I don't think it's only HOF. If you compare it to the #1 draft pick challenge, it feels like both are HOF but the sliders are so much to your disadvantage. It's not just better sliders for the CPU but it feels like your sliders are lowered. In the #1 pick challenge, it's still hard to defend, but I'm actually able to hit 3s that don't have perfect releases.

its 3x harder than #1 pick challenge. this type of ****ery makes me not want to play. I hear some of you guys say that you won but my playing style is just not built to win this and 2Bros. User sliders are lowered. Just a list of things...

      • CPU gets fouled if you breathe on them....User cant buy a foul.
      • I didnt shoot 3's in the 2nd game, but it didnt matter, post-play is ineffective. You cant hit 2ft wide open sometimes so you know a fade is useless.
      • James Worthy NEVER misses 3pt shot.
      • Doesnt matter who your Center or PF is....you are gonna get killed on the boards.
      • They dont miss wide open shots but you will....3pt, midrange, under the basket.
      • somebody mentioned Hack-A-Shaq.....he shoots 90% FT
      • In Man defense my guys are standing around and lets CPU get open shots in the paint
      • set to limit transition but hardly anyone ever gets back on D....the CPU isnt that fast

thats just a small list of things, dont get me started on Fish and Horry making shots with guys hanging all over them while AC Green is picking KD's pocket.

I am just playing it because I want to beat it, not because of the measly 12k MT, thats worthless. I appreciate the challenge because it increased the value of Celtic cards. I sold 2 Tom Sanders cards for 19k and another for 25k. Also made off good with Parish and McHale, getting 20k for the two.

All the challenges were beatable but this one and 2Bros.....its too much BS. I just dont like that they are so long. You can be up by 10 with 2 min left and lose by 15. Dont forget about server disconnects when you are a 3rd of the way through the game.

        Re: LD2K Challenge

So i attempted this challenge for the first time last night. I only had sapp Russell for a celtic so i bought the cheapest i could. Now i need to beat this and limit my tax loss when i sell those celts back. So i was up by 10 near the end of the first when they had their bench in. And still up by 1 at half but i could not stop them from scoring. It was like they scored everytime down the floor. I ended up giving up and losing by almost 30. It is tough when worthy hits 70% of his shots for 39 points. I think my biggest problem was lack of depth as i was mostly running a 6 man rotation. I do think i can beat it on the second try. It also didnt help that Hakeem was in foul trouble. below is my 6 man rotation

        Sapp Robertson
        89 Gold Jordan
        Gold Lebron
        Sapp Russell
        Sapp Hakeem
        Diamond Durant

The no call fouls are ridiculous. My guys got knocked to the floor 10 to 15 times with no call. Flagrant type fouls with no whistle. I will probably try one more time but it's not worth the time investment it takes to play it if the CPU is going to basically cheat. I don't think it should be easy to beat that team as it is stacked but the way they win is so unrealistic.

              Re: LD2K Challenge

tried the challenge again today and lost worse then the first time. you ever notice that sometimes when you play the cpu they switch to another gear? like when you play domination and 9-10 times you be the computer by 25-30 points but that one time they keep up with you and sometimes beat you. well this game was that one. i knew i was done about 5 minutes in to the 1st quarter.

I lost this game by 40 points. i was furious because i know i am a decent player who loves playing defense. but when the sliders are turned down in the cpu favor what are you to do. also their sats are boosted. you cant have the game set where the user has no miss match on the court. there is no reason why a PG cant get past a Center. aside from all the physics issues with this game you go and set these bs sliders making them play like the monstars. thats not challenging thats cheap.

I beat this on the second try.

On offense, i just ran p&r with a fast PG and kicked out to whoever was open. Very simple strategy. No cheesing involved.

On defense, I don't know what to tell you guys. Double shaq in the post and try to protect the paint when kobe is driving. Make sure you contest their jumpers.

I was up by 15 at one point. They made a big run in the 4th because my starting SG got hurt and Sam Jones let Kobe score a few. I won by 3.

                  Re: LD2K Challenge

You have to implore a certain strategy to win this. and there still isnt a guarantee. I want to beat it now just because its so annoying. not for the 12k MT which is pure chicken change. If someone had no Celtic players and had to purchase 8 at inflated value (and they cant be all bronze or you are asking for trouble) then they would lose most if not all of that 12k in tax. Most players are gonna lose around 6k in tax minimum.

