Spreaking of 6MOTY cards, Toni Kukoc is a beast at the 4 spot. He is too slow for the SF position for me and is not a very good defender but when you put him at the 4 you can hide him from the gold players everybody has on the 3 spot. Kukoc has such a sweet shooting stroke and a fast release and he is money. I played 2 games in the restricted seeds yesterday and he literally saved my ***. I brought him of the bench in the last Q and in both games he went ablaze and torched my opponents. One of the best silver cards as a stretch 4 if you can hide him on defense.

Re: Taking budget baller to another level
It's a tough decision because he only has room for 4 badges and 1 has to be scrapper.
I am debating between:
Post Lockdown Defender
Defensive Crasher
Eraser
Chase Down Artist
3pt Specialist
I think PLD is a must, but the other 2 spots out of those 4 badges I am not sure. Could also go with both PLD badges, then 1 of the other 4..Comment

Re: Taking budget baller to another level
It depends on your playing style with him. Also, he is so cheap you can have 2 copies of him and store one in your auctions.
Just a thought. Put both PLD's would get the most action because you would use those on virtually every possession. If you want him to score though...focus more on that. I'd prob do both PLDs and Microwave. Either way you feel cheated because he should have PLD and Eraser at very least.Comment

Re: Taking budget baller to another level
Thanks for all the advices. I'm definitely picking up Gerald Wallace.
Looking into Cliff Robinson and Caron Butler, and they look good. I'll give them a try if I find them for cheap.
I really liked Wesley Matthews last year, so, the same applies. If I find him for cheap, I'll pick him up.
What Badges should I add to AK?
Wesley Matthews is a great silver without a doubt..but the main reason I have been recommending him is because he has been really cheap for the past few weeks. I had even saw some for cheap and flipped him. I dont know if this has changed but you could get him for between 3-4k and that is a steal.
soooooo many good silvers though. I picked up Battier for cheap...but then replaced him with TBT Jared Dudley who I got for 1100mt. steal. the guy can defend and shoot.
another cheap guy I picked up is Raptors Oakley. a value bench guy or starter depending on your lineup.
Cons: he is incredibly slow, yes. his lateral quickness is bad too. those things are huge. plus he is not a good inside scorer and below average passer.
Pros: Excellent low post and help defender, nearly elite. 90 strength. 75 standing 3pter. 85 OConsistency (I put +9 OConsistency shoe on him to bring him to 94) has 8 good badges and has Defensive Anchor and Enforcer.
I like having him in my lineup but he needs to be playing beside someone fast who has good rebounding/shotblocking. He is a good compliment to guys like Larry Sanders or WCS.Comment

Re: Taking budget baller to another level
Hi guys,
Sorry, I didn't have much time to update you on how I'm doing.
The unrestricted seeds have been a jungle. First thing I realised was that what was working in the restricted seeds did not work at all in unrestricted seeds.
The unrestricted seeds are a pace competition first and a basketball competition second.
There are a few factors here, but the main ones are that the balance on speed, acceleration and reaction time is not quite right yet, the same can be said for transition and early offence defence(valid mainly for MyTeam).
With DPOY Noah I could not stop fast transition offence or react timely when the opponents were playing 4-1 and attacking the paint with the p&r.
So I sold every gold player but Klay and TBT AK...
Got Moments TP for the cheap (8k), got Butler to play SF and DPOY Ben Wallace.
After going 0-4, I'm now 4-4 in the unrestricted seeds.
I have 2000 MT left and have little to no way to upgrade my team now.
The game has basically stagnated for me. Why? This is the interesting part.
We have all debated about how difficult it is to get MT from playing the game, but there's another issue that hurts us almost as much as that. The lack of gold cards between 85 and 89OVR. Yes, there are hidden gems with lower overalls, but more often, those high OVR golds are the ones that allow us to play against the higher ranked cards. 2K has given preference to release Amethysts and Diamonds, completely forgetting golds.
I'll keep on going just to see where I can get, but the pace centric gameplay on RTTP is really hard to tackle without buying packs and generating MT to get better players.
Generating MT and releasing more versions (Moments, Team of the Week, etc) of cards in the higher range of the Gold tier needs to be a focus for next year. Diamonds are fun and all, but we're having more of those and less of content one can actually get from the Auction House.Comment

If you dont have Moncrief I would add him. he is generally about 3k. DPOY version is better but Historic has way better 3-ball so it would be worth it if you could pick it up for less than 3k. He is the best cheap high rated gold out there that has correct badges.
Lenny Wilkens, Bernard King, and Mark Aguirre are all near Amethyst level but missing badges. They are usually cheap, but they have gone up a little this weekend.
not sure what your lineup is like now but WCS will likely be your cheapest quick solution to helping in transition defense. Ibaka could help too with his defense and 3pt shooting.Comment

Lineup:
Moments TP, Klay, Butler, TBT AK, DPOY Ben Wallace
Bench: Rubio, Middleton, Gordon Hayward, Porzingis, Cousins.
The untouchables in my lineup are Rubio, Klay and TBT AK. Ben Wallace is getting there as well.Comment

Which badges did you end up putting on AK? I have ended up with scrapper, both PLD, and eraser on mine.Comment

Re: Taking budget baller to another level
I only have 3k and will be hard to get above that, but I don't mind trying out Moncrief. Will let you know how I do with him when I try him.

you can get Moncrief for 3k for sure. if you can get the DPOY thats the one because of his finishing/inside scoring/mid-range. if you have to get the other one....then should work out fine as well.Comment

Re: Taking budget baller to another level
here is a recommendation...since you said Boogie isnt untouchable.
you can get enough MT for him to buy Marc and Dwight. both who are better defenders and are stronger at a lot of things that Boogie isnt. Marc has low post scoring and Dwight has speed and strength. I feel both of those guys will help you more than Boogie and he cost about as much as them together. You can run either of them with KP.
I think if you sell Boogie, and along with the 3k mt you have you can get Marc, Dwight, and Moncrief. That could help you win some games for sure.Comment

Re: Taking budget baller to another level
also, another hidden gem is Dandridge. he costs about 1k more than Hayward reg value and is a great upgrade. better rebounder, athlete, defender and IMO a more explosive scorer. Dandridge is much better than Rudy Gay at everything except finishing....where Gay has a huge advantage.Comment
