    [quote=GrimaceZ7;2048781563]

I finished that Rolando Blackman set today, and I have to say that it knocked Harden from the top spot as the absolute worst Diamond I've used. quote]

You are being a little harsh on Rolando I think. I have had surprising success with him. Maybe it is just the offense sets I'm running but he has done very well. I don't have any reason to play him but I just gave him some run since he was new. His release is really smooth and easy to nail for me and I am not one to ever practice shooting!

I hated Manu after I got him and went back and gave him a try and now have been having really good results with him too. Strange because I was awful with him. Still haven't really figured out how to use Gilmore yet but I try once in a while.

Lately I have really enjoyed playing a little with the diamond Kareem. He just seems to pair well with David Robinson at the 4 and Wes Unseld or Larry Johnson at the 3, USA Drexler at 2, and Diamond Magic. Been really liking bucking the 3 point cheeser trend and just scoring 2 after 2 by dunking on these weak lineups of Porzingas, Gasol, Durant, Harden, etc. Have lost some games by double digits if things go wrong early but win my fair share. Just searching for ways to have fun without playing a turbo 3 point contest every game.

I still haven't locked for Manu but still think I probably will. As I've said a bunch of times now, even his Emerald Handles is quite productive on offense, because he has very quick dribbling and is super-responsive. I think he's best if you run things through him. Try to penetrate off P&R, or if they start to go under, work for the off-dribble three. Run him as your PG, even if he's not literally slotted in at PG.

The problem with him is his defense. Too many god squads with nobody to hide a meh defending guard on, particularly after release of Pierce and PG24. Strong scorers from 1-3, and often all three can post up at a high level.

I have found LJ to be unplayable for quite a long time now. There's just too many athletic wings who can play as Stretch 4's who can exploit LJ's lack of mobility, on defense, and who cannot be easily abused by LJ's post game. I.e. Pierce.

Depending on matchup, he can be problematic at 4 and even worse at 3, usually. Definitely prefer Unseld, who is faster and more explosive and better in almost all respects.

Re: Lineup Roll call...what your squads looking like?!!?!

I don't run into too many users who post up PG or SG. Most seem to try to abuse dribble spam and I can stay in front of them with Manu without too much problem. If you liked other versions you should give him a try. I actually think you would like him as he really does well as a point type of guard from either 1 or 2 spots. I just enjoy playing with different guys and not always the best one.

I really haven't noticed any issues with speed with my Larry but I put one of my diamond speed shoes on him and diamond contracts early on. He really can motor now and I got pretty good with his post game. That is why I prefer him at SF because he isn't always up against more height. Silly now that I thought of him as an end game card so that is why I put the diamond stuff on him.

Wes is definitely a souped up version with all the HOF badges! Pretty crazy to get a card like Wes. They showed so much restraint on the collection rewards with very few badges and then they go crazy now. I tend to believe in badges so it hurts every time when I play a card with 9 badges over another with 22 badges not even on my squad. I just tell myself that I probably didn't lose because I had fewer badges than the other guy.

Re: Lineup Roll call...what your squads looking like?!!?!

Walt Frazier is the best PG I've used, and that's not close. I've been running this starting five pretty heavily the last week or so, and it really just works incredibly well together. West at SG is unorthodox, but it makes it to where my opponent can't run their offense through their SG, because West is going to strip them. Both Frazier and West (and MRR, the best stealing PG in the game by a mile) are OP at steals. And Worthy is an absolute monster. I know I keep saying it, but it still cannot be overstated.

I'm two cards away from Diamond Hardaway and two from Diamond Dantley, but I've turned my attention toward PD Kobe. I'm about 410 cards away, so that's gonna take some time. But I'm happy with my lineup as it is, so I'd rather get even more comfortable with these guys.

I could see that happening for me, but his defense isn't great, so I would have to try to force offense through him. At the 2, I have Goodrich, Richmond, Moncrief, Ginobili, Ammy Kobe and honestly I'd probably rather use Ruby Majerle ahead of him because I'm so comfortable with Majerle.

I hated Ginobili too, until I just threw him out there in an MTO game one time and realized his shot is perfect for the online game. I don't know why. He was just automatic. This was before the shooting patches the last several days, so your mileage may vary.

Gilmore is just so easy to use. His hook is OP, and other than that you just dunk on everyone off of picks and let him play his stellar defense, block shots and get boards.

I love Worthy for the same reason. Cheesers don't know how to stop him. I've got my eye on that Kareem. I hear his post game is insane. It's going to be awhile before I have the free MT to get him though. I have eight Diamond centers right now, and by the time I have MT freed up to get him, I'll have PD Wilt added to that list.

I'm lind of bored with the game so just locked for Manu and he's fun. Not really a rational lock at this point, I have to admit, but...whatever, he's unique and helps keep Sabonis more relevant too.

Just played a couple games vs CPU on All Star so not much of a test. But he's as responsive as I'd hoped. Has a nice ability to cancel out of moves and burst into a run. Gets some dumb layups converted and draws fouls and, for me, his shot works.

Just a shame about the crap number of badges.

I'm surprised it took you this long. It's all about who is the most fun to use.

