I have it on jump. It most resembles the early setting from last year and I love it. Sometimes I feel like I can’t miss now that I’ve found that sweet spot

After spending at countless hours in 2KU, scrimmage mode and blacktop mode, I settled on set point, jump feels good as well. Still having trouble hitting contested shots though.

Think I will stay on shot timing this yr because I love the ProPlay landings.

Set point and Push seem to be my favorites.

I don't even understand these shot timing settings. What are they supposed to mean?

Saw a video on YouTube of someone using curry's jumper to try to explain what each means. It varies depending on the jump shot.

This should help a little. I think I settled on Push but it was tough because it kind of depended on the player and jump shot. For me, Set and Push felt best. I don't even know if I tried Jump because even Set felt quick for me. Release was too late.

It's likely I will repurpose this into a front page thread as we've had various discussions about it across multiple threads.

TBH I don’t understand why we have to have a new jumpshot every single year. This is the 3rd year in a row they’ve made a major change. I know many people do, but I don’t have the time to learn a whole new way to shoot. I’m trying to have some fun and jump into the game.

Any tips? IDK what it was that made last year click for me, but right now (and I’ve only played a couple hours) I can’t shoot for s***.

Isn’t this just 2k renaming Very Early, Early, Late and Very Late to Jump, Set, Push and Release?

I think it's yes on the whole, but I do think there are some frame differences now on non-smooth jumpers or jumpers that had longer loads etc. last year vs. this year.

The explanations are better than last year but yeah you still need to understand what the new words mean and how they compare to NBA 2K23.

Anyway, front page article is now up with explanations for this.

So I couldn't shoot worth a damn for days, come to find out visually i'm trying to time it on the players release on screen. Didn't even realize that I had to change that setting in menus. My brain hurt wondering why the timing is off doing that. Shooting much much more respectable now.

Well I can’t crack the code on this. I watched the video and I still don’t understand exactly what it’s asking to do. I just want to release the stick at the top of the jump shot. I use set thinking that would be the best option but nope.

Are there any videos on the shot stick sliders for these

Shot Coverage Impact: Change the impact of being open or covered on all shots
Shot Timing Impact: Change the impact of shot meter timing

I cannot find a sweet spot.
