MyNBA: Can we please have normal Injury Recovery Times?

Injuries in MyNBA recover in half the time that it states in the injury reports. This was an annoying inclusion into the series in next gen MyNBA. Torn achilles, Torn ACL, Ruptured Achilles Tendon injuries shouldn't be something that players regularly recover from in the same season it occurs. It should not matter how good your training staff is.

Injuries heal currently at a rate of 1-4 days each day. So an injury that would normally have a player out 28 days will always heal in 1-2 weeks.

It's not Sim and it's not fun to go in and have to add time to every injury so it can have a realistic recovery time.

Yeah I set Lonzo Ball to the maximum days allowable (480) with left knee surgery, and I still have to go in and extend it come the All-Star break as he ends up playing the last ten games.

To add to this, suspension needs to be separated from the list of injury types or at least excluded from faster recovery times. I have calculated and set the duration days for like Morant, Bridges, Graham and Primo so they miss the correct number of games, but then they "recover" earlier. So I have to give them all long suspensions and then manually go in at the correct point of the schedule to ensure they only miss the right amount of games.

It’s SO annoying. MyNBA really needs one cycle that’s just clean-up, so many little things like this that make getting the mode right really tedious.

I had prime D Rose miss 2 weeks with a broken leg once and have had players with season ending injuries come back after two months. Hiring a physio seems to make players come back way too fast.

Some of the projected times for injuries are way too short as it is. 6 to 8 weeks for a broken ankle? Somebody should’ve told Gordon Hayward that.

Is it better without Physios? Cause if so I'll go through and fire every physio from every team.
I've been trying so many things to isolate what is the root cause of the fast recovery times. I tried removing all badges from training staff and it didn't really make a difference.

I think the player themselves is also a factor (maybe physical attributes?). I've set both Cancar and Harrell to have torn ACLs and I have to set Harrell's duration for longer, or he comes back by March, while Cancar always misses the full season.

100%. Having to do all sorts of adjustments has regularly killed my interest in MyNBA for years. The core foundation of the mode should be more important than adding another new feature that probably creates more bugs/wonkiness.

This is my question, as well. If it's just the physio staff slot being filled causing the problem, that isn't an awful thing to fix, and then just prevent for the CPU, in the offseason. I wonder how it works if you only allow teams to carry a team doctor, and remove all physio badges?

I've removed all badges from all doctors in my roster, so I can say for certain that the badges fix doesn't yield ideal results.

The badges do make recovery times even more ridiculous though, so you HAVE to remove trainer badges to stops guys from coming back from a 4 week injury in 4 days, but at a base level players are still healing in an unrealistic fashion.

When I google this seems to be an issue since at least 2k21, 3 years of this nonsense. Where does all that VC money go? Can 2k at least address all the Mynba issues as if they actually exist.

Get a bleeping QA team if the devs don't want to actually play the mode themselves. These bugs aren't even hard to spot...

Re: MyNBA: Can we please have normal Injury Recovery Times?

Typically when I play MyNBA, I'll start playing in late December after a few roster updates have been added. Last season I tried to be really accurate with the real NBA season and added injuries to the players in MyNBA. I really went for it and made a spreadsheet of injuries and checked every morning to see which players returned (I know, a lot of free time on my hands lol). I started out by adding the number of days they were injured and quickly noticed the players would return about a week or two early. I then changed the injuries to suspension and personal reasons but that didn't help either. I finally decided to give them a suspension for the season and would remove the injury once they were really supposed to return. I chose suspension as the injury that way I could figure out which guys on the injured list were guys that I placed on injury versus the guys that the CPU injured. Then I'd remove the injured player that the CPU added.

It would also bother me when the CPU would sign free agents that I didn't want playing that season. Last year, CPU teams kept signing Miles Bridges and Josua Primo as free agents. I put them both back on the free agent list and added season long injuries, yet they were still able to be signed. I hate how you can't trade an injured player but you can sign one.

This bothers me too, just for immersion. This year I've placed Bridges and KPJ on a 480-day suspension and have also reduced their OVR to around 65-70 each, to try and stop the CPU signing them.

Alternatively, you can just create a custom roster and delete players like that from the game if you don't want them in your save. But if it's just for the one season, temporarily reducing their OVR and potential is a workaround.

I would suggest just increasing the injury duration slider personally

If the problem started with next-Gen then its most likely tied to the MyStaff overhaul. Every team has Doctors (and Badges) that they slapped onto the existing algorithm.

IIRC there are Sliders to control injury frequency/severity that you can toggle in your season setup.

It must be the staffers yea. My injury duration and frequency sliders are maxed out.

I did a test after firing every teams medical staff except for the Team Doctor. I'm still seeing all injury time progressing 2-4 days per day simulated.

If anyone is getting a different result please tell me how. Here's how I've been testing it:
Find an injured player (or add an injury) and go into the edit player menu. Check how much time is left on the injury. Simulate a day and then check again. Simulate another day and then check again.
You should notice that after simming each day their recovery time is dropping by more than 1 day.

Suspensions and personal reasons are not exempt. They also progress by more than a day each time you sim.
