I haven't checked the game yet (I did check the patch notes), but one thing I don't think they're going to change is the Edit Player menu, where toggling through Home and Away shoes and accessories no longer automatically results in the player's look changing from one to the other. I was told that this was intentional.

Oh I almost forgot. I was also forced upon entering the menu to listen to the atrocious soundtrack which they even dare to call "music" but after the initial shock I managed to navigate 3 menus and shut it down.Comment

I don't think I've thrown up so much in my life I've a single tweet like that in a long time.
What I wish 2K did was remove the suggested sale that keeps popping up at the main menu. That **** should be completely illegal!!! Or let me opt out.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

cpu rotation not fixed. Cunningham up to 40 minutes? this has never been an issue in prior 2ks. defensive matchups are working except for the last 2 minutes when, of course, the AI will put your weakest perimeter defender on the CPU best offensive player.Last edited by Dmanning2; 10-22-2024, 10:13 PM.Comment

Missing barely contested layups and inside ****s now. I just gotta lmao at the people who complained about it being hard to defend shots in the paint, IT WAS NOT. Since the defense already worked how it was supposed to work, they nuked the layup success rate for all finishes. The contests worked fine, the layups made and missed were perfect. Notlw I'm missing layups where the defender doesn't even challenge smh.Comment

Im really enjoying the gameplay post patch. Idk why yall are tripping but try and play default Superstar sliders.
Game is feeling smoother with the better responsiveness and the CPU AI is more aggressive on offense (Thank god). I suspect its due to the changes to the contest system, im feeling like they are shooting faster and reacting a little faster as well.Comment

Imagine how comprehensive and immersive a basketball experience this game would be if they didn’t have all that crap which clearly takes up majority resources. We could literally have real life nba and even first person immersion of nba players.Comment

I was hoping that the hook shots would be fixed. They’re way too inconsistent. Hakeem or Kareem would never miss a 4ft hook shot in practice mode. 2k24 had it perfect. I can consistently make 3s with someone like Tyrese Maxey (who’s good, but not Steph), but a the most elite 7ft post players in history miss point blank hook shots in practice? Makes zero sense…except for the fact that post play has been nerfed across the board…Comment

The only thing that comes to mind is "why?". What is this nonsense doing in a game that claims to be a basketball simulation? I don't get it. This must have taken a fair bit of time, resources and manpower to make seeing as it's a full game mode and not a simple minigame or something trivial like that.
Even in a City setting, it has NOTHING TO DO WITH BASKETBALL CULTURE, pardon the caps. It's a Rocket League type game mode. Who is this even for? What adult is going to play this? What diehard basketball fan is going to play this? This garbage is clearly aimed at casual gamers, mostly minors. It's aggravating at best and predatory at worst.
I'm really enjoying the game. As I've said before, it's up there with the GOATs like 2K11. My only gripe with 2K25 so far is the absurd CPU shooting, which can be tuned with sliders. I've had some success countering it with defensive adjustments and strategy, but damn, I don't want every game to feel like Game 7 of the NBA Finals. Sadly, MyGM doesn't allow you to adjust sliders, so I will have to sim every game on MyGM and play games on the sticks on MyNBA instead. Not too big of an issue. What matters is that the core gameplay is the best in many years.
However, I DO have an issue with this. If this is the direction 2K as a franchise is going, regardless of how much I like 2K25, that leaves a lot of room for concern regarding the future of the franchise. This is not okay. We've learnt to accept City as part of the package, but this goes too far, this really crosses a certain line.Comment
