Re: NBA 2K25 Wishlist
Re: NBA 2K25 Wishlist
I play MyNBA, modern era, CPU vs CPU (or at least I used to, I haven't played in a couple of years), so this is mostly the stuff I'd want to see implemented for playing MyNBA/as a general manager, rather than gameplay stuff.
Small bug fixes, like:
- Fix the bug where teams don't sign their own second-round picks
- Increase how much teams prioritize re-signing their own star players to long-term extensions. I saw someone say that the rookie extension bug was fixed, but it seems like teams do not take advantage of it.
- Fix player progression so that 10 years in the future the league still looks sort of like it does now in terms of balance. In past 2Ks if you skip ahead 10-12 years almost every player 90 and above is a real player in their mid-late 30s, with a bunch of players bunched in around 80-85, and no real superstars. It shouldn't be hard to create weights so that generally speaking the quality of NBA players stays roughly the same on average throughout the years.
- Overhaul the scouting/draft system. As long as I'm dreaming, the scouting throughout the season should be more dynamic and fog-of-war. You should hone in on how good a player is over the course of a season (sort of like Madden does). Players should rise and fall (think about how often a guy projected as a late second rounder shoots up draft boards throughout the year because he's having a good season). You should be able to "work out" players more than just at the 2k Hoops Summit (which also shouldn't show player ratings when you play it). And after you draft a player, you shouldn't immediately know how good he is, or how high his potential is. Keep it to grades and estimates. And then you uncover more info about a player with playing time and practice.
- Improve draft presentation. Have a real green room! How cool would it be to see players walk up to the podium to get drafted and put on their team hat? This would be cool for older eras, too.
- Create more role playing elements or interactivity at big moments like the trade deadline or first few days of the free agency moratorium. Signing and trading players just feels like doing spreadsheet work when there should be some real life elements to it. A timer at the trade deadline where you can see who's on the trade block and have conversations with other GMs would be really entertaining.Comment

Re: NBA 2K25 Wishlist
Releasing the PC version with the next-gen version should be priority #1 at least...as of right now what we get are basically yearly roster updates and they aren't even good ones, player portraits aren't updated (a lot of them still use pictures dating back to 2k21, even further maybe), player accessories and colors aren't updated at all, hairstyles are outdated, a lot of shoes are removed for some reason, hopefully they care a little more with these small things.Comment

Re: NBA 2K25 Wishlist
This is quite niche but I'd love if draft classes included international players coming through the college system - as in prospects that still have the cultural-specific name and are eligible for the world team, but also have a college assigned (eg - the Wagner brothers, Vucevic, Simmons etc). Right now every prospect from college is American and every international prospect comes directly from that country.
This would increase immersion given the game tends to generate a lot of prospects from countries without an established basketball program (Nigeria, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Mexico, England). It would also stop draft classes being filled with players coming directly from Canada, when IRL all of the elite Canadian prospects come through the NCAA.
Obviously you can manually just assign a college to prospects via the player edit screen, but I like to play without editing draft classes too much as I want them to be random so it would be cool if the game could do this for you.Last edited by sirdez; 01-03-2024, 07:19 PM.Comment

Euroleague mode with scanned players and proplay.
For many people euroleague represents the best style of basketball. In the last World cup you witnessed what the FIBA basketball is capable of.
I think 2ksports needs to scan all the euroleague players and create a great mode.
In 2k15 they added euroleague teams and now in 2024 with next gen technology, they can make something special.
They can even make this a paid dlcComment

I would also say EuroCup teams as well.. scanning them may be some work though cause you see how they dealwith NBA players... lolComment

Defensive settings that actually work and a way to have individual players stay home on assignments without using deny ball.
The only way to have shooters stay home currently is deny ball which is susceptible to back door cuts. I don't know why there isn't a way to have defenders stay home on individual players while using, tight, moderate and even gap as well. That said, I've had instances where even with deny ball on, the cpu will just randomly leave their man, with no double team called, every other defender covering their man and no mismatches. This is both with and without ACE.
When I go up against the 70/71 Bucks (who should not be a tier 3 team, they have a higher rating than some current tier 1 teams), I put deny ball on positions 1-3 and sometimes 5, leave him off ball and gap on ball for Greg Smith at the 4 with a double on catch and double on drive for Kareem and Cameron Johnson STILL guards Greg Smith out at the 3 point line and might bring a late double team on occasion. Emphasis on might.
A new physics engine altogether. I would not be surprised if there's still code from the original Dreamcast games in these new entries. I've got footage of players going through other players like they were ghosts and that's something I remember seeing back in 2k10 and 11. Case in point:

Re: NBA 2K25 Wishlist
Remove all those unnecessary dribble animations: the CPU triggered dribbles for the user to slow the dribbler down.
These animations doesn't happen for the CPU.
Especially the animations that's triggered after crossing half court.
The lean back dribble that occurs when using turbo once you get below the free throw line.
If the user doesn't crossover there should be no crossover.Last edited by Keshunleon33; 01-18-2024, 09:38 PM.Comment
