Relative to other roster editors, as someone who focused on badges and editing them for every single player in the league, it's going to make things a lot more straight forward.

How they tier/balance badges is going to be way more important than the sheer volume of them.
Do you have any concern that consolidation means less ability to hone in on the specific areas in which a player excels? For instance, if there's a player who -- with the old badges -- may have deserved gold Catch & Shoot but bronze Set Shooter, but now those are consolidated into one badge, what's the strategy in 2K25 for achieving that same nuance?

I'm not arguing, by the way; I'm just verbalizing my own worries re: roster-making (and hoping you can put them to rest!).

I think the vast majority of people are not capable of making these arguments or discerning these nuances, and the majority of examples are going to be so corner case it doesn't matter.

"Deserve" is an entire rabbit hole once we're removing data and other tangibility from the equation (something many of the departing badges were ultimately lacking).

It shouldn't take a two minute badge analysis to determine whether a player is a great shooter or not.

The point of badges is simplification.

It's the whole reason why these abilities are on a Bronze/Silver etc scale rather than a 25-99 Attribute.

Did you notice that K.Love quick stepback? It seems it's a left stick move. I've been asking for this move for years.

Now we can fake the shot and sidestep for an open 3 with players who are not great at moving shots. Thank god!

Every team gives a different feel and experience due to the playbooks and the stars of each team. Playing with the Nuggets it's a real joy using Jokic. And if you play a realistic style of basketball following the gameplan and the strengths of every team, the gameplay shines.
All the new features are already in the game but not in a way that was prevalent through special animations or button presses.
Signature go-to shots and Pro stick rythm shooting are just controller gimmicks.
              Shot cancelling is in 2k24.
Shot timing profiles, another visual indicator for the controller.
The ps5 controller has so many sensors and they only use the basics and you want me to believe that the game understands how fast or alow I move the thumbstick?
Defensive movement system is shown with a 3 second clip which shows one animation which I'm sure is in 2k24.
So my hopes are with proplay 2, smoother dribbling and general minor fixes. Like every year. The phrase smooth as butter will be in everyone's lips. I am not going to miss out on NBA 2k25 either way.
