Yeah, they're always artificially boosting players they think deserve a higher OVR. Since they can't make Curry play like he really does and he's far and away the best player on the planet, they boost him in other areas. That's why his athleticism is way overrated and his defense is a tad too high, too.Though their defensive stats as a whole need reworking. Someone like Curry is an average 1v1 defender but a great team defender, something that 2k seems to have the framework for but ratings like on-ball defense and help defense are usually pretty close.

Shooting ratings are solely based on the percentages players shoot from certain areas of the court. The difference between Harden and Blake is that Harden comes with Gold Deadeye, Shot Creator, and Microwave as well as great animations. So he will be able to hit much tougher shots than Blake despite his rating being technically a tad lower. He'll also get hot much more quickly, which boosts his ratings directly.

Deadeye is supposed to take care of contested shots. It was way overpowered last year, this year its effects are much less noticable. That's the problem with having badges on top of ratings, there are so many of them and it's impossible to balance them properly. They also almost never update badges, which is why they are much less accurate than even the ratings.

Haha yeah, LMA's 3pt rating to start the year is a joke, he's never been that great a 3pt shooter.

True regarding deadeye and shot creator on Harden, but in the end you can always apply deadeye/shot creator to BG as well, and you get left with a better mid-range shooter than Harden.

So they should either stop being able to apply additional badges (they already do that with mental badges), or add a contested shot rating (for me is better solution),

You can not base your attributes ONLY on real FG% as players take shots under VERY different conditions.

I fully agree. The badge system is not at all tuned for MyTeam and leads to a number of gameplay problems. Players are tuned for regular rosters with badges being locked at a certain level. Makes no sense that you can turn everybody into a decent defender by applying PLD badges, a knockdown shooter, etc.

prime example of DR cards being un-justifiably inflated. I have both versions and the current version is way better plus can shoot 3's, but its still a fraction of the cost.
