Our 2k family coming together to make it happen... *tear falls from eye*
But seriously, we really do appreciate what you guys are willing to do to make this more realistic. Like I said before, so many of you have been following these draft classes when they were first started four years ago. This time around, we want it to be so intriguing and interesting that you can follow this even if you DON'T have an XBOX One.
We want to vividly paint a picture for you guys and then let the actual classes themselves be the icing on the cake.
With that being said, I will be giving you guys more information on the three different versions of each class, how the players will now be graded in the scouting report and mock drafts a little later today. You can expect to start seeing stories later this week or early next week.SimWorld NBA 2K19 Fictional Draft Classes

Re: NBA 2K15 Fictional Draft Classes by CWSapp757/Dreece/Blindside for XBOX One
This year we have a very similar formula to last year’s that we will use to grade the players and rank them. When we used to do draft classes several years ago, I would randomly put together a big board/mock draft. When you do that you can either take all of the fun out of it by giving away who the best player is or you can purposely screw it up rendering the whole thing pointless.
As we have evolved with this, I have come up with a way to base these rankings off of actual data while still giving you the possibility of drafting a bust early or a gem later. Here is how that is done.
As I have discussed in the first post, each draft class that we put out will have three different versions. The only difference between these versions is the potential rating which could be drastically different or exactly the same. In one version, player A (rated 68) could have a potential of 80 but have a potential of 69 in version 2. Here is where the formula comes in to play:
Each player is rated in different areas: "player's current status” (how good he is when he is drafted), "player's potential ceiling” (how good he can be which is based off of potential rating) and "chance of reaching potential ceiling section” (a percentage that I come up with based off of the potential of that player in the three versions).
The current status section and player potential section have the same scale. Both sections have the possible listing of Far From NBA Ready, Not NBA ready, Almost NBA Ready, Bottom of the Bench, Middle of the Bench, Top of the Bench, Starter, High Profile Starter, All Star, Franchise Player, Hall of Famer and Legend. The "chance of reaching potential ceiling" is represented by a percentage. Once again, I come up with this percentage based off this player's potential rating across the three different versions of the classes and the overall difference in a player's "best case scenario version" and "worst case scenario" version. Here is where the formula comes in to play. Each of those previously listed "statuses" equates to a certain amount of points. "Far From NBA Ready" equates to 20, Not NBA Ready equates to 30 points, Almost NBA Ready equates to 40 points and so on and so forth in increments of ten. In order to determine a player's total points we use this formula:
(Player's Current Status *40%) + (Player's Potential Ceiling*40%) + (Player's Potential Ceiling * Chance of reaching potential ceiling*20%) = Draft Grade
So for example, say a player is currently a middle of the bench player with the potential to be a Starter and has a 75 percent chance of reaching his potential. His total score would be (60*.4) + (80*.4) + (80 *.75*.2) = 68
Now let’s say Player B is also currently a middle of the bench player and he has the potential to be a high profile starter. However, he has a 45 percent chance of reaching his ceiling. Although he may have a higher potential ceiling his overall score would be a 68.1. Do you take the risk with player B because he has a higher ceiling or go with player A because he has a better chance of reaching his ceiling (albeit it a lower ceiling).
This little formula puts you in a position where you HAVE to scout. There are three different versions of these classes so you can look like the smartest guy in the room or you can get bit in the butt.