Think about it - it doesn't matter who or what they release at this point. They'll come out with someone next week who does everything that the previous card did and then some, and it'll be a theme card, so it'll be dirt cheap. So, for that reason, I don't ever worry about something coming out that I want that I won't have the MT for. I locked the Earl Monroe this week because it's a fun card to use. Once I get good with it, I'll find a place for him on my main squad. You'll get a lot more enjoyment out of that Manu than you would someone else with "better" atts that you don't really care about.

Yes and no. I agree with you in general. The main issue for me is that there are a few cards I'd like to try and get that are/will be extremely expensive, and for which the value of the Historic Spurs collection might be a meaningful fraction.

Diamond Giannis, maybe this 2nd Diamond AD. Whatever "prime" Draymond there is. And others.

I don't have a ton of MT, relative to PC AH, and I've lost the will to try and make more MT.

                    Kevin freaking Durant

Haha seriously man? This card is unstoppable and it's not even the 2nd best version.

Now the only Sapphire I have left in my lineup is Westbrook. I'm skipping his Ruby version and going straight for the Amethyst one.

I've been waiting for Amethyst Durant to drop to truly bargain sort of price. On PC, Amethyst AD just recently dropped below 20K. I won an auction for a sensibly badged one for 10K, luckily.

Looking at your mix of cards shows how messed up calculation of Team OVR is. Mostly Ruby with one Amethyst, a couple Sapphire, and an Emerald and you're already up at 97 OVR. So I imagine you have to face all-Diamond god squads, which should not be the case.

Yeah, I'd say around 80% of my matches are against Amthyst/Diamonds/PD squads.

I think 2K uses the same formula to calculate overall team ratings in MTO that they use in the regular rosters. In the regular rosters this would be a 97 overall team but in the context of MyTeam it's not. They really need to fix that.

Re: Lineup Roll call...what your squads looking like?!!?!

On PC West Coast, I literally only ever match up with one of 3 or 4 other players. We all have "god squads" to varying degrees. I think I probably have the least valuable. Last night, ran into the guy who probably has the "best" one: all Diamond Westbrook, MJ, T-Mac, Robinson, Carmelo, Porzingis, Mullin...just stacked 1-13 with the most expensive cards in the game.

Mine isn't modest. Last night I started: Wade, Pierce, Artest, Unseld, Robinson, and bench is GP, Manu, PG24, AM Bird, Sabonis, Gasol, Penny, and Baylor. Didn't do full squad subs, mixing things up a fair amount.

EDIT: Actually, I think I played a cheesy big lineup to start with. Wade, Pierce, Unseld, Robinson, Gasol. Now that I think about it, I had a few easy scores posting up Unseld on his PG24.

This opponent play pretty cheesily. He's good at deflecting/stealing inbounds passes and plays Full Court Trap by default, all game long if he can. I find it tough to do sideline inbounds against him. And on offense, while it's not the only thing he does, his first line of attack is turbo attack of the basket with someone like Westbrook, as well as constantly at least trying to fast break cheese.

As is always the case slower and steadier does a lot to enhance one's total performance. The last time I played him, I started raging and rushing things, which plays into his playing style. This time, I tried to be a lot more methodical, and...

Was able to very consistently beat his Full Court Trapping by either passing way up to one of my frontcourt players. Or passing to a backcourt guy and then pass to whomever was streaking ahead of his defender. Was exploiting the full court pressure consistently enough that he switched to straight Man in the 2nd half.

Was able to contain him on D pretty consistently. I think he shot around 45% FG% and had a bad 3P% on moderate volume. (I.e. something like 3-11.) I actually did better playing his P&R straight. Started off trying Switch All and his guys are so fast, and he is skilled enough, that he could exploit the brief moments of confusion that can frequently result from a Switch.

Had a ~5 point lead on him for most of the game, pushed it to 10 with a couple minutes to go, and then to around 15 when he started bombing threes and intentionally fouling.

Matches are hard to get, so I appreciate any PvP match I can get. It's satisfying to beat god-god squads, especially when the player is cheesy. But it's also an exercise in moderated frustration and, ultimately, not really fun.

I'll move to a console for next year, and hope that matchmaking is improved and one can play a mixed team of lower OVR players and usually get matched up with like squads.

Reason why this is is so that's it's easy to match up players with the same 'overall'. If not you'd be spending more time looking for matches. It's a double edged sword I guess. In 2K16 the only way to have a 99 overall team was if you literally had 99s in every single position down to the 12th man.

Here we go Amethyst Westbrook added to the squad. No more Sapphires in my lineup.

                              Curry/Westbrook
                              Klay/QRich

                              Dwight/AD

Funny thing is, I don't think it even matters at this point. Ruby KD has just completely taken over my bench. I don't think I've ever played with a card that was so easy to score with. That card is unstoppable.

I also just hit a little milestone. I'm finally 200 games over .500 with a 252-52 record. Almost have my hands on PD Tim Duncan. Currently in the 3rd prestige Ruby League so we're almost there.

How often are you getting matched up with all Diamond lineups? I'm finding the matchups better and my team's performance a lot better when I use Sapphire-Ruby-Ammy lineups than my best squad. And that's sad, really.
