Re: NBA 2K15 Fictional Draft Classes by CWSapp757/Dreece/Blindside for XBOX One

    Marcus Crier
    Position: Point Guard
    Height: 6’2
    Weight: 205
    Class: Junior
    Mock Draft Ranking: 6th
    Mock Draft Position Ranking: 2nd

Marcus Crier is a nice guy but if you asked him if he's supposed to be where he is he wouldn't hesitate to tell you yes. From the moment he stepped on campus Crier, alongside his eventual good friend and roommate Zach Shene, made up one half of the most dangerous Guard/Forward combos in the country. As the two piled up wins together for the last three years, Crier proved to be one of the most consistent point guards in the country.

This past year there was much talk of whether or not Marcus Crier would return for his senior season. However, with a stacked UCLA team led by the veteran point guard UCLA was able to capture the first title in many years. After winning the title, the accomplished player felt that there was not much left to accomplish at UCLA. When asked about Crier, Zach Shene had this to say:

"Of course there are younger players at the position entering the draft. They may be better athletes, better shooters or whatever but when it comes down to it, I don't think there is anyone in the draft that plays the point guard position better than Crier".

While fellow point guard Rashard Wallace may have a higher ceiling, Crier in my opinion is the better player at the moment.

Sounds like a good fit to replace Brandon Knight in Milwaukee...if I decide to do a franchise with them that is

I created an account for the sole purpose of supporting this thread. Aye, i'm a senior in HS, outstanding writing skills, no basketball due to ineligibility(hurt asf) so I have ample time on my hands whenever I'm not working out. Let me know if I can write something up for you guys, willing to help!

Re: NBA 2K15 Fictional Draft Classes by CWSapp757/Dreece/Blindside for XBOX One

With another exciting year of college basketball behind us and the 2015 draft fast approaching. That can only mean one thing. SimWorld get busy travelling the country and someone's further to bring you the latest in information straight from the prospects. No tabloid bs with us.

My first appointment for the year, big man Andre Thornton.

BlindSide: so Andre you have just completed your Junior year. How do you feel your game is progressing?

Thornton: Yeah man, I think my game's progressing really well. I've been working on post defense and conditioning mostly since the season ended, and I feel like if I improve in those areas even more I think I can be a really good all around big man by my rookie year.

BlindSide: I definitely think that could help you in terms of the fact you are coming out in a year that is headlined by Dre Redd. Does that change your approach to playing/training in anyway?

Thornton: Not really, honestly. I just focus on my own game and not really who the "headline" player is.

BlindSide: that's a great answer and something I'm sure many gms will appreciate. So where did basketball start for you?

Thornton: Just like most kids, I've pretty much always wanted to be a professional athlete, and I was always the tallest kid in class, so basketball just made sense. Since then I've just been practicing hard and, even though I wasn't high recruited out of high school, I got some offers and worked until now, where I'm looking to get drafted.

BlindSide: I can absolutely respect that. Well as far as the draft goes. We at Sim World have you ranked as an automatic lottery pick. The third best post scorer and second in your posistion. For a guy who essentially snuck onto the nba radar you have a lot of things going your way. So have you made your choice on whether you'll be declaring or not

Thornton: Well, I'm leaving man, I just had to. I would've loved to bring back more than just a conference championship to Arkansas St, but with the opportunity I've got now to get now, I feel like this is the best decision for me, and I think it'll pay off.

BlindSide: I personally believe that is the best decision for you. So if we look ahead to the nba. Where would you like to play your pro ball?

Thornton: I'd obviously love to play anywhere, but I think anywhere where I get to start early is ideal for me.

BlindSide: So a rebuild wouldn't be something you're opposed to? Cause I know some guys can really get drained walking into a crappy situation?

Thornton: Not at all, as long as the future is bright I'm not mad about the current situation.

BlindSide: Well that about wraps things up from my end. Anything else you'd like to add before we end this?

Thornton: Not really man, thanks for doing this

BlindSide: No doubt. We appreciate you taking the time.

Some players are born with a natural ability while others take a burning passion for the game and mold that into skills through hours upon hours of practice. There's a third kind of player though one who greys the line between the two previously mentioned. For those who follow the league the name Darrell Smart should mean something to them. Possibly not for all the right reasons either. For those who don't recognise the name allow me to enlighten you. The 6'1" PG is currently playing his Junior year at Stanford. Now that might not seem particularly enlightening but wait. He is also the son of the Leagues commissioner. Enlightened now huh? Well some say that his name was what has bought him into the starting line up for the past three seasons. Others say it comes down to the natural skill he possess. Me? I don't have an opinion but I managed to sit down with him to ask what he thought of the the speculation.

