I finally got a lineup I'm completely happy with right now.

Nah man, I fel into the VC trap a few times Lol I've probably spent like $60-$80 when I had a little extra cash but I'm an idiot. Going through domination really helped me though and completing the weekly challenges every week thus far. Baylor is ridiculous. I can't think of anything he can't do which is what you would expect from a pink diamond. Run an iso post play for him and it's almost automatic.

I feel you on the VC thing. I've spent a few hundred and it's yielded nothing but garbage for me. I've sniped my way to a strong squad, but that was a lot of hours of work.

I'm glad you like Baylor! I'm gonna get him next Friday since I missed a few weeks of challenges. I'm excited to try him out. I really like McGinnis too, but I have too many bigs so I took him out of the rotation. But he's pretty fun to play with. His post fade animations are nice and his shot is smooth.

This is going to be my final update for a while considering Im down to 50MT points lol. Very happy with this team though.

I interchange Bron and Kawhi based on Matchups but I really like Bron in the starting line up because he adds much needed athleticism with Francis.

Never thought Id see the day Id move Yao to the bench but Diamond Tim Duncan is insane and Yao will be even more cheese vs teams second best centers.

Any thoughts on line up switches I should think about. I play a traditional style, post ups, running plays for open looks, points in transition when they come etc.

Mikan, Pierce and Duncan are the only locks in my starting lu.

Was constantly getting killed on the glass so I opted to replace LBJ with Ruby Green again. Defensively I'm better but I'm still getting killed on the offensive glass and I'm sick of it. I think this budget squad has taken me as far as it can go, time to upgrade. Going to look to replace this Whiteside with the Amethyst Dwight Howard. Just put my Ruby LBJ on the auction block so hopefully I can get some MT for him.

My offense is so one and done as well. Pick and Roll, Quick 32 Rip 4, and fastbreaks *Yawn* . I need someone to throw it down low to.

On a side note, that Amethyst James Harden caught my eye...Might be time to replace that Ruby Curry.

I co-sign Amethyst Harden. My team is half Diamonds at this point and I still start Harden. He's an offensive machine. His price has totally tanked with the Adidas packs, so now is the time to get him!

As for a big man, I recommend Ruby Marc Gasol, either version. He's a really good shooter, post player and defender. The only issue is the obvious one...he's slow. But I would imagine his price has tanked as well now that Diamond Gasol is out. Might be a good, cheap buy!

There's plenty of guys who can shoot threes at high levels. 2K has clearly also neutered all the Stephs so far, at least in badges. The Diamond will be the first compelling one, to me. Maybe not even that one.

Amethyst Harden is a very strong MT bargain. And you have the defense to surround him.

If you're still getting outrebounded with Dray and Whiteside, I don't know what to tell you. Whatever the reason, I don't think it's your player cards, unless you're playing against god squads.

I hated Curry last year, but I've got a Sapphire with the Diamond shoe and contract and the Emerald Klay with the Diamond 3pt Anta shoe, so his Open 3 is 99, and they get the Duo boost so I use them on my challenge squad. Curry's release isn't as fast as last year, but you can splash it from anywhere. Just call for a pick, run your defender into it and then shoot on the run. Or if your defender is standing at the 3pt line, take two steps back and chuck. If you've got the Ruby or Ammy, it's even easier. Steph with Gold Limitless is like TMac with HOF Limitless.

Last year, nobody used Curry's release in Park. This year, a lot of the top Park players use his release as at least part of their release with the jumpshot creator. I know I do, and I can't stand Steph. His shot rarely gets blocked because he keeps his arms in close and the arc is so high.

Side note - Amazingly, high arc jumpers work in 2k the way they do in real life. They drop at a better rate, and the rebound physics work the same as they do in real life, for the most part. I was playing around with Artest's jumper today, and I realized that when he misses, the rebound tends to bounce high off the rim and go pretty far. It was to where I could shoot and then start jogging toward the rim and catch it rather deep midrange with regularity. It's a good habit to get into anyway.

He mentioned getting out rebounded on the offensive end. Draymond is not a good offensive rebounder, and he's probably running one of the 4 out 1 in freelances or 5 out. So Draymond wouldn't be anywhere near the right position to get those boards anyway. He's also short.

I run Ruby Dwight and Sapphire DeAndre Jordan a lot on my challenge squad, and they're both money on the offensive boards. My third string is Sapphire Gilmore (the best Sapphire center in the game overall), and he is as well. I imagine Ammy Dwight will be even better on the boards.

I hated Curry last year

I loved Curry last year and would literally get physically nervous when facing him, because a good operator was almost literally unguardable with him.

I'm pretty good with on-ball D, so simply zig-zag was not effective with me. At least when I played with discipline and remembered to never jump, merely stay in contest range. Played a number of Gauntlet games vs guys who would just run back and forth in a straight line, hoping for a mistake. Literally just that.

But guys who knew how to dribble juke, and also to work for the drive and teardrop layup...those guys were unstoppable with Curry. I got to the point where I was also pretty deadly with him, even though I don't, and am not good at, moving 3-pointers.

To me, the thing that made him truly effective was the quick release. The key was to ingrain his shot timing into muscle memory, not to look for a visual cue, as it was too fast for that, unless one has insane reflexes.

This year, without the quick release, he's not as interesting to me, offensively. And certainly not enough to overcome his defensive liabilities, which are dramatic: not tall, very weak, bad Lat Quickness, and bad Steal.

And I'm a huge GSW fan.

But I hope that his Diamond gets badged befitting a 2-time MVP, and get unrealistic buffs to his Strength, like last year. And that I can afford him.

On that note, Emerald Moments Austin Rivers is another fun budget card. 90 BC and good shooting...high-arcing shot. Also good Lat Quickness for an Emerald, though his Contest is so low that he makes much less impact, though he can stay in front of people.

Ah, duh. I thought he had good ratings on both ends, which doesn't really make any sense to think, in retrospect.

I pulled diamond Harden in the one Adidas pack I opened a few days ago, and was going to instantly sell him. When I saw he was going for only 35k, I decided to try him out, and now he's my 2nd leading scorer. His defense isn't as bad as anticipated, given that you can hide him on a non-explosive wing-player.

The way I see it, there are many opponents who don't know how to exploit him defensively, and against those opponents he's the best (affordable) offensive guard to play. Against someone who knows how to exploit his defense, I'll play him 4 minutes total. Against someone who doesn't, he'll get 13 minutes and likely put up 15+ points and 5+ assists.

Finally got Dwight. 4 games in with him so far and it seems my offensive rebounding problems have been solved. It's so much easier to win when your opponent doesn't get 10 more shots than you.

Anyone I'm probably gonna go after that ruby Durant next. I see that card has about 8 badges and is going for under 20K, seems like a no-brainer.

I also peeped a new Ruby Q-Rich going for like 2500 MT lol. Gonna pick that up too but I really don't see how the hell that card can get any better as far as catch and shoot goes. My Sapphire Q-Rich is probably my 2nd best shooter on my team right now and this Ruby one has Limitless Range and Deep Range Deadeye, jeez...I was thinking of getting the Amethyst Ray Allen but idk about that anymore lol.

Running this for today trying get some games in with KD before I get rid of him. Duncan plays the 5 on offense because I run the dribble drive freelance and I rather have Marc out on the perimeter. I switch their matchups on defense.
I really can't wait for diamond GP, he's been my fav PG this year. His ruby card still puts in work. Eddie Jones is dope, Fat is really impressive. He's a lockdown defender and has a money release. Hill and Ewing have infinite contracts so I just threw them in.