I have 6 accounts. I collect all good players when they are cheap...so I got several Parish cards for $2k. been selling him for $7k since the challenge came out. Have McHale cards I purchased for 3500-4k. been selling him for $13k. So the reward for this is not worth the time. thats why I say all these things should be for a player. If its not for 25k mt, it aint worth the frustration.

the other challenges like Wilkens and #1 picks were better because the sliders werent ridiculously slanted and 3 golds should be all you need.

I lost this challenge with Lebron, young MJ, Paul George, Diamond KD, Drexler, McHale, Parish, Rondo, KC Jones, Avery Bradley, and Cowens. I also lost with a variation of that lineup that included Hakeem and gold Steph.

I took Hakeem out as he really served no purpose since they cant score in the post. Plus Hakeem was getting killed on the boards. Parish cant score in the post either in this challenge but he is a good Celtic card.

the way you lose is what makes you want to punch somebody over at 2k. as in real life it only takes a minute for a game to get out of control. the way it happens here is unrealistic though. Jordan, Lebron, Clyde get knocked under the basket support and no foul, next play down Fisher throws up a prayer under intense d, and gets an And-1. lol.

If anyone has beat this game while shooting below 70% let me know. thats the only way I see winning. you have to play a perfect game. I was up by 15 and the computer went on a 40-7 run and time outs dont stop the bleeding.

I also thought it would be easy if you stop Kobe and Worthy. no. I shut both of them down one game.....but Shaq was amazing, and he rarely misses FTs (really???) Wilt had like 30 boards and a gang of and ones. Then Jerry West and Gail Goodrich just went ballistic from 3.

                        Re: LD2K Challenge

Finally had the time to sit down and play it. They started out on an 11-2 run but then I scored 10 in a row and was in the lead the rest of the game and ended up winning by 14. Seems like Kobe is going to get his no matter what. I basically packed the paint the entire game as their starting 5 has absolutely no spacing and other than West, Goodrich, and the occasionally Cooper or Fisher 3pt attempt their bench doesn't have much shooting. They're probably going to get yours bigs in trouble so I recommend using your 10-12 roster spots on big men. On offense I mostly ran horns and fist plays per usual with the occasional post up with Hakeem. Just like any other non domination game against the computer you're going to miss some open shots. I ended up shooting 56/39/76 on 86 shots and they shot 52/35/62 on 89 shots. The Line-up I used was

                        1. Saph Robertson
                        2. Gold Bird
                        3. Diamond KD
                        4. Gold LeBron
                        5. Saph Hakeem
                        B1. Gold Rondo
B2. Silver Bradley (can't remember if he's silver or gold)
                        B3. Saph PG13
                        B4. Gold Parish
                        B5. Saph Russel
                        Bench. Sullinger, 3-4 mins
                        Bench. Olynk(sp?), 3-4 mins
                        Bench. Gold Hondo, DNP

This challenge gets ridiculous in the last few minutes when Magic starts bombing contested 3s and every other play is an in-traffic alley oop to shaq.

CPU gets fouled if you breathe on them....User cant buy a foul.
As the picture shows above, I had no trouble drawing fouls while penetrating. It seemed like the CPU has their settings on "play physical," as they were really aggressive in contesting shots. Oscar Robertson got to the line 10 times for me just be driving off side pick and rolls.

Doesnt matter who your Center or PF is....you are gonna get killed on the boards.
Hakeem Olajuwon (10 rebounds) and Larry Bird (12 rebounds) did a good job on the boards for me. I had my points of emphasis set to "crash glass" on both ends of the floor.

They dont miss wide open shots but you will....3pt, midrange, under the basket.
The shooting sliders are definitely rigged in the CPU's favor, but you can still put up decent percentages if you shoot with the right players in the right spots. I went 6 of 8 from three with Detlef Schrempf (89 three point rating), just because I mostly shot from his red zones on the floor.

If anyone has beat this game while shooting below 70% let me know. thats the only way I see winning. you have to play a perfect game. I was up by 15 and the computer went on a 40-7 run and time outs dont stop the bleeding.
You don't have to be perfect, but you will need to be consistently good in your execution. 12 minute quarters means you can't slack off or go into "2K rage" mode and just start jacking up bad shots.

You're a much better player than me. I couldn't hit open threes with good shooters at all. Even the free throws were difficult for me when I usually hit a great percentage of them. I was something like 3/11 on open threes when I gave up and just didn't take any more. Then when I would drive I would get fouled with lots of no calls.
