oh jesus christ ok i misunderstood i thought you were saying when i set mine to high risk it doesn't apply online lol. my overall pt is that all this stuff and options are catered to mycareer players and i don't like it. i wish it was how it was back in the old days shooting wise where it would just be difficulty based and you didn't need to edit your release pt

Okay so an offline user, just looking to play the NBA portion of NBA 2K25, which option would be best? I have no ego, I’m just trying to enjoy the game. I’m confused with all of this pure green window and other stuff. I want to be able to make shots without having to always get a green release.#HeatNation

Re: Who is still shooting on high risk? And why?
1) That chart is BS if I'm understanding it correctly. I use Low-Risk and have never missed a green timed shot, whereas that chart says a green timed shot has a 50% chance of missing? Unless I'm completely misreading it, that is totally inaccurate. Now if that chart means that "perfect timing" only results in a GREEN 50% of the time, that would make more sense. But I've never gotten a green timing on Low Risk that didn't result in a bucket.
2) Normal Risk will hardly ever make Slightly Early/Slightly Late shots. You have to be extremely close to green timing in order to make those "white" shots.
3) Low Risk is for anyone looking for an experience that is essentially "Real Player % if my timing is close-ish, and a guaranteed bucket if my timing is perfect". Normal Risk is more of a "Guaranteed miss if my timing is only close-ish, Real Player % if my timing is close to perfect, and a guaranteed make if my timing is perfect" experience.
The best experience depends on how much a person wants their timing to matter.Last edited by EccentricMeat; 09-07-2024, 12:52 AM.Comment

Re: Who is still shooting on high risk? And why?
If you take open/ wide open shots with a high rating then low risk is a good option.
High risk is for when you have a low rating and still want to make shots.
A 75 3pnt then you need high risk.
A 95 3pnt then low risk is the better option if you take open shots
Basicially high risk values timing over coverage and ratings
Normal; ratings coverage and timing have the same value as in previous games
Low risk values ratings and coverage over timing.
Your shot selection should determine what to use….

I'm taking the same shots hitting both. I don't know anymore. I give them credit for trying to diversify skill and what kind of player you are. They also probably did this to add a layer to Zen defence movement.

Re: Who is still shooting on high risk? And why?
If true that's awesome IMO, makes me like Low Risk even better. I just like being able to slightly mistime a shot and have it still go in if it's a good shooter and/or wide open.Comment

Re: Who is still shooting on high risk? And why?
2k lab did a breakdown, and I can confirm from playing that it is more than that. High risk has a bigger green window AND a 100 percent pure green window.
Normal risk has no pure green window. Even if you time the shot perfectly, there is only a 60 percent chance it will green. This, there is no purely green window.
High risk has a 100 percent green window. Normal does not. That’s the key difference more than the green window size.
That is correct. Difficulty can affect window size, but it doesn’t affect pure green window versus non pure green window.

yea I dunno if I feel 2k labs 'science,' but I always will skew toward having shots I can make regardless. I think that's even truer this year for when you can actually get space and make shots that are actually contested.
It's not so much ego for me as it is highest potential. I know I'll figure it out.
I dunno if that's applied to lay ups as well? I haven't even done much jumper shooting and I haven't tried rhythm, but I assume it's like a golf game.

Re: Who is still shooting on high risk? And why?
With high risk i noticed there are no rattles amd bounces on the rim its more miss or swish but on difficulty based i get rattles and bounces and a lot more rim/ball physics which imo is the best addition this year compared to last year green swishes on all shots and i hated 2k24 for that.
Im still doubting on which option to choose and i need to test more maybe low risk reward or difficulty based because i want whites to go in also but most importantly i need that variety regarding rolls bounces and rattlesPsn : MORO79Comment
