I love those first round picks Miz. Im interested to know which version you used as I see some interesting picks early and some surprises falling late in the draft.

I used v1. For the record, I was planning on picking up either

with the 11th pick, but a trade was offered to me when my pick came up, giving me the rights to the sixth pick, someone who I felt would fit my team perfectly.

I'm sticking to house rules best I can, but it was important to me to start the rebuilding process with a couple young players in a strong draft. I only won 36 games in 14-15, so I didn't sign any FA rated 80+. Got a fun team to play with though. I'll post it up in a little bit.

Alright finally decided to start my Celtics challenge, MyLeague because it seems highly unlikely that we are not going to get a fix to the regression issue. I just posted the October and November update in my thread. We have some controversy happen during the press conference as we have stated the team's direction publicly. - Signed Reggie Jackson and packaged him with my 2016 and 2019 second round picks in exchange for MCW.

Everyone else who didn't originally play for Brooklyn was acquired through draft/FA.

DeAndre Jordan has been pretty sub-par through 30 games. Plumlee's PER36 stats are almost identical.

I'm thinking of packaging Jordan and Carroll and sending them to LA for Nick Young in some kind of 3-team deal. LA went OFF in FA, but picked up no post players. They signed LeBron, Damian Lillard, Monta Ellis, and Goran Dragic, but they still start Randle and Hill in the post.

I was thinking of going with Jordan and Carroll for Young and Hill, but I feel like I'm losing that deal.

Well I sent Jordan and Carroll to the Lakers for Young, Hill, and a future first.

Coincidentally, my next game was against LA, and I have to apologize to the league. I'm keeping up so far, only down six points in the second, but damn they're good.

I feel like I'm blowing up this thread, but oh well. In my first season, I sent Brook Lopez to New Orleans for Omer Asik and their 2016 first rounder. Well, this year the Pelicans have somehow stumbled out to the worst record in the league through 30+ games. This is obviously exciting for me. If I get a top 3 pick, I'll probably trade down, but right now I'm really looking hard at three guys:

I know I do, and that was kinda my plan when I started. There's nothing I like about the current Nets team, so it seemed like the perfect to to kinda blow up and mold into my own. I'll do another ML at some point with a team that I like the roster and don't want to mess around so much.

I always do one or two dynasties like this every year.

I try to fill needs for other teams with trades, and make other teams better. It's fun to play against good teams.

Have these ready to go for year 2 (used a real class for year 1 and drafted Karl Towns), however I don't have draft picks due to the Melo and Bargnani deals.

With last season part of the history books, we turn the page and look forward to what may be the most anticipated season in decades. With no more high school players being eligible to declare for the draft as of a little more than ten years ago, the NCAA will be treated to two of the biggest stars to play college ball since… well… ever. Both Cincinnati and Temple had marvelous recruiting classes but guard Christopher Sapp and forward Aaiden Blackshear will be in everyone’s sights all year. Not to mention that even with the departure of All American point guard Troy Sanders, the Duke Blue Devils have one of the best teams we have seen in years. I can’t wait to see what happens.

It’s truly a family affair now

Interestingly enough, two very talented brothers played basketball at an extraordinary level and were completely unaware of one another. Even in a world of social media, it took until almost the end of both of their senior years in high school before the two ever made contact with one another. After a few weeks of discussion, the two decided to “take their talents” to Temple University. There is too much to put all in to this one newsfeed so the two young men have agreed to do an interview with us at some point during the year. The point of this little blog however, is to warn the NCAA that this may be the best duo that we have seen for a very long time.

There is a player in Ohio looking to steal the spotlight from the Blackshears.

About nine hours away at the University of Cincinnati is another legendary prospect. I spoke to this young man approximately a year ago and to put it bluntly he was not a very likable kid. He had an “I need to be the center of attention at all times” type of vibe about him but reports are that he has made a dramatic change since then. I spoke to one of his coaches who said “Towards the end of the year, Chris just stopped talking. I mean, he spoke when he was spoken to or when he needed to converse with his teammates but all of the stupid things that he was saying, he eliminated it”.

We have no idea how that will translate to his college career or even if he will be that same guy when the season starts. What we do know is that with three other top 100 high school prospects from last year on this team, they are going to be a force for the first time in a while.

