Cannot apply badges to players. Badges get consumed but remain at bronze level for player. Help!

happened to me as well when trying to upgrade bronze to silver. However, I was able to add an entirely new badge to bronze level -

Yep, first badge I tried, Brick Wall badge from bronze to silver, didn't apply.
Will hold off on applying any more for now.Comment

Yeah I have tried a few and none seem to take. Will also hold off on adding more. Hopefully the ones we've added show up when they fix it.Comment

They are not recognizing the badge the first time if player already had a bonze.Comment

Welp. At least this year you're not upgrading every badge before finding out there's a problem. Can't believe they released the mode with broken badges.Comment

I got this response from 2K support:

I do apologize in hearing about your missing badge bonuses issue being encountered in NBA 2K16! I'm a big fan of the NBA 2K series myself so I can understand how this sort of issue can be frustrating to experience and I'd love to assist you with this issue as best as I can.
One of the easiest ways to fix this issue is to perform a cache clear of your console. To perform a cache clear, please follow these simple steps:
1. Press and hold the power button on the front of the console until the Xbox One completely powers down.
2. Disconnect the power cable from the Xbox One so the power brick isn't connected to the console.
3. Press the power button on the front of the Xbox One three or four times. This will drain any remaining power from the battery.
4. Reconnect the power cable to the console.
5. You'll have to let the light on the power brick go from white to orange before progressing further.
6. Turn on the console via the power button.
I thank you kindly for your patience with us in this matter and look forward to your reply!

"Thank you for your response, although the fix did not work.
I know because I followed the steps below and attempted to apply another badge. I lost the badge.
You seem to assume that the problem is with my system rather than the game. I started a thread on the operations sports website. Others are having the same problem. Plus, at the auction house, there are no players with badges applied, except for those with badges applied to 'free slots'?
Have you been able to apply badges to your myteam players? Have you tested the below fix? If not, how do you know it works? We get me to try another badge if there is a risk I would lose it?
Also, what about my compensation for lost badges, including the badge I lost when I tried your fix?"Comment

It seems if you want to get a badge to gold you would have to apply 3 badges instead of 2 if the card already has it. The upgrade sequence would follow: bronze--->bronze--->silver--->goldComment

This use to happen to me every once in a while in nba 2k15. Now in 16 it happens on every badge. They need to fix this quick.Comment
