Re: AI is still unbalanced after the subs patch and stars take too many shots
That wouldn't be an issues , if your own Stars are not super easy to score with , while rest of your team is not able to.
I just had game where Tatum dumped 70 out of 110 points and when i tried 3 point shots with Houser or Brown from their hot spots, they couldn't even hit the rim, despite green release. On the other side Brunson had 50, while rest of NY team shoot collectively in mid 20%.
I am playing on default SS btw,and i follow play calls that are called. Same happens on AS. Other than that game plays much , much better than last year. AI actually knows how to defend on both sides.Last edited by tariq071; 09-13-2024, 06:57 PM.Comment

Re: AI is still unbalanced after the subs patch and stars take too many shots
Star players will put up 40+ routinely if they face an opponent that doesn't send help and lets them take over a game like that. So if the CPU is regularly putting up 40+ with at least one player and 70+ with two players, you're not doing your job to slow them down.
Easiest way to slow down a star is to send help. Go to your team's Coach Sliders in the Gameplan section and increase the Help Defense slider there. Anything below 65 might as well be 0, and don't be afraid to jack this slider up until you're happy with the amount of help coming over. You can also set your defensive settings to double team a player or to send help on the drive, so don't be afraid to do that either.
It's a GOOD thing if one or two players from the CPU are dominating a user who isn't making use of the options at their disposal to slow that player down.Comment

What shot timing profile are you using? I've never seen a green miss, and I don't actually believe that's possible. That wouldn't be an issues , if your own Stars are not super easy to score with , while rest of your team is not able to.

Re: AI is still unbalanced after the subs patch and stars take too many shots
The last thing we should worry about is star players playing like star players even if in some games they're excessively dominant. It's not going to happen in every game and it gives more motivation to play defense and focus on them tactically. It wasn't that long ago we were complaining about the lack of impact of superstar players. Hopefully there's going to be sone kind of balancing in October without nerfing them too much.

Re: AI is still unbalanced after the subs patch and stars take too many shots
I love that stars are finally taking more shots. It would drive me nuts before when I play the Nuggets and Jokić takes 2 shots in a half. I would literally double everyone else just to force AI to get the ball to Jokić so he can take more shots.
But I have also had many games so far where a lesser player like Eddie House or Raymond Felton etc. hits 2-3 shots in a row and AI starts calling 4-5 plays in a row for them to see if they can get hot.
My biggest gripe now that the rotation issue is mostly fixed is that screens are too OP, both for me and AI. I get when they provide some separation and a wide open look here and there. But I have switch everything sometimes and still have Ray Allen getting WIDE OPEN off 3 floppies in a row.Comment

Re: AI is still unbalanced after the subs patch and stars take too many shots
Most players are increased from where they were in 2K24.
Strong Handle
Description: Reduces the likelihood of being bothered by defenders when dribbling.
CURRENT
HOF (1): Zion Williamson
GOLD (22): Giannis Antetekounmpo, Josh Giddey, Jayson Tatum, James Harden, Jimmy Butler, DeMar DeRozan, Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle, LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Franz Wagner, Paolo Banchero, Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic, Tyrese Haliburton, Cade Cunningham, Bruce Brown, Chris Paul, Kevin Durant, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Anthony Edwards, Kyle Anderson
TOTAL BADGES: 118 Players (Approximately 26% of standard NBA players)
DEFAULT ROSTER
GOLD: Kyrie Irving (now a Silver), Stephen Curry (now a Bronze)
Not sure the reason for the change (or when it occurred), but this was something I specifically referenced on here yesterday. 2K if you want me to just do the badges for you, cut the check.
All the Stars have GOLD Strong Handle and GOLD Physical Finisher. I'm serious when I say all of them. Forget players like Zion, guards like Steph Curry have Gold. This wasn't the case in 2K24. If players feel like they're unstoppable, it's because they literally might be.
Physical Finisher
Description: Improves a player's ability to battle through contact and convert contact layups.
HOF (2): Giannis Antetokounmpo, Zion Williamson
GOLD (28): Joel Embiid, Damian Lillard, Donovan Mitchell, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, James Harden, Ja Morant, G.G.
