Man I am having so much fun with this squad. No reason to even play Vince, Pippen, and David Robinson. Bill Walton has to be the best center in the game. There are so many good players to use that I have a hard time sticking to one lineup. I switch it up completely a lot!

Wow you locked in CL?? Does that mean you are going for Barkley? Nice squad.

Yeah I am going to go for him. Wasn't originally but had some really good pack pulls to make it possible. Pulled two Carmelo's in back to back 10 pack boxes and stuff like that made it possible.


I really like that Laettner though. Didn't think he would be as athletic and versatile as he is. I have Porzingod off the team because of him. He plays much stronger than Porzingod and his jumper is reliable.

Wowo I always find Porzingod is a very tough person to cover. I haven't faced a Laettner yet but it is scary if he is a stronger offensive player. That's cool you are going for Barkley. At first I thought no way I definitely won't. Then I got the first few rewards, Ewing, Magic, D Rob, Pipp. But I didn't go for Clyde, Mullen, or Laettner. So I am missing a few. Now I am saving all my MT for a prime Payton, KG, Iverson, and Malone. I may end up locking in the Malone + MJ + Stockton sets if possible.. But I think I will ultimately be missing out on the Clyde, Mullin, Laettner, and Bird and forget chasing Barkley. KG + Malone are my 2 favourites PF anyways so I would have a tough time finding a spot for Sir Charles in my starting and bench units.

How do you find the Tmac and Melo compare in terms of pure offensive weapons? I'm not sure but it is possible they are competing for the top 2 iso scorers in the game right now.

I like that everyone on my starting 5 can post up. If I'm lazy I an just isolate the weakest player on the opposing team and back his *** down... I think I had a game where I shot 80% off just post fades/up and unders, pretty cheesy.

Yeah it might be too expensive for me too but we will see. I would love to play with all those players but you have to draw the line somewhere. I think I have to get the KG if he is reasonable. He is my favorite after being a MN fan since the franchise started.


Tmac's HOF badges just make him almost unguardable as he can just back up and drill it. With his size he can back down and post fade a smaller matchup. I really like playing TMac at PG too as he can shut down Magic and Westbrook. However you can get a shooter like him much cheaper with the Jimmer card.


If you made me choose one or the other I would pick Melo all day. He has the same shooting, speed, better rebounding, quicker handles (like derrick rose fast), and the best release in the game. It is so fast and with no extra motions you can green it all the time. The speed makes him very versatile. I can play him from sg through pf without a noticeable hole in my offense or defense. Melo plays over Diamond Durant and all others for me.


Is Melo worth 600K? I don't think any card is worth that since they are all getting so good. Just look at this Paul Pierce! 2-300k seems reasonable for probably the best offensive card in the game. He is so fast he gets to a ton of rebounds and help defense is good too because of the speed I think.

But neither of those guys have high-level cards and this Carmelo, with that quick trigger, elite ratings (including 97 Off-Dribble 3 and HoF Difficult Shots), with his handles and explosiveness...I find the prospect of him on the perimeter a lot more scary than Curry, Jimmer, Glen Rice, and even T-Mac, because of how quickly Carmelo can get his shot off.

The other guys, I feel like I can general stay in contest range if I don't jump. But while I haven't faced this Carmelo, he just makes me think back on last year's Curry, whom you had to defend perfectly, because any slight mistake gave him the narrow window necessary to get a clean shot off.

I played against Melo twice today and he was terrifying. I was concentrating so hard to stay in front of him. Some of the time I succeeded and held him off. A few times though he would just blow past my defenders and get to the free throw line at will. Also if you make the tiniest mistake and move the wrong direction he blows open and knocks a moving mid. One time he made my Pippen completely lost with his handles, danced by him and made me look dumb.

Of all the players I have gone against so far I think Melo in the hands of a skilled player is probably the most dangerous. The speed/athleticism on him and those animations its just deadly.

Interesting. I had the Playmakers Stockton briefly. Only played a few games. I liked him. But his shot did not seem particularly fast to me. Definitely not slow. Maybe on the quicker side, but not remarkably quick...in my memory, at least.

Now I'm feeling really annoyed that Melo is way beyond my means probably for entire game cycle.

My team has changed a bunch over the past few days. Sold my Klay Thompson for 30k after bombing his release for a few games and realizing Amy Allan Houston is a better shooter for me.

So I bought an Amy James Harden and an Amy LeBron and I pulled Diamond Pierce minutes ago. I could play this Pierce at SF-PF-SG with ease due to his speed, defense, lat quickness etc.

I play with Stockton some and he is on the quicker side but not nearly as fast as Carmelo. Melo's is the fastest I've ever used. Hoping not too many get pulled as it will be a nightmare trying to play against an army of park players with Melo.


Just decided to put Laettner at Center against an offballer who just used his Center for the 2nd half only. I scored 41 in just the 2nd half. Forced a few 3's trying to go crazy with him. He is way more consistent than Porzingas. Just not as fast as Porzingas but he is plenty fast enough. Notice he also had 4 steals in the 2nd half. He has great hands and reaction to the ball in the air.

My goal this year was to build a great lineup without spending VC and this is the culmination. After 30+ games with this lineup, I'm satisfied with every position and I would be content if this was my final lineup.

I put some key diamond shoes on certain players to shore up their weaknesses including speed shoes on magic and mcgrady, ball control shoes on west, acceleration on porzingis, and speedwball on pierce.

I love this front court because everybody can shoot, defend, and run the floor. These players all fit my playstyle and they never feel outmatched online. I'm still aiming for a diamond Hakeem but I don't think he'll have more impact than Davis.

And my back court is pretty set even though Harden can be exploited and West can be out-muscled and out-sized. I have to give credit to Giannis who can be subbed in to cancel any mismatch and provides injury protection for every position. He's probably the most versatile player in the game right now.

God squads are fun.

C: Diamond Wallace/Ruby Drummond

I have another PP that i am planning to sell once his price goes up a bit more, im looking at a couple of options to improve my team,
1) Upgrade Ruby Giannis to Amethyst
2) Shift Pierce to the 4 and get Amethyst Battier to run at the 3
3) Try to get an Elite Diamond Center (probably Walton or Howard)
4) Strengthen the bench
I only have about 2,000 MT so i will be hoping PP's price gets up into the 70,000's before selling, what do you think i should do to improve my lineup?

I bought the Pierce (I wanted Diamond Melo, but the Pierce is very similar and I love his Emerald) and pulled the Giannis today. My word, that Giannis is amazing. Still learning to use the Pierce - his stepbacks, sidesteps, moving jumpers and jab steps are a lot of fun to use - but I love him. I started a second account and have started playing through the challenges and Domination, and my starting PG on that one is Sapphire Micheal Ray Richardson. I've enjoyed using him so much that I had to start using the Ammy again on my main squad. Sometimes I use the Antoine Walker, sometimes I use that new Ruby Derrick Williams. That's another sick card. I run him at the 4 and it's pick and fades all day.

My best lineup is all Diamonds and Pinks, but I've been having more fun with this one than I ever really did with that other one. I wish 2k would add a league mode where you could make use of your Sapphires and Rubies somehow.
