other worthwhile news for this mode. The aging faces is a nice touch but hopefully it’ll be for more players other than just Kobe or Bron.

Kinda bummed we didn’t get any news about any new classic teams added or some added authenticity to the myERAs years. At this point I wonder if we will even get a Kobe led Lakers squad in..Hopefully more news to come this week with the Kobe moments news.

Re: NBA 2K24 Introduces New Updates to MyNBA

I have been asking for NBA.com or some centralized news hub to return for years and I am happy it's finally back. 2K did what 2K does and has it adapted for each era too. Thank you! I like the little touch with players aging as well. I was (probably still am) gonna do a reverse MyNBA where I start in the 80s but use the most recent draft class and go backwards. Start in 1984 but use the 2023 NBA Draft Class, then 2022, so on and so forth. Its bugged in 2K23 though because the 22 and 21 2K draft classes don't even have the real players in them. I am fine with the light touch but I need these bugs ironed out 2K. This is the only 2K news I truly care about. Preordered.

Hoping this finally means we are getting an accurate 2011 Heat LeBron player model and not just the current Lakers LeBron player model with a headband. Because LeBron in 2011 did not look the same as he does in 2023, less tattoos, a shorter beard and different build. Also hoping they have the NBA logo in the middle of the headband as well.

the kobe screenshot thats been floating around is based on the 2010 finals, so my guess would be the '10 Lakers make the cut, the question is does Andrew Bynum make a return.

Players’ appearances changing is exciting and the news system is cool but I’m disappointed those are the two biggest things. There’s still a lot of major bugs/ issues that I hope they addressed but didn’t mention.

MyNBA ERAs was such an amazing edition last year. My biggest concerns with the new game are whether the classic rosters created last year (Thank You MJWizard) will carry over to this game?

Also, in MyERAs Quick Play whether they now allow for downloading rosters and if ERAs will allow you to skip to a particular season in the ERA (for example instead of the ‘91-‘92 season play the ‘95-‘96 season immediately instead)?

Not overwhelming really….the Initial options screen can be a bit intimidating, I’m not into the minute franchise details like I used to be…

I wasn't expecting much this year since it wasn't being hyped like ProPlay and usually if it's something major implemented they lead with that (see last year).

That aside, I really do appreciate the automatic updating of appearance for players. Something I was hoping for last year even though it could be done manually. I also really do like them bringing back the newspaper articles and NBA.com stuff as it's been sorely missed in the mode for years.
Now, all that said, I'm EXTREMELY disappointed we got absolutely nothing on the aesthetic front besides the player appearance thing.

For me, the bigger issue was the lack of any proper attention to detail. Last year felt barebones and it was frustrating knowing those things were in game and only needed to be brought over from the Jordan Challenge.

Things like the Boston Garden in the 80s having accurate tables and signage but being a generic stadium in Eras. Them having a football stadium model that they used for the college and USA game but not using it for the Alamodome or Silverdome in Eras. The NBA Finals logo for tables, courts, and broadcast opening but absolutely nothing except for the current year's Finals lettering popping up on the stanchion and the ad table. Certain teams unis and courts not updating properly even though it said it did. What happened to the hats and tees players wore when celebrating the title in the Modern Era?

I appreciate the mode, but without those things it feels barren, lesser. Seeing these details appear in another mode only exacerbates the issue. And unlike players, we can't manually add these details using the creation suite because it is limited. Then there's no current gen PC version either where all this could be fixed.

I don't understand the point of MyNBA Lite. I feel like these days the only people who really play franchise mode are dorks like all of us here who actually want more options and more control, rather than a super streamlined experience. Just dunno what demographic that mode is for.
I’m curious to see it in action. I love the return of news publications. I used to love the video news and highlight reports reports from the older 2k’s.

I agree about the “lite” mode. I feel like we could already automate that stuff anyways from the initial set up screen. It’s the only mode I really play anymore. The only thing missing is face scanning, otherwise I’m ready for the roster/sneaker update.

There are good vibes about that MyEra Quick Play option for custom rosters, afaik its in this year finally. So we should be able to play quick play myera with custom rosters.
Skipping to any season its like asking to have every single NBA season available in the game, its an insane amount of stuff. Its something almost impossible in my eyes. We have 4 retro season and thats already a lot imho.
