So how exactly does one block more shots?

First make sure your PF and C have high block ratings. My favorite bronze to use are Chris Johnson, Mozgov, Brandon Wright, Ekpe Udoh, and Biyombo. The second thing you need to learn to do is bait the CPU by moving one of your big men away from the offensive player so they pass to him, then back off a little so he'll hopefully start his shooting motion which is when you turbo towards him for a block. Actually you'll get burned a ton doing this but you'll get more blocks.

I just hope they patch this mode so we can get rewarded for other stats besides blocks.

Hopefully, you guys figured out a way to exploit this mode by patting blocks. Because, this is stupid and makes me want to quit this mode.

Shake4andBake's video showed him getting 6000+ points with just 8 blocks, so I'm sure there's some sort of formula for multiplier involving certain stats. Blocks obvious weigh the most. Maybe since it's the hardest of all stats?
I'm guessing it's similar to NBA 2K13's MyCareer mode last year. TO was way more important than any other stats and couldn't get number one overall pick, if you even had 1 TO during the Rookie Showcase game.

All in all, I'm very grateful guys found a way to get 3 stars pretty much every time.
Time to go grind for players, so I can form a competitive team for Road to the Playoffs without having to spend money for VC.

I got 6000 points against the Heat with my bronze team. 6000 points. ONLY TWO STARS. THANKS 2K. The game says "earn 6000 points", not 6001. SMH.

It's extremely difficult for me to get enough blocks. I don't have any shot blockers. Thought that 9 blocks and a 20 point margin would be enough.

I'm wondering if the points required are cumulative (though until we actually get the packs we earn, it'll be hard to prove this or not).

This was the most useful thing I could find on the internet about the game mode and how to get 3 stars, so thanks to everyone!

Because it was so useful to me, I figured I'd post what I've figured out after playing for the first time yesterday. I've played 6 games.

1st game: 72-62 win against Orlando, solid all-around game, 4800 points
2nd game: 73-70 OT loss against Charlotte, went for blocks (15+) and played horrible otherwise, 7800 points -- Al Jefferson
3rd game: 70-60 win against Washington, same as game #1, 4000 points
4th game: Won vs Atlanta, went for blocks like game #2, played well and won by like 15, 8200 points -- Louis Williams
5th game: LOST 141-11 VS MIAMI (ended on a 9-0 run tho haha), HAD 30 BLOCKS, 9800 POINTS -- GREG ODEN

After that series of games, and obviously this thread, it's clear that blocks are the only thing that matters. What the hell, 2k?

The best way to get blocks is to bait the CPU and either block or switch to another player and block. It's easy, especially with 2 centers on the floor, and it's not like my guys were world beaters (Zaza and Dieng). If you aren't getting the blocks, just play around with the timing and baiting. Also, you get x3 for bronze, so only use bronze players!

But playing game #5 over and over would be like getting waterboarded, so I'm going to play like this from now on:

Did they update the mode? I was under the impression that we only got rewarded players if we got a three star rating against a team, but last night I got two stars against the Bucks and got rewarded with Ersan Ilyasova in my two star pack.

Having a tough time getting 3 stars. I know I'm supposed to go for blocks, and that's all I try to do but teams with a pf/center that can shoot the mid it seems impossible when the AI is constantly running sets that have one or both big men out of the paint. Teams like Trailblazers or the Heat. Also half the time I get a block another player gets called for a blocking or shooting foul. Any tips?

Yeah, I just can't seem to get enough blocks. Even when I try to purposefully turn the ball over every time I get it I still average around 2 blocks a quarter.

I think that this game mode could be great, and I would love to see more support for it here on forums.

Two things:

1) I REALLY want to see Stats in next year's MyTeam or if they can patch it into this year. I want to see my team record even if it's offline domination or tournament, it should keep an overall record. I also bought Live 14, and their Ultimate Team is set up this way and it's awesome! I love knowing where I stand, and it would be cool if they kept track of players stats over the course of the mode almost like a never ending season. I think it would add more depth and keep players coming back to it.

2) The domination scoring system needs to be patched. As everyone else has mentioned, needing to focus solely on blocks and nothing else is terrible IMO. I want to play the game and be rewarded for winning and playing great. And I don't want to be forced to use bronze players just to get a higher score. I don't want to obtain gold players easily but if I save up the MT points and purchase a gold pack, I'd like to be able to use the player and not get less points because of it.

Just my two cents, would love to know what everyone thinks!

Maybe online, I'm talking about offline in Domination. Plus who cares, usually the people that have all gold teams are bad at the game and just buy VC for Gold packs.

I want to be able to use my gold players that I earned by saving up MT points and not be penalized by not receiving as many points for it. That's what I'm saying.

IMO they definitely lowered block success in this mode, but just for you, not the CPU. Play a game in tournament mode then go back to this mode and the difference is noticeable. It wouldn't bother me so much if they also changed it to where blocks weren't main factor in getting points, but that hasn't appeared to change. They also still haven't given us any idea how points are earned--how many points for rebounds, blocks, steals, assists, etc... Pretty crappy.

I'm having trouble getting enough blocks, but the way to do it is certainly to get a few players in double figures, score 70-ish points, and get 10 blocks. That's almost a certain 3 stars.

I'm struggling to consistently hit the block number, but I get there about half the time I play. When my game doesn't crash.

Completely agree on both counts! I really miss the cumulative stats (both team and individual) from the "Ultimate Team" games. And yeah, our rating should turn on how well we play overall, not on whether we spam blocks.

So your two issues are my top two issues, but I'd add a third, lower-priority item to my own wish list: a "season" offline mode, like the Seasons in the Ultimate Team games, or a way to have my ersatz Celtics play through the actual Celtics' 2013-14 season, or something. Offline tournaments and offline Domination are nice, but I'd like a season (or series of seasons) so that I can see my stats develop on a yearly basis.

I'd also like to know what difficulty level this mode is on. No one seems to know.
