I hear you on Magic just not being fun to play. I haven't played him in ages, and recently put him up on the AH. If I can get a good return, I should just sell him. I don't want to keep him on a lineup, even as a Magic/Oscar-counter. I'd rather just get worked in the post.

As for the general dissatisfaction, I hear what you're saying, but I still enjoy the game. I'm not into how game dynamics are exploitable, but I do think that really conscientious play can blunt those exploits and it's still fun for me, regardless.

To me, it's not really about playing 2K or not, so much as it is: play MyTeam, or play in fantasy construction MyLeague, offline, vs. CPU.

It depends on your play style, but there are a lot of good PGs out there for a good price. I think that's the most important position in MTO, and defense is the first priority. With that in mind, I think Rondo is definitely worth a look, as is Diamond Jason Kidd. Amethyst Magic Johnson and Amethyst John Wall are great too and won't cost as much. If I were you I'd move DeBusschere to SF, either move Ariza to SG and Hardaway to the bench or put Ariza on the bench...then upgrade at PF. Size is king in this game and having a 6'6 PF can cause you some problems. Amethyst Karl-Anthony Towns is a beast for his price and can play PF or C. Good luck!

Okay this Kareem card is arguably the best card in the game and only 150k on Xbox right now. What the heck.

I picked him up last night, and boy he has not disappointed. He's just flat-out perfect: great shot release, awesome post game, is huge, perfect badging, quick defender and really fast. This dude is worth 300k+ in my opinion.

I played two quick games with him this morning, and here were his box scores.

Notice how I don't even play him that many minutes in both games. He also had this beautiful dunk.

So I pulled Shaq last night and I've been waiting for this card for like ever. That being said, I had a butt load of MT piled up for him and after my auctions finish tonight I should be sitting around 1.2mil

I obviously am super hard for that Magic and I will most likely impulse buy this sometime soon. Hoping that price grounds sooner than later. I am however struggling with finding the proper 4 to put next to Shaq daddy, as I have had Cs that shoot with Kemp/Giannis at my 4. Don't have PD Bob or Love. Do I need to grab that Larry?! Looks so nice at the 4, just a tad concerned about his jumper. Anyways, here is how my lineup stands:

Penny/______/PP/______/Shaq
______/Tmac/Pippen/Kemp/DRob
Dikembe/Vince

Wanted that Kobe but 2k had to shart on my dreams with this less-attributes-than rockets Tmac, #24 in 2001 wearing pile of mamba puke. Don't really wanna start Vince because I just can't captain that ship of a baller to success.

Keeping all of the above in mind (not much, right?), with 1.2mil what moves should I make here boiz?

KG is the answer to all PF problems. He can dominate inside and outside on both ends of the floor. I highly suggest throwing a speed w/ball shoe on him to get him to 90 or 93 speed w/ball. There's nothing like pulling down a rebound with him, going coast to coast and yamming on a defender. He runs like a gazelle and even has a good crossover in the open floor to blow by dudes.

Plus his post fade animations are fantastic, he's got HOF Post Spin Technician, his dunks are quick and not flashy so they almost never get blocked, and he gobbles up rebounds with his crazy vertical and HOF Hustle Rebounder. He and Oscar are almost always my leading scorers. He gets so many easy buckets with his athleticism and putbacks. I know his price has gone back up, but he's worth every bit of MT. I'm trying to figure out how to afford Magic myself, and selling KG is my fastest path but I just can't do it. He's that good.

EDIT: KG's jumper is on the slow side, but it's money for me. I'm hitting over 50% of my 3s with him so far. For whatever reason, that high arcing jumper seems to fall even when I don't green it. He can absolutely space the floor for you in addition to all the other things he does.

I would suggest KG also. I start Hakeem but run Shaq/KG together during the course of games and actually like it better than Shaq/Hakeem.


Like Nick said, KG can do it all and that 88 speed w/ ball is no joke. He can grab a rebound and start the break & with Shaq's 87 speed /85 accl he won't be to far behind him.

I don't think KG will be the best fit to par with Shaq. Eventually he's going to pick up Magic, so 3 out of the 4 guys around Shaq will have slow releases (Magic, PP & KG). A potential lineup of Magic, ?, PP, KG & Shaq would be vulnerable to zones. He should look for someone that can stretch that floor with a smooth release. Guys like Webber, KAT, KP or Jokic would be a better fit.

Webber has a fairly quick release, though for some reason (probably me), I've had problems nailing open shots with him.

For what it's worth, I'm money with Kareem. And while his release isn't quick, it isn't slow. And, to me, it's *smooth*. In ~5 games versus the CPU, on All-Star, I'm shooting .500 with him.

Thank you all for your responses, I really appreciate it. I do agree with this. As much as I wanna run KG/Shaq I just know it wouldn't gel as well. I ran Kemp/Shaq and it seemed clunky for the spacing reason.

Someone to stretch the floor is essentia. 3&D PF. Those names mentioned would all work well. No input on that Bird huh? It seems like that's the golden option. But his release tho!

Me personally, I went out and picked up Diamond Rondo to Duo with Pierce. Picked him up on Monday for 41K. Just a suggestion. Depends on your play style.
