Same with me on 2k23, I'm still playing this game, in my 3rd season on My Career and actually reached 99 over all. Never did any of that in previous versions may have gotten to 97 and never played this long...I'm still really enjoying it.

sorry to say but 2k23 has one of the worst defense AI logic and game is broken to me, i just hope 2k24 won't have those issues, a big guy backs down on a small guy, there HAS TO BE DOUBLE TEAM coming!

For me 2k23 is down there with 2k22 as one of the worst games I have ever played (which is every 2k since NBA 2k9).

The defensive logic is worse than ever, most coach/defensive settings do not work or have different effects than described and the shooting mechanic is just some "competitive" bull**** that does not resemble basketball.

I have only played it roughly above 100 hours, which includes many hours of roster preparation and league administration for our online league. I have never spent less than 200 hours on any other NBA 2k, up until NBA 2k18 it even was above 400 hours.

For me, the addition of the Jordan Challenges plus myERAs puts 2K23 as the best 2K I’ve played in years. Yes the defensive AI sucks balls and there are multiple areas where the game needs tuning or improvement but overall, I was still very satisfied with 23.

At this point, still on the fence about 2K24. Same time last year, I was salivating to get my hands on 2K23. This year, ehh it isn’t looking like must buy material to me.

I’m hoping 2K24 can break into my top 4 but as it stands my top 4 is 2K11, 2K13, 2K16, and 2K20 and probably in that order to give or take. After those 4 games like 2K12 and 2K10 come to mind, 2K9 as well, then I get to 2K23. Outta all those 2K’s mentioned, 23 has the least amount of 5v5 gameplay from me which is kinda sad but also a product of time I have and how much I play mycareer. A GOAT level 2K for me now is one where I play a ton of mycareer and a ton of 5v5 mynba. But all in all I felt it was a really good game with things that need to be fixed but it’s not super drastic like some 2K’s. Graphically the best they’ve ever been too (yes they still need improvements in some areas).

All the next gen 2K’s have been better than say 2K17 and 18 (which were borderline horrible in different ways), and I’m hoping 24 is a very polished version of what 23 was.

I'm surprised to not see 2K8 listed more here. It was largely considered the consensus GOAT until 2K11.

2k23 probs my favourite..
Beats 2k11.

I've pumped in over 1000hrs..
Lots and lots of roster editing and honestly I have watched more cpu v cpu games than I've actually played.
I sometimes jump in when a game is close but for the most part just watched the cpu games in my superleague roster.


I currently have no plans to buy 2k24. Not really interested in re editing every damn player and aspect of the roster so that the cpu plays right again when i finally have it sorted in 2k23.

I am currently nearing completion of a All NBA roster for a super super league which is something that has never been done.

30 all decade teams separated by division with no duplicates.
Ie: 80s pacific, 80s Northwest, 80s Southwest so on and so forth up until current all decade division teams.

And i have no interest in trying to replicate that in 2k24. I've put way to much into 2k23.
It's a great nba sim....yeah it has flaws that no roster editing can fix. .. (every game does) most glaring to me is defensive AI double team post logic... but I've got it playing real nice so am sticking with it.
