Re: NBA 2K25 Player Ratings - Updated As They Are Revealed

I love how consolidating the badges has helped lower players' overall drastically. Nice to see quality players all throughout the 80's and 'all - stars' at 89.

I still wish only a handful of players were in the 90 tier. I know the league is loaded with talent, but 20 possible players still feels like a lot for that tier.

Butler -4 is crazy. This is the first player we've seen drop outside of the standard range. Superstars have more badges than everyone else, so we might see a few more of these.

Maxey and Paolo are nowhere close to Butler's level, so even if that is the case, they didn't re-balance appropriately (Intangibles) to account for it.

                Yeah, Paolo 89 overall ?

Have not seen his attributes but, surely the intangibles are at 100 or more, he is the best ORL player, just not on this level compared to the rest, 87 at most ... then again, lets see the individual ratings.

Probably has been said, but having 100 players rated 80+ OVR seems like too much for me. Especially 20 guys over 90+. It would've been nice for more disparity

Agreed, but if you are an offline player all it takes is lowering most guys' intangible rating.

I'm fine with Nikola, Giannis, Luka & Shai being high to mid - 90's - Embiid too since the Durability rating doesn't affect overall - but everyone else should be a bit below them, IMO.

I'm fine with Nikola, Giannis, Luka & Shai being high to mid - 90's - Embiid too since the Durability rating doesn't affect overall - but everyone else should be a bit below them, IMO.

It's okay for notable guys to be rated in the 70s. When I think of guys rated 90+, I think of guys who are the best of the best and guys who could be the best player on a championship team. For example, as a Sixers fan, we love Maxey. Maxey could've been a 83-85 OVR instead of a 89 and I would've been good with it.

It just feels like they don't want to hurt anyone's ego

That definitely plays a huge part in not just NBA 2K but all sports games rating athletes. They get way too butt hurt and hung up on not being a 'certain number.' Instead of wondering if they are being accurately 'recreated' in the game, IMO.