Smart: Before we even begin let me just say I chose to adress this. Nobody made me.

BlindSide: Ok then, im glad to clear that up. Well I guess we should get right to the point...

Smart: (interrupts) yeah we should and to anyone who thinks my place on this team was bought y'all need to do some homework. I played my way in.

BlindSide: Well if you'd had let me finish I could've made an argument for you.

Smart: Man I don't need you or anybody else to make an argument for me. I've done this all on my own so far. And that's how I'll keep it doing it. My father has nothing to do with my playing career.

BlindSide: Okay okay, you've made your point. How about the fact that it was definitely your fathers name that secured you a place in Stanford?

Smart: Really? You wanna take that angle? I thought you weren't taking sides?

BlindSide: Oh I'm not. It's merely a question which I might point out you avoided.

Smart: Avoided? Hell no. I just didn't answer you yet.

BlindSide: Well would you like to answer? Or should I wait?

Smart: There was a waiting list. So what he got me in? I'm here and that's what matters.

BlindSide: Wow. So grades aren't important? Let's say you have the same score on an entry test as somebody else but you get priority because of your father? You think that's not going to happen again come draft day?

Smart: Do I look like a GM to you? If that's going to affect their decision then they probably shouldn't be running a basketball team.

                    BlindSide: Interesting..

Smart: (interrupts) What is? Man you ain't very good at this.

BlindSide: Right. I've been doing this a long time. Usually I get to ask a question before I get an answer.

Smart: So ask your questions man, damn.

BlindSide: So you're in your junior year. How do you feel the season is going?

Smart: Great I don't think an interview question is gonna show anybody any different to watching a game though.

BlindSide: Matter of fact that's all I have for you.

Smart: You're a jackass. Don't even bother printing this.

BlindSide: Good luck for the year and definitely to your future GM (walks away)

Smart: Yo! Come back here. The hell does that mean? You can't walk away from me!

Hahahah "feel dirty" precisely the toss up I was hoping for with this story. Plenty more coming.

You wanna talk about a guy who was head and shoulders above the competition he faced? Andre Thornton is that guy. An overlooked high school player, Thornton plays with a lot of intensity, but isn't a real hard-nosed type of low post defender. What he does really well is score. And at Arkansas St, he did just that to the tune of one of the best scoring averages in the nation last season. While his teams never had post season success outside of some Sun Belt championships, he's proven himself against top competition. Another thing that makes Andre such an intriguing prospect is his overall consistency and improvement over 4 years. He not only found early success in college, but he improved his scoring and rebounding averages each season. This overall success should lead to his jersey hanging up in the rafters, as he finished as the school's all time leader in Points, Blocks, and Rebounds. In terms of what to expect from him early on, he should be able to start on a team without stability at center, but I would expect maybe a year or so before he really makes his impact. He's definitely ready as a scorer, but he may need to get stronger and will have to become a smarter defender to reach his full potential. If he does this, then you've got an All-Star caliber guy on your team.

On a totally unrelated note, me and Blindside just finished the first episode of another podcast series that we have started. It isn't related to draft classes but it's pretty funny if you ask me. If you get bored, take a listen.

Not sure if you guys do this or not, but you should also post rules for the leagues to bring the most sim atmosphere possible. For example on madden when i play i can only have 1 in season trade and two off season trades. Also ive noticed that if you dont resign your free agents you can splurge in the offseason keep all the talent. Also if you guys created rules for hirings of scout/head coach/assistant gm and hc / and etc. that would be sweet. Or we could all chime in on ideas that could help you guys create it. And base it on record, like if im the timberwolves and the spurs fire popovich i shouldnt be able to hire him if i only won 20 games that year because its unrealistic. But with a team with only 20 wins i could hire the an A assistant head coach because he believes he could move up and become a headcoach for this team. The scout makes a difference and A scouts gives you alot more scouting reports. What are possible league rules we could implement for that? I think with these we could even not scout anyone within the game and simply rely on the reports you give us and we can bring them in for private workouts to find injuries and we can see their numbers for nba 3's and stuff like that, that gives us an idea of where to go. This has me excited beyond belief and i just want to utilize every aspect of this to make it incredibly FUN! Thoughts?
