I'm having great success with this squad update.
I decided to start the games off with more defensive consistency, so I added MRR and Rodman to the starting lineup. The impact was huge! Especially Rodman along with Shaq in a big-men oriented Flow Motion is insane!

What totally made my day was the fixing of Kiki. This boy is finally knocking down the shots for me...it feels like a day & night difference. I must admit his jumper is not as easy as others, but I found out to time it pretty well with square button...I regulary get green releases with him that way.

No need to tell lot about the bench, it's pretty stacked...Alonzo is very important with the Defensive Anchor just as Rodman and it's key to always have one of them on the floor. Bosh gives me some variety, he can be a great stretch 5 if I need extra shooting power.

Don't think I need any of the new upcoming theme cards except Ewing, but he'll be too expensive. Dropped enough for Shaq...

Surprised you start Rodman at the 4 with option you have. Does he grab alot of boards for you and does he get involved in the offense. I just find him to be a liability on offense not making up enough for it on the defensive end.

Coincidentally, I've been trying to figure out a good offensive style (Freelance and/or Playbook) to use with an athletic, defensive lineup that only has a couple shooters. Flow seemed promising to me so I'm glad to hear it's been great for you. Enough so that you're playing Rodman above guys like Diamond LJ and Diamond Bosh.

I'm trying to figure out how to piece together something with this selection of players:

Have held off on locking in my Hawks collections, otherwise could add Diamond Rewards LJ to the mix. Had also held off on locking in Bucks and Walton for Lanier or Walton, and now glad I did, since better version of both will be dropping tomorrow. Not to mention Hakeem and the others in the pack.

Surprising to me, I've been finding Harden not so bad on defense and so prodigious on offense, I've been liking him surrounded by my strongest defenders. Would really like to see if a lineup with Hayes or Rodman + Wallace in the frontcourt is workable, despite how that kills spacing.

Rodman is superb to get into the game in my opinion. Usually every opponents puts out his top 5 players in the begin and I feel like I wanna answer it with defense... have the early minutes to read the opponents mindset before focusing on my offense. Amethyst Defensive Stopper and Hustle Rebounder is huge. Several other OS members who got PD Duncan early stated that Rodman is/was gamechanging and I believe it aswell. So ye basically my gameplay in the begin is reading the other, have awesome defensive players and let Shaq post up and finish or dish it out to Kiki.

Need to give a shout-out to SamPham...he basically introduced the Flow Motion to me throughout his videos (I had no idea what I was missing) and I feel like it's really effective and fun to play. It's fresh to have something new to figure and gives the game more depth.

I think, especially if your opponent is playing a stretchy sort of 4 who would mostly score by jumpshot, then Rodman's defense can have a big impact with that badge. Especially because a lot of the Freelances will stick the PF in a corner during a P&R. Rodman can totally Smother/Deny guys like Horry or Frye and take away a critical outlet shooter.

Yeah, I need to get more familiar with it. With how good post offense is this year, coupled with how outrageous Wallace can be as a defensive force, I really want to figure out a Freelance or set of Freelances for a lineup with 2 non-shooter bigs.

Probably because in recent years, the game has been so heavily geared toward high middle P&R with corner-shooting Stretch 4's, it's fun to play in a more old-school way.

So in your scheme, wouldn't Wallace be a better stopper than Rodman? Do you find Rodman's shooting justify his spot over Wallace?

I don't think you're asking me, but there's no question that Wallace is a better defensive stopper, in all ways. With regard to defense only, Rodman has zero advantages over Wallace:

Wallace is taller, stronger, better vertical, faster, more explosive, would have elite Lat Quickness as a guard, massive difference in Block, better Shot Contest, better Def IQ across the board, and also has Amethyst Defensive Stopper and Defensive Anchor.

What I think is now kind of interesting to think about is how to split up Defensive Anchors across one's full lineup so that both starting and bench squads will always have two Defensive Anchors on the floor at the same time, so that all five players will get the buff.

The Big Men pack gives us four more Centers with Defensive Anchor: Wilt, Lanier, Hakeem, and Dikembe.

I dont got Wallace, but I would probably favour him if you want to put him next to a C. He is way more athletic than Rodman and could be better for finishing cuts. He also comes with the same important Amy Badges right?

If you're playing a lot of MTO and want it now, I think it's reasonable to play him without extra badging or to use cheaper badges, which also simplifies decisions. He at least comes with Bronze D Stopper, right?

Early on, I badged up a bunch of Emeralds, but only with cheaper badges.

I actually picked one up with gold d stopper and bronze catch&shoot for pretty cheap. Going into my 2nd unit.

Nice score. I think he's worth the 2 Catch and Shoot upgrades. And then unless you want to add Limitless or Deadeyes, I think rest of options are economical.

Had to complete the deep shooters collection. Glen rice is probally the best shooter with 3 HOF shooting badges.

Should be good to pair these shooters with Mikan and McHale off the bench.

This may be a dumb question, but how can I tell what mental badges players have before buying them? They don't display on the player's cards, and 2kmtcentral doesn't seem to have them listed either.

What am I doing wrong?
