Lmao for real. 2K25 could use brighter crowds but the LAST thing it needs is brighter courts. Especially playing before bed, last thing I need is flashlight beaming at me for 2 hours by way of a court so bright it washes out the wood textures.

The lighting is one of the first things I noticed with the Pro upgrade as well. I don't necessarily feel that there's a huge difference, but playing on the Pro provided a noticeable enough upgrade for me. I found myself wanting to play with a camera angle that was a little lower and closer to get a better sense of immersion and settled on 2K Low at 4 and 4 for height and distance.

The animations and overall gameplay look and feel great. Everything is sharp and crisp and the immersion is there for me. I've been getting great games as well with FG%'s ranging from 47%-52% consistently on default All-Star which is perfect for me.

Something I’ve noticed over the last couple days on the PRO is I’ve had to turn off all the artificial picture stuff (dynamic contrast, micro contrast etc….) on my TV that used to make the picture on my series. X look better. It all looked horrible on the PlayStation Pro.

It’s never going to be some massive improvement. The games are made first and foremost for the lowest common denominator, being the base model PS5 or *shudders* the Xbox Series S. All the Pro is ever really going to do is maximize the resolution and frame rate and input fluidity, not overhaul entire base games.

It’s like going from a $500 GPU to a $1500 GPU. You’ll hit 4k/120 instead of 1440p/120 or 4K/60, but the games are still all going to be the same as before. SOME games will also add in ray tracing that is a noticeable step up, but still not some complete overhaul.

Not sure what people are expecting out of the Pro to justify their purchase. It’s not some magic genie, it’s just better hardware. Buy it if you want the best performance and fidelity, ignore it if you’re ok with what you currently get. I’m loving the Pro, but I play 2K on PC. And even on my PC, which is a hell of a lot more expensive than the PS5 Pro, the difference is only slight when compared to even the base PS5. It just is what it is.

One of the best takes I’ve read in this entire thread. I’ve been on the fence and for me, the upgrades to CFB25, Madden 25 and the many other single player games plus at least one year exclusivity of Ghost of Tsushima sequel and GTA6 is making me wanna go ahead and take the splurge.

Well since my comment I bought one and I’m impressed [emoji23] the Framerate is a lot better if nothing else

Some games will be more noticeable than others. CFB25 looks a lot better and runs smoother than the base consoles. NBA 2k seems like it was rushed just to add ps5 pro enhanced.

I’ve been saying this all along. Unfortunately, some people think that because the console is $200-250 more than the base consoles it should be worlds better.

Not to completely derail here, but was CFB25 running at 4K120FPS on the XSX?

In terms of the Pro, it's provided me with an upgrade to several games I enjoy playing and would like to play through again now. The upgrade to NBA2K25 wasn't substantial, but noticeable. I don't know if the developer will do anything else to take advantage of the Pro's capabilities, but at the very least it's made this year's game more enjoyable for me.

No, it’s being upscaled from less than 1440p and it looks very soft and not sharp at all and 60fps on gameplay while it’s 30 fps on cutscenes. It looks much better on the pro. Way sharper at 60fps at all times and higher textures and much better grass.

That's kind of what I thought on CFB25. I didn't think it was 4K on either base console, but I read that it was running 120FPS on XSX.