Aaiden Blackshear sprains ankle in practice
We have received word that Aaiden Blackshear has sprained his ankle in practice. Although he claims that he could still play, the Temple coaching staff has stated that they will sit him out for the first game of the season against Davidson.

Syracuse big man Cam Jackson claims that this year he will show his “true form”

After an up and down year last year, Cam Jackson channels his inner Dragon Ball Z claiming that this year he will show his “true form” and live up to the expectations that many had for him as a top high school recruit. Injuries are what held the big man back last year and a year without them could shoot Mr. Jackson to the top of the big boards. We are hoping that Jackson stays on the court for the entire year.

Christopher Sapp did not disappoint in his debut

Whenever a player gets a ridiculous amount of hype, there is always some doubt of whether or not he will be the player that people are building them up to be. Our society is impatient and loves to over analyze the first sample they are provided with. Well, analyze away. In Sapp’s first game against the UVA Cavaliers, Sapp logged 32 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in a 82 – 60 win.

So far so good for one half of the nation’s “Legendary freshmen”. Temple handled business against Temple without Aaiden Blackshear who sat out with a sprained ankle. Blackshear has stated that he will play on November 19 against Saint Joseph’s.

Vante Michaels has some real life issues that he needs to deal with

On November 16 after a Maryland win against George Mason, the team’s starting power forward casually ran off the court. He didn’t shake hands, he didn’t make eye contact with anyone. He was just… gone. By the time the team got back to the locker room, Michaels had already left the building. As team officials continued to search for him, the team’s starting center Brennan Fitness received a text from a number that he had never seen saying “Yo, it’s Vante, tell coach don’t worry bout me. I’m good. Be back tomorrow”.

Vante did indeed return to school the following day but his coach did not refrain from worrying as it was suggested. After speaking with all of the team members, Vante’s roommate Kadeem Tatum revealed that Vante had been dealing with a drug addiction and only offered the vague details “It’s worse than you think. A lot worse”.

This morning, the University of Michigan released a statement saying that Michaels would be leaving the team and entering a drug rehab center. The team is unsure of when or IF he will return to the team this season. Let’s hope that the kid makes it out ok.

Sprained ankle doesn’t slow down Aaiden Blackshear in his debut

Before the game, Aaiden Blackshear said “I just want to get out there and make sure that my ankle is ok. I’m not thinking about living up to any expectations right now”. Well, for those wondering, he did live up to those expectations. While he didn’t have the debut that Christopher Sapp did, Aaiden Blackshear still logged 22 points, 9 rebounds 3 assists, and 2 blocks (on a hurt ankle I may add). Interestingly enough, his brother had an equally impressive game finishing with 17 points, 13 rebounds and 2 blocks.

The team took home the W against Davidson, 76 – 48.

This year’s number one pick may not be Sapp or Blackshear but he still has all eyes on him

Markevious Morrison does everything big. But when you are 17 years old and already 7’0 and 300 pounds you don’t have much of a choice. Markevious Morrison is currently rated as the number one high school player in the land right now. People are split about Morrison for a couple of reasons. His doubters feel that his attitude and erratic behavior will lead to his failing at the next level and above. They also argue that his so much bigger than everyone else in high school, he doesn’t need to possess any real skill to be wildly productive.

His supporters on the other hand note that even though he overpowers everyone he faces, he has still shown a tremendous amount of skill and ability to play in the paint. They also state that “if he gets the right coach, his attitude can easily be turned around” (ala Boogie Cousins).

Personally, I don’t know what to expect from this kid but I know that college basketball would love to see him put it all together at the college level. He currently has Washington, USC, Washington State, Oregon and Oregon State in his top 5 schools.

Eastern Michigan Superstar DeAndre Gervin says he’s staying the course

Ya know, I have to give DeAndre Gervin his props. Gervin was good enough to be a first round pick as a freshman but now as a junior, the worst case scenario for him would be a mid lottery pick. Even with that, he has come out this early in the season and stated that he will not be declaring for the draft this year. You don’t usually see players of this caliber staying for four years so let’s hope that Gervin does something special in the next two years.
